Dynamic Discs' long distance driver promises max distance for intermediate-advanced disc golfers. On a powerful throw, the Renegade may be very understable; good for downwind shots and rollers. The Renegade has a substantial degree of high speed turn, impressive glide, and a significant low speed fade. The Dynamic Discs Renegade is available in transparent Lucid plastic, Fuzion plastic for the Eric McCabe series, and the most affordable BioFuzion plastic.

I had a Lucid 172 grams which I threw for several rounds.

The Lucid plastic is typical clear Trilogy grippy and medium flex. Very nice plastic. The disc is on the shallow side, maybe similar to an Innova Tern. Flight was understable but controllable. Mine had a shallow to medium dome.

Nice driver. Understable. Good glide and distance.

I got this disc hoping it might steal me a little extra distance being a fast, but understable disc.  It just turned out to be not what I was going for.  The feel is great, the rim isn't too wide for a BH and it isn't too deep for a FH, but I just found the flights to be a little too unforgiving.

The Renegade doesn't handle a FH very well, it just turned into a roller for me.  On a BH, it would get a lot of turn, but never really come out of it, unless I took a bit off my throw.  When I took some off my throw, it flew just like some of my more overstable fairways and got about the same distance.

I was a little disappointed in the consistency I was getting in flights.  I have several other understable discs, some in this speed, some a little slower, and they fly much more consistent than the Renegade.

Overall, if you have a slower arm and want a step up in speed and only throw BH, this could be a good disc for you.

The numbers on this are not close... it is way more understable than what dynamic labels it as.. of course on dgam they constantly say flight numbers dont matter.. well then just dont use them. If someone want an idea of what they are buying you should care enough to try to make it close instead of blatantly saying you dont care about integrity. Dynamic discs method of assigning flight numbers seems to be roll four dice and that is the flight numbers

When you first throw the Renegade, it flies like a flippy wraith. Once you begin to throw the disc more, it dumps and begins to become your roller disc.

Some people like to throw the renegade best in the lucid plastic because it takes the disc longer to beat in rather than a fuzion or a prime renegade.

The Renegade was one of my first go to backhand distance drivers after I got my form down and had been playing for a while.  I was cycling 4 or 5 of them for a while, and they worked very well for me until I moved up to slightly faster and more stable discs.

I liked them best in Lucid plastic and found them to be a little more stable and reliable in this plastic.  New I could throw them flat and hard, get some very good turn, then a strong finishing fade.  They can also be thrown with some hyzer, flip to flat or get some small turn, then have a good hard finish.  Another area it shines in is long anhyzer turnovers that then finish flat.  I have one now that is very beat and works excellently as a long roller, which currently is the only one I still have in the bag.

In the Fuzion plastic expect the disc to have some extra turn.  It does tend to beat up faster and not be as durable either.

The Renegade is a great first distance driver or for anyone with some intermediate arm speed.  I'm sad it is being discontinued, so try and get your hands on some while they are still readily available.

This is a great disc for beginners looking to move up in speed and get a distance driver.  I've been throwing explorers for a while, and when I bumped up to this, and was pleased to see some really good flights with some s-turns on it.  Highly recommended for those looking to break into the speed 11-12 range for the first time

I was looking for a less stable compliment to my Flows, so I tried a Moonshine Renegade. I have a lighter weight GL Flow that was pretty broken in, and the Renegade in the touch more stable Moonshine plastic was too similar to justify bagging both. Since then, I worked on my form enough to where I feel like I can handle the Flow a little better than when I picked up the Renegade, and since I already had a few of those, I went with them instead of investing in more Renegades because it just wasn't love at first sight. That being said, I still think it would be a fantastic introduction to double digit speed drivers for players discing up to them, especially in a less stable plastic like Fuzion. If I wasn't already in love with another disc, I probably would have given it a better shot, but I simply didn't click with it enough for my preference.

To me this disc is mislabeled big time. It turns way more than I expected with little to no fade. I picked mine up in max weight with the hope that it would be a good disc for the woods that I could throw straight to slight turnover lines with, but with anything more than 70% power(I throw about 400 ft consistently) it would flip hard. I appreciate flippy discs for line shaping and wooded shots but this discs understability just doesn't seem controllable. I want to say that this would be a good distance driver for beginners but I think there are way better options on the market. I would try a pro beast, a valkyrie, or a mystere.

This is the disc I go to when I want distance but do not want to crank on a disc. Lucid Renegades out of the box are nothing short of incredible. Very easy to throw and if you have good control of your release angle you can really rely on this disc to be a good first distance driver. Once it beats in, it can easily become your first roller disc. I wouldn't say this is very beginner friendly, I wouldn't hand anyone this disc for their first couple of rounds. If you have a good amount of rounds under your belt and you want your first distance driver, this disc is what I would recommend for you.

i would recommend this to any beginner looking for an understable distance driver. it was the first distance driver that i was able to throw on a hyzer and get it to flip to flat. I have never had any problems throwing this disc into a headwind mainly because i don't throw the renegade into a headwind. I usually throw this disc with some hyzer and let it flip up to flat then continue to drift right until the fade brings it back some while still finishing a bit right. it is also really good for long turnover shots.

I bought the Renegade a while back when I was just starting to throw faster drivers and this was the perfect disc for that. I was used to throwing Diamonds or Breakouts around 200' to 225' and then I picked up the Renegade and threw it 250' consistently. I still use the Renegade but for turnovers now. If you have over 300' of power, this disc will likely be a roller for you but if you are around that 250'-300' max distance range this disc will fly similar to a vision; A turnover that slowly comes back to straight. The Renegade doesn't have as much glide as I would like on a driver but it gets the job done. I would suggest giving this disc to a player who is looking for a turnover/roller disc or a beginner moving up to a distance driver.

