My old reliable, my sweetheart, my comfort blanket, my shelter on a stormy sea, but more importantly, my chain banger! Fits my large hand ever so comfortably. The bottom "index finger bead" (take that to the bank) and the thumb groove top combine to fit perfectly, and greatly boost my consistency and confidence from about 100' and in.

I've got 11 of them at the moment, mostly jawbreaker and putter line. Great consistent gentle fade at the end of flight that helps keep misses close to the pin. I push and spin putt, most of the time a combo of the two, and this thing just floats out of my hand so reliably. Normally putt with 173/4g, but further out from the pin I'm starting to like a tad lighter like 165/7g.

I've tinkered around using them for full throws in both premium and softer plastics, but the feel just isn't there for me. I prefer a smaller bead or none at all for throwing.

All time favorite putter. Very good for having a consistent grip for putting with the groove top. The plastic is very grippy on the chains and this disc is great for getting a very good pop for push putters. This disc is very straight flying when thrown down a fairway as well and always has a fairly stable flight path when thrown not being too flippy or too overstable.

Gave it a shot as a possible replacement for my judges thinking the groove track may give me more spin/control over release when putting, but the track was too far from the rim for my hand to fit properly.

Not for me but it may work for you if your hands are average to above average in size

I've tried at least a dozen putter molds in as many years of playing, and have finally found the one that "stuck."  Banger GT just feels right in my hand, and flies how I want it to in a variety of shots.  There are other thumb track putters out there, but none of them feel this good.  It can handle some wind and torque, but can be useful for beginners all the way up to pros.  What I can't figure out is my favorite blend, because I love them all.  Jawbreaker and Soft are usually what I bag.

    Plastic - Jawbreaker

    Weight - 178g

    Color - Lots

    Thrower - spin putt

I love the groover. It is a great place for my thumb, and to help get more spin on the disc. The rim is thick and it just fits perfectly in a fanned grip. Jawbreaker plastic is nice and grippy and feels wonderful in the hand.

I would not recommend the Jawbreaker plastic for a thrower putter, but I am waiting on them to release a ESP plastic Banger GT.

    Bang them Chainz!
This was my main putter the longest time since starting 3 years ago. I have since switched to beedless putting putters, just personal preference. It is now one of my main Throwing/Approach putters. I love the groove track, feels like butter!

I putted and threw with XSoft, Putter Line Soft and Jawbreaker. Ranked, Heavy 175g+ Jawbreakers are the best for putting hands down, once they beat-in they become awesome throwers. I really liked the X Soft which I think is now OOP with the new Putter-Line. But the XSoft was great for long putts and approaches in lighter weights that stick and don't roll away or rebound into oblivion.
Putter Line Soft is good, feels a bit like ProD mixed with X or XSoft and is good all around. That being said I enjoyed the duality of having the Cheaper Xsoft and Jawbreaker as separate plastics. Putter line just seems to close to Jawbreaker for my taste.

ESP and BigZ are awesome throwing/approach putters, better in the wind than X or Jawbreaker! definitely a bit more overstable. The more premium plastics also feel a little thicker in the hand compared to the less premium plastics which feel less tall in the hand.

This has been my putting putter for a good while and I really enjoy it. The thumb track feels nice and keeps my hand placement consistent. It also gives the disc a shallower feel that I really like, while still having solid glide. I do not throw this disc a whole lot but it has worked well for upshots when needed. An excellent option for a putter with a truly unique feel in the hand.

My go-to putter. The Jawbreaker plastic is a great combination of firmness & grip. The GT 'groove top' for the thumb helps a consistent release. The GT in Jawbreaker is slightly overstable, perfect for that slight hyzer putt. In my 172g it's heavy enough to fight the wind, with enough glide to still hit from 40 or 50'

It will hold an anhyzer if you force it over, but it does tend to fade left predictibly at the end.
Not my favorite for a putter from the tee, as I prefer to tee with a power grip. But can approach with it within 150' or so.

The most properly named disc. This a good approach putter. The grove on the top fits my giant hands comfortably and gives me the control on the longer putts. It doesn't glide as well as I originally thought but still my most used putter.

