The Sail is an understable distance driver from DGA, meant to provide a wide range of players a disc with a wide array of possible uses. With a high glide rating, this driver will allow new players to increase their driving distance, as the Sail will remain aloft with lower speed drives. This disc is great for shots meant to end without fading back.

I threw this disc a few times in the field and wasn't super impressed.  I went out to the course and threw it in the bag just in case I found a hole to try it out one more time.  I'm so glad I did, this disc is FUN to throw.  This disc is going to be in my bag all the time now.
This disc makes me feel like a pro, well maybe not that great but it does fly well with bad throws and for someone that doesn't have a massive arm I'm still able to hyzer flip this.  And when I do, it just flies and flies and goes straight.

I do agree with the rest that this is not an 11 speed.  I think giving it a 10 speed is being generous but with the glide it still goes.   I would recommend this for anyone who wants just a super fun disc to throw.

In my opinion the Sail's flight numbers are off. It isn't a distance driver, it is a control driver. It is understable, but not as understable as the flight numbers would suggest. I would put the flight numbers closer to 10, 5, -3, 1. It is understable, and is great at hyzerflips and turnovers. It is even great for rollers. As it beats in it gets more and more useful for those understable uphill drives. I enjoy the sail, but am going to stick with an Infinite Discs Maya for my understable distance slot.

Easily the most fun disc I own. As mentioned, it's not quite a speed 11 but it feels faster to me than a 9; then again, what do I know.

Beginners are going to set distance records the second they get a good rip on this. My girlfriend threw it once, her previous record was 240 and she immediately threw this 270. Best she's had so far is 310, albeit with a bit of a hill.

For the bigger arms, the thing is reliably understable, with more fight than you think at the end. My favorite party trick is releasing it full rip at a complete spike hyzer angle at a normal height and getting it to flip all the way over and still turn right.

Nothing out there flies quite like the Sail and for that I love it. Give it enough height and it's a sweeping right turn with just enough stability to come out. I don't throw rollers but I'm sure it's perfect for it.

The River and Saint claim a 7 glide, but they've got nothing on the Sail

This is my favorite long distance driver in most situations. If it's windy or I need a more OS finish I might choose something else but this disc is just SO good. This disc never ceases to impress not just me but others who see me throw it. I'm always getting "what was that"? I've been throwing the Sail for years and this would be the last disc to ever leave my bag hands down. If you like flippy discs and a disc that just glides for days do yourself a favor and get a Sail. You can thank me later.

This disc is only a speed 9 has the exact same rim dimensions as my Thunderbird, just a convex as a Thunderbird is concave. I was very happy with this as I was wanting something for big turnovers and didn't have a Thunderbird that beat up yet. This disc works perfectly for me as I always throw 2 discs at each hole (1 forehand and 1 backhand) this disc works beautifully for both to get the turnover and does glide forever!

The DGA Sail is one of the more interesting Frisbees' I've had the pleasure to throw. It has a very flat and wide profile to it making it reasonably comfortable to hold the wing is almost perfectly flat. The sail is VERY shallow which would lead me to believe this would fit smaller hands particularly well. The Sail I've been testing with is in the swirly tour ESP plastic from discraft and it is about 171g when I scaled it.

The Sail is probably the single most understable disc I have ever thrown to date. I cannot get anything but a roller or throwler out of this disc and my arm speed is relatively average for your MA2-MA1-ish crowd. I use hyzer to dictate the amount of cut this disc comes down on which is very nifty/fun especially since rollers were not a primary shot I threw previously. When I power down to around 50-60% and throw with hyzer i will get a long hyzer flip into a throwler unless I leave a large amount of air space open for it to work right. Forehand I actually get this disc to invert overhand style with only a moderate snap, it unfortunately does not hold forehand rollers particularly well. I've thrown some overhands with this and they pan very fast which can be somewhat useful when navigating weird fairways. I think where this disc comes into its own is in utility for average players as you can do a lot with this disc that you cannot do with others especially from limited stance.

The Sail is terrible in head winds, but you could throw this in a 25-30 mph tailwind and probably get some turn which is kinda cool.

The Sail is good for lower power players or ladies and children who are not in the 250-300ft range with most other drivers. I find it can be quite hard to control and does not forgive any kind of anhyzer release.

Overall, I didn't think I would like the sail as much as I did, it turns out having that extra flippy disc can be quite clutch and it has added the roller shot into my game pretty reliably which is fun. I think it has its market and while i might not be it I highly encourage those with great touch or low power but good form to try this one out it is quite fun!

