The Aftershock is a solid overstable disc in the DGA lineup. While not quite as overstable as the Shockwave, the Aftershock still offers a consistent and predictable fading flight path while also providing more distance. This midrange can handle powerful throws and will keep its line for almost the entire flight path. The disc features a microbead, increasing the stability slightly and offering more durability.

DGA SP or Sparkle Line is DGA's top end premium blend of plastic. This is a transparent blend with sparkles that takes longer to beat in than any other DGA plastic. When it comes to disc flight, SP line discs are slightly more stable.

Tested a new Aftershock along with a handful of other slightly OS mids.
I was looking for something a bit more OS than a Buzzz but not too OS.
I used to have an old Aftershock about 13 years ago and I kind of remembered it being that nice stability.
The new one was a max weight Sparkle SP blue at 178g I believe.

Flight is great. It's not the fastest or glidey-est. But it's a nice stability without being too OS. Very workable. Similar to a Discraft WASP in stability. But a difference wing feel. The shoulder bulges out a little and there is a small bead underneath. It wasn't the best hand feel, but not terrible.
It seemed to have a little less speed and a little less glide than the others I tested (MD4. Wasp. Rise. Ritual)

Speed and glide aren't something you necessarily want from a slightly OS mid. It cut the air well. Never turned over on a flat power throw. Gets down with a nice fade right at the right moment.

Would recommend. Solid slightly OS mid.

I'd call it 4.5/3.5/0/2 when compared to an MD4 which I'd call 5/5/0/2.5

Received recently as a mystery disc in a separate order from Infinite and grabbed it for a single disc round to try it out.

Handled just about any shot very well, got some better distance than I expected based on the flight numbers and does have a reliable fade at the end of the flight.

And while it isn't meant for putting it actually handled rather well

10/10 would use as a single disc round challenge disc again.

Seriously, I got one at a tournament and thought eh I'll try it eventually. I found myself on a massive starting hole (#1 at Stafford Lake in Novato, Ca) 300 ft short of the pin with a slight elevation to go; any potential hyzer or dump out is death. I pull the DGA Aftershock out and from a patent-pending stance glaze the chains with the purest flight I've ever seen in a midrange, I've been in love ever since

Picked this disc up in used condition last week.  Played Sunday in 95 degree (and humid as hell) weather in Kentucky.  Not friendly to sweaty hands but loved the flight on this disc when able to get a nice grip on it.  Backhands and forehands both felt good to throw from mid range and held their lines as they should.  Also happened to shock a couple of friends I was playing with when I parred a Par 4 with a hammer throw from probably 40-50 feet away.  The look on their face when it hit the chains was unforgettable!!  4 out of 5 for this disc, if I had a towel and could dry my hands the whole round, probably deserves a 5