A few months ago I wrote a review about how this disc was great for emergency spin putts, but now it is so much more than that for me. I used to throw all my straight backhand up shots with a star dart, but whenever I wasn't happy with it I would take my Banger GT and throw another upshot. Over time I realized one thing, my Banget GT ups were almost always better than the Dart ones. So now, any backhand up shots on nearly any angle are done with the Banger GT, and the Jawbreaker plastic loves to sit down where it lands. This thing rocks.

I love this disc! I putt with the Banger GT in Jawbreaker plastic. If feels great and looks great. The thumb track is something you either love or hate. It for me is very comfortable. It putts very straight with a slight fade past 25' for me. When I throw it, it is in ESP or Z plastic and it fly's just like a slower Buzzz. Flys very straight with a very subtle fade. Put it on anny and it will never come back and it will hold a hyzer line the same. If you are open to sometime new and maybe different you gotta give this a try!

If you haven't tried any jawbreaker plastic you should! Awesome feeling approach putter with a comfortable indentation that's helped me to release ever so slightly more accurately. Tends to site where it lands nicely.

I have had several bangers in my bag since I picked up disc golf. It is a great approach disc and I also use it for overhand hammer shots to get out of the brush. I particularly love the jawbreaker plastic for these discs. It is feels great in the hand and remains grippy during wet conditions. There will always be a spot in my bag for the Jawbreaker Banger GT.

I have several different plastics for this disc i use. Jawbreaker, x soft, esp, and titanium. I putt and throw the jawbreaker plastic. I usually putt with a spin putt with a slight hyzer and this disc is absolutely money with a small fade. Also have push putted this disc and its fade shows a little but more but nothing too bad.

From a throwing perspective, this disc new has a little beef to it, not too much but not too little either. As the jawbreaker beats in it still flies incredibly straight. If you throw any anhyzer, majority of the time it will pan out really well. I have also used this disc as a flick roller when i need to scramble and it works perfectly for that.

Overall this putter can find its way into any ones bag. Very comfortable and easy to control for both beginners and experienced players

My max-weight Jawbreaker Banger-GT is in my bag for one reason and one reason only, but boy does it get that job done so effectively. I like to call myself a "spush" putter, where I am predominantly a push putter but I spin the disc a little bit. However, if I have to straddle putt, jump putt, or hit a line out of the woods on a putt, I am going to go to a straight spin putt, and this disc is the perfect tool for that. The groove top allows me to really dig my thumb in, which in turn allows me to put a ton of spin on the disc. Playing on wooded New England courses I need to resort to a spin putt of of necessity rather frequently, and it used to be a huge weak spot of mine. Now that I have this disc, I've saved so many strokes on the greens.

Jawbreaker Banger-GT (173g) - This was my first putter after moving on from the classic Aviar. I held a bunch of putters at my local store and ended up deciding that this one with the groove felt the most natural in my hand and I stuck with it. It really is a great ergonomic putter and suits my somewhat glidey high-to-low hyzer putting style. I will add a caveat though which is that I don't bag this putter very consistently; despite the fact that I really like how it putts and I always bring it for putting practice it just wasn't a very consistent thrower for me. I don't carry a large bag and so I just couldn't justify carrying a specific putting putter when I putt equally well with a Nova, plus I trust my Nova for anything less than 100ft to land by the basket. The Banger was less consistent for me from those distances and the really nice, grippy Jawbreaker plastic was so springy that it would often land and bounce and roll away, while the XT overmold of the Nova would sit almost without fail. I plan on trying a Pro-D version of the Banger soon since that might solve the issue of weird roll-aways while throwing. Despite that, I definitely recommend this putter. Many people have different throwing styles or uses for a putter, so by all means definitely check these out.