This is my first DGA disc and I'm throwing a 162g Pro-Line. Overall I really like the Sail, it flies very straight and also gets quite good distance with almost no left fade at all. After only a few times out with this disc I've already had several close aces from well over 200 feet. It's that accurate! It also responds well to control shots, I can get a nice smooth anhyzer to the right or a hyzer to the left and yet I don't find it finicky like some other discs. It pretty much gives you what you want when you need it.

I'm not a strong thrower, averaging 250 - 300 feet. For me, this disc is comfortably understable and I've never had it turn and burn on me. My only complaint is that I don't find the Pro-Line plastic very grippy, and I sometimes have poor releases because of that. It's definitely not as grippy as Star or S-Line. My disc is fairly domey which took getting used to for me. I still highly recommend giving the Sail a try! I wish all discs flew this straight and smooth! I agree with other reviewers who say that this is not a speed 11 disc. Maybe a 9 or 10.

    2023 EDIT:

I've been throwing the Sail for a few years now and it has remained my go to driver for most shots. Maybe it's because I know the disc so well now, but I can manage almost any shot I need with the Sail. It has even become a pretty good side arm disc for me, which is not my strong throw. I find the SP plastic is better for grip and it's pretty tough. I bought a couple of new Sails in 2022, one in each plastic and they had a much flatter profile than my old ones and were more understable. I prefer my older ones, but that's probably just because I'm so used to them. I will sometimes use a new one when I really need a sure fire right curve. I have found the Sail to be an incredibly versatile disc and it still continues to amaze me with its distance, often matching my faster drivers. Love it!

    Update!

So the rim on this thing is by no means anywhere near a size 11 speed driver. More like a 7...maybe, maayybeee an 8 at the most. Not sure why they say it's an 11, it's not.

This proline plastic holds up like a champ! I've absolutely smashed this sucka into trees, rocks, ground, etc. But it looks damn near new still. I shanked a throw right into a tree 50 feet from the teepad, it kicked off in the correct direction though luckily, seemed to want to correct its flight and get right back over to the fairway, turn and SAIL away down the mountain...and STILL out-drove everyone else on my card who even had good drives hahaha it amazes me how much glide this sucker has.

That being said, it makes it's way in and out of the bag since my form has improved a ton and my arm speed has significantly increased to all of my distance drivers having a very comfortable speed of 13 :D

I still throw it occasionally during practice rounds to have some interesting fun.

Great distance driver for beginners. Try one out. You may just like it.

    I. Love. This. Disc.

Seriously as a forearm player this disc on a flick with a tiny tiny bit of power just goes, and goes, and goes some more. It has a very short extremely late flight fade, and stays on whatever line I put it on. I've had several drives actually when it doesn't fade at all and will stay with the turn or just drop off at the end of the momentum. Its become my go to driver and has increased my driving range 50ft+. Very understable.

As a newer player this is the first driver I was able to really get both distance and accuracy on.  Pro Line plastic just feels the best in my hand, and DGA has slowly started taking over my bag due to this.

This is the first DGA disc that I've tried, and the first disc that I've been able to hyzer flip with ease. It's helped my game immensely, both with max distance as well as holding long anhyzer lines. I lost my first one that was given to me and went out to buy two to replace it. Definitely staying in my bag.

First of all... I'm never taking this disc out of my bag again.

Second, they nailed the name of this disc. 'Sail'...it does just that, and very well. If there is such thing as a glide 8 disc, this is the first. Holy hang time! Careful with downhill shots, because this thing just keeps going and going and going...

Now, I've been playing for a couple of years and have developed quite an arm, therefore I must be careful about when I choose to use this wonderful wonderful creation.

Mostly thrown with powered-down hyzer-flips, or it will burn fairly easy.

Very useful for steep uphill shots. Hyzer-flip it on a higher angle and watch it 'Sail'.

Downhill shots, no problem. Finesse your throw and watch it 'Sail'.

Flat shots, does that too. Has a nice long "s" curve 'Sail' to it.

There is a use for this disc in EVERYONE'S bag. Especially if you live in higher altitude like myself, where discs are a lot more stable/overstable.

I see a lot of reviewers saying this disc is flippy, and I would absolutely agree. Let's face it this disc is a finesse disc but has a wide range of use for noodle arms and cannons alike.

For the novice it can be thrown at low arm speed and maintain a straight line and is great to learn hyzer flips and rollers.

For higher arms speeds you have to be able to regulate your power, if you're someone that is 0 or 100, this disc is not for you, it will turn and burn every time you throw it. If you can regulate your power and are comfortable with hyzer flipping discs all day, than this disc is for you. I've had great success throwing huges S curves, big rollers, and extremely low ceiling shots and even the under powered straight/small S curves when needed.

