If you like firm, thin, putters that just feel good in your hand, the Discraft Ringer is for you. The Ringer is an overstable putter (Discraft Stability 1.5) with a low profile (1.8cm tall). The excellent feel this disc provides will help you gain confidence and make more putts. One of the best things about the Ringer is that it’s available in the low cost Pro-D plastic.

    Pro-D Details

Pro-D is Discrafts affordable basic plastic blend. This isn't the most durable plastic, but it provides good grip and is very affordable. For old school disc golfers that like to "break in" thier discs for varying flight paths, Pro-D is an excellent choice. It is also one of the most popular blends for putters and is often referred to as "putter line" plastic.

The Ringer is a very thin overstable putter that I use for both putting and a variety of approach shots. If thrown hard, you can easily over-power the stability of the disc and send it dead straight for the whole flight. Take some power off, and it has a decent fade at the end. The Pro-D plastic is firm enough to make the Ringer feel like a board in your hand (good thing IMO), but soft enough to catch the ground and avoid big skips. Only thing that could make it five stars instead of four would be if the plastic didn't deform so easily! After 8 rounds, the edges of all three Ringers that I bought are pretty beaten up.

The Ringer was my very first disc. I despised it as a putter, but that's because I was bad at disc golf. Now that I'm decent, I don't like it as a putter because I have NFL tight-end sized hands, not because of its flight.

If you play woods golf and find yourself close to the pin but with 20-30 trees in your way- this is the ABSOLUTE BEST patent-pending, anny-flick, get-out-of-jail short distance type disc.  This thing will ride an anny line right to the basket and land flat without skipping, sliding, or rolling away. I've beaten mine in to perfection and if I have to throw an anny to land flat or s-curve within 200 feet this is the guy- no doubt. Works well for forehand upshots, I'd imagine it's like the profile of a zone with more glide and a less aggressive fade at the end. If you want to rip on it it'll stand up flat and glide forever but still fade at the end.

The Ringer, from Discraft, is one of their more stable putters they have in the lineup. It is very shallow and flat topped, which I usually like, but I just couldn't get to feeling comfortable with this disc in hand. The flight of this disc was fine as it handled putting, upshots, and driving very well. It is a nice stable flight that carries straight for awhile before hooking up at the end with predictable fade. If you like the feel of this disc, this could be a great, do everything type of putter.

All I can say is wow. The Ringer is well, a Ringer. After playing for 10 years and strictly putting with traditional putters (challengers, magnets, etc.) I noticed my putting beginning to become inconsistent. I found an old ringer I had and started throwing it at my basket in the backyard. The Ringer stands out in how fast and clean it comes off of your hand. They're a pretty fast putter, so if you have issues of leaving putts short, GET A RINGER. These will get to the basket a lot quicker and require less power. I can't say enough good things about the Ringer as a primary putter.

Great disc for approach hyzer shots. Will also fly pretty straight if you need it to. The only negative is the Pro-D plastic. They wear out really fast and become understable quickly.

Great first disc. Awesome for approaches and putts and should be a disc that you start off with.