This is 100% my favorite putter, been experimenting with a few and one problem I have had with putting is keeping a putter flat and having a consistent grip, the banger gt helped with that in the very first round I played with it, I have a pro-d and a jaw breaker, I use the pro-d as kindof a throwing putter between 75-120 feet and I use the jawbreaker within 60 and the jaw breaker plastic is super soft and the most grippy plastic which is great for putts

I'm really happy to have this disc- as a beginner I've found a lot of approach confidence throwing the Banger GT and have made a few outside of circle putts with it, too! I like the feel of the rim itself, but I do find that I'm a little put off by the thumb track occasionally just because my hand is not that big so my thumb doesn't exactly line up. It is more comfortable in feel than my aviar, though!

The Jawbreaker Banger-GT is one of the best putters from Discraft.  I love its grip and how it fits my hand. I enhoy big beaded putters, and this one does not disappoint. It shines as a throwing putter, but is also a very good putting putter. It is very controllable and mildly overstable. You can throw it on hyzer and trust it to hold that hyzer. Thrown flat it will fly far with a gentle fade at the end. Anhyzer throws you can control to have them hold the anhyzer to the end or to flex and finish soft and flat.  If you are searching for an excellent throwing putter, this should be at the top of your list to try.

I think that this might just be the most unique disc on the market. The groove top is one of the more unique things I’ve ever seen, aside from that the top is board flat. The shoulders are very rounded, and the rim has one of the biggest beads I’ve ever seen. Usually, I’m not a guy for beads, but this one doesn’t actually feel too bad. This is a unique disc also in that I fell really comfortable putting with it, and throwing it. Mine’s flight is similar to a nova, dead straight little movement either way.

Get this disc! You’ll like it

So my Primary Banger GT is actually an older one in ESP, but I feel like that hasn't made a big difference on my perception of this disc. It's not a bad putter by any means, but this disc excels at Upshots and is a great driving putter. I don't really dig into the GT, but for whatever reason, I find this disc very comfortable consider I don't really like your typical deeper rimmed putter. I like to think of this as a Rhyno but with a lot more touch and glide: Dependably stable and can take some juice, but easy to manipulate and finesse as well.

If you're on the fence, I'd grab one because it has a unique feel that at least compliments me very well. You may also love it for putting because there was a span it was my main putter!

I wanted to try a Banger after watching MJ shred courses with his. It took a minute to get used to the feel of this disc. Its not uncomfortable, in fact, exactly the opposite, but it is different. the groove is quite significant. The flight is really nice, its one of the straighter putters I've thrown, while still holding up to some power. It fades a bit at the end, but most of the flight was straight. I didn't like it as much in the circle, but that was more of just not being used to the feel of the disc. I can see why MJ likes this disc so much, especially on the wooded courses, its a great disc.

Unfortunately i think that my time with the Banger-gt is coming to an end. I have been playing disc golf for a few years now and always threw what i found in local ponds and such but just started to take my game seriously this season. The Banger-gt was my first (serious) putter. I loved how the thumbtrack sat in my hand and this disc really helped me to get confident with putts in the 15-20 ft range. Unfortunately i feel like this disc and i have been in the honeymoon phase. As i start to putt with more confidence and consequently power and try puts from farther away i am starting to prefer my aviar and whale more. I have several of these as i thought it would be my go to for years to come. I found the thumbtrack to be a bit of a hindrance when trying to get a clean consistent release on upshots and because decreasing usefulness i think its getting retired to the practice basket for when friends want to play putt "horse" and drink beer

I absolutely love this disc. I got my first banger a few years ago in pro-D and I’ve been hooked since. Right now I bag it in jawbreaker for the summer and x soft in the winter so it’s my year round go to. I really like the banger for a driving putter despite the bead on it. Works  really well thrown flat and hard.

I putted with the banger GT for a while. The Banger GT is a great upshot disc and serviceable neutral putter. For whatever reason, the Groove Top helps me out more on approach type shots than it did as a putter. The Banger GT flies pretty straight with some fade at the end. I think it's a good putter if you can get a consistent release, but I just didn't think the Jawbreaker plastic was grippy enough, and the Groove Top on occasion would hang up on putts. I love it for upshots though.

It feels like a Judge with a thumbtrac. If you like the thumbtrac feel, then you will really like this disc. It's a straight line putter that goes where you throw it. It's not a hard fading putter, so make sure you aim at the chains, hopefully you're doing that already.