Outside of that, the disc has TONS of glide and is very comfortable in my hand. This is the first DGA disc I purchased and pretty much the only disc not innova in my bag besides my judge. This is definitely not an every scenario disc, and may get used only a few times a round. But it's earned a place in my bag and will remain there for the foreseeable future.

I knew from the first couple of throws that this was a great disc. Its currently the only understable driver I bag. It doesn't get thrown a lot, but it is indispensable. I throw RHBH and use it for long left to right shots, back hand rollers, and long hyzer flips. The plastic has held up very well. It feels great and is durable.

Man, this thing is just absurdly understable. My form is getting decent, but I by no means have a power arm - a good drive on flat ground is anything over 300ft for me - and this thing thrown flat goes almost instantly to the right for me, with very little fade at the end. With any sort of head wind, it's turning into a roller.

Not that that's necessarily a bad thing - a disc that will reliably go right, especially if you don't have a ton of power, is a very useful thing. Hyzer flipping the Sail, or throwing it in a tail wind (still expecting it to fade right), I've gotten some of my longest drives from any disc to date- approaching 400ft!

I'm a little worried that once it beats in, or if my form continues to improve, my Sail might get a point where it's not really usable for anything but a roller or very high tailwind drive. But for now, I'm really enjoying having a disc I can throw backhand for max distance and trust to turn over every time.

I saw my son carrying this disc around the course one day and asked if I could try it. He replied that it would be the perfect disc for the next hole. Since I throw almost exclusively backhand, I'm always looking for a good anhyzer disc to get me around the right-hand turns. I've typically stuck with an understable midrange in those cases, sacrificing distance for a desirable flight path. The Sail is an understable distance driver so it was worth a shot. I didn't give it all my power on the first throw, but it made that right-hand turn like a champ and then continued to sail on it's new course. It was the furthest I'd made it around that turn. I instantly decided that I wanted the disc, so I bought one the very next day.

This is the first disc by DGA that I added to my bag, and so far, I'm quite happy with it. It's a great utility disc for my understable, anhyzer needs.

I wasn't expecting to like the Sail a whole lot, but it really surprised me. I was anticipating an extremely understable disc that would crash right fairly consistently. At 5,000 feet elevation, not throwing at full power, the Sail actually flew pretty good. I did have to release on a hyzer still, but I really liked the flight, it was very unique.

After dialing in the angle of release I wanted, I could get the Sail to stand up, turn over, and just hold a long anhyzer glide. The sail really didn't crash immediately like other understable discs I have thrown. With enough height, it would flatten out and, well, sail.

I tried using the Sail for rollers, guessing it would stand up and finish right very quickly. I was right... It stood up entirely too fast, even when landing in a hard cut angle. In this way, the disc was pretty useless for me; I don't have a need for a disc that rolls that understable.

One other aspect of the Sail that didn't agree with me was the plastic; it didn't feel great in my hand, and it wasn't grippy enough for me to get a strong release, it would kind of just come out of my hand. I was throwing the Sail alongside a VIP Hatchet and Opto Fury, both max weight. Both of those plastics felt much more comfortable in my hand, which also helped those discs fill the "understable control driver" slot a little better.

Overall I was really impressed with the Sail. I really liked the flight and found it quite shapeable. If you hit the angle of release just right, this disc can really go. As I mentioned before, it flattens, but then stays in glide mode for a very long time. Unlike other discs of this stability that would either crash right immediately, or flatten and continue to fade out.

I am an adv. grandmaster whose big arm is long gone and this disc went right into my bag after throwing it the first time. Great accuracy, great glide, great distance. I bought a second one for back up right away. Neither disc is  flippy for me. I hope it beats in to a little bit flippy.  For beginners or experienced players like me who do not have a big arm, this is a must try disc. Unfortunatly, many big arm players are the reviewers on all discs and have no business throwing an understable disc to begin with. But for mortals, this is a terrific disc.

This is a fun flippy disc!  It was perfect for those long hyzer flip shots, but at times it was hard to control.  If you're better at hyzer angled releases, check this disc out.  It can get some sweet distance!  I also let my very beginner friend try it out and she could get it further than any other disc she tried.  It's a great driver for beginners who are learning to get their form down.

I tested out a DGA Sail in the 167-169 weight range today. Long story short, this disc flew exactly how I thought it would--very very understable. This disc was super flippy for me, and for the most part hard to control at first. I got a better hold of it as I threw it more, and I learned to power down and put lots of air under it to keep it from turning over and dying on me. I don't think this is a disc for me really, but newer players and golfers looking for something super flippy will really like this disc. I also think this could be a great roller disc for more experienced players.
