Have this in z metallic and its great fore forehand approaches that you need to go straighter than a zone. it actually for the most part replaced the zone for me on most approaches since it holds angle with touch. something about this disc makes it love the chains at night from about 100 feet out. i think newer players could pick one of these or the ringer gt to get instead of a zone and develop a better forehand approach game.

My only experience with the ringer comes from the z metallic run from ledgestone, and I did not expect to like this disc as much as I do for putting. Mine is max weight and a bit overstable for sure, but it comes out so clean putting! I originally bought this disc in an effort to find a something that can handle forehand torque like a zone, but glides more with a less dumpy fade. It accomplishes this well, but I don't like it much for my forehand grip. I am considering inundating Discraft with requests to make another run in baseline, because the z metallic is just the worst chain catching plastic ever and I would really like to give putting with them a go. Give it a go if you like shallow putters; I've found that I dislike beads on deeper discs but this one's so shallow it fits perfectly.

The Ringer is a flat top, thin, beaded putter. The disc flies true to it's numbers when in the Z Metallic plastic. In general, Z Metallic tends to make discs more overstable. In terms of hand feel, the flat top makes for a comfortable forehand grip. I also found the disc to be comfortable when gripped backhand. In terms of flight, the Ringer has a straight flight with predictable fade. It can hold both a hyzer and anyhzer line. On anhyzer, the disc does try to fight out a bit, which if extremely useful in shaping lines. The disc is also decently torque resistant on backhand. For forehand, it does have the potential to hold too straight or turned over if you try to overpower it.

Where this disc shines the most is as a throwing putter both off the tee and for upshots. The combination of glide and stability have helped me become more accurate and consistent with throwing putters. I primarily use the Ringer on backhand throws with a slight hyzer release. The disc has great utility on forehand if you are trying to navigate tight gaps or throw touchy anhyzer shots. Compared to other throwing putters I have tried, the Ringer's great feel and flight will keep it in my bag for a long time to come. I hope the disc enters regular production again in the future. Be sure to grab a few when they come available, as the Ringer seems to only be released through limited Ledgestone runs these days.