The Lucid Renegade is one of my favorite understable distance drivers. With a speed of 11, I feel it is good for beginners who are wanting to achieve a little more distance. Understable discs are great for newer arms for this reason.

In a headwind, this disc does amazingly well for rollers. I love short grass fairways for this shot. This disc will GO. In a tailwind, or no wind at all, you're going to get a lot of distance as it flies out the the right, hits its s curve, and fades to the left.

Very surprising disc here, and not in a good way. Dynamic's rating of 1.5 on the high speed turn is WAAAYYYY off. The Renegade I threw was easily a -5. It was flippier than the Mamba I was throwing it next to. Even on some steep hyzers the Renegade was turning all the way over to the ground for me.

I finally hit it well once on a downwind hyzerflip and it flew OK. Nothing earth shattering here. I was expecting something similar to a Wraith when I first threw he Renegade. Not even close.

Only really positive thing I can say about this disc is that it glides well. Keeping it on a flat distance line is pretty much impossible though. Flight numbers on the Renegade need to be updated significantly.

I bought this disc to fill the 11 speed spot, that I didn't really need just yet. That being said, I didn't like it at first. I think it was too much for me. Even though it is understable, I was not able to get it on its flight path. Part of this may be because I got in Lucid plastic, which is a tad more stable than the other varieties. All that being said, once broke the disc and developed myself a tad more as a player, this disc really showed it's worth to me. This is a great understable disc, that I can rely on for great distance without having to tear into it. An excellent distance driver for beginners who want to start playing with higher speed discs, without plunging too deep into things they won't be able to handle for quite some time. I will be playing with this until I can graduate into something faster, once I am comfortable. Great stuff Dynamic!

This is my go-to driver, and fits my arm speed well. Thrown flat it (RHBH) it will turn a little bit, then fade back, creating a nice S-line that ends up being pretty much straight. Thrown with just a touch of hyzer and it flips up flat, and will finish straight. This is my favorite way to throw it.  It will hold anny's well.

I dont throw it into major headwinds.  But a very slight headwind or crosswind is fine. Tailwinds its very nice...straight for days.

It's very comfortable in the hand, nothing too big or too deep. Just right.

I pair  the Renegade with Swords for straight to hyzer shots, and Trespasses for into the wind.  Would recommend for any intermediate to advanced player who needs a neutral to slighttly understable flight.

Perfect Disc for Smooth Firm flat throws maybe some hyzer and you get max distance with nice S curve shots.  Can get a little flippy once beaten in but still really nice.  Great glide, great feel with the rim. You just can't crank on it.  you can easily get 400 plus though with little effort.  usually more like 375 to 385ft for me but it gets there.  when needed good for long turn shots that straighten out right before hits the ground for feets of 285 to 310. Really nice to bag a Renegade and a Tresspass.  They pair well especially both having the nice rim.

I got this disc through playing a trilogy challenge event in my area. I chose it solely based on the stats and how it felt it my hand. The rim on this disc is fairly narrow, but the shape and plastic combine to make this disc feel great in the hand. My avg drive RHBH is around 300 feet and when throwing this disc flat at 100% power it needs room to work, it will have quite a bit of high speed turn right and then predictably fade back left making a nice s-curve. I can throw this disc with hyzer RHBH and it will flip up flat, glide for a while and then fade left. I can't throw this disc with RHFH, it will turn and burn almost every time (I avg 350-400 w/RHBH shots). I would compare this disc to the Axiom Insanity, both in flight and in shape, which was one of my first distance drivers. If you have 350-400 ft power backhand, I wouldnt recommend this disc for you. But if you avg 250-350, this is a solid, predictable driver.

I got a Renegade second hand, and on a recent vacation I took it along as my distance driver.

First that stood out to me is just how nice if feels in the hand. For a high speed driver, the rim is comfortable. For those with smaller mitts, this is a solid high speed driver to work with. It is also fairly understable so newer players can get easy distance with it.

It's definitely a touchy disc. When I try to really rip into it, it turns and burns. It responds well to being thrown gently. When you find the sweet spot for this disc, it does what you ask it to. The only thing it hasn't done well for me is roll. I don't think mine is beat enough to get down on an edge.

I got this disc out to 370 after I figured it out. It's a fun disc that I will consider bagging when I feel like my arm is ready for something above a speed 9.

    Orange 169 g. Lucid Renegade

I got this disc hoping to get something I could flex out for extra distance. That was exactly what the renegade was for me, at least at first. My only complaint is that it beat in too quickly and became too understable. So, if you want a pretty understable driver, this could be a great choice for you. I would recommend despite quick beat in rate.

I love the Lucid Renegade. I have been throwing exclusively Trilogy for a while now, but for some reason it took me a while to try the Renegade. I recently picked up a few 10-12 speed discs for throwing fan grip with a little more control, luckily, the Renegade was one of them.

There isn't one thing about this disc I don't like. The one I picked up was an older run, domey and 176g. I thought because of the weight and dome, it would fly a little stable, but it flips and goes. This disc is brand new and being thrown at 4,500 feet elevation, so I imagine after it beats in a bit it would be a little more understable (although Lucid, Opto, and VIP are some of the best and most durable plastics I have found).

Throwing flat at about 70% this disc goes super strait with a little turn. Once I turn up the volume a bit, it gives me great turn but has the stability at the end to finish back. I was throwing big anhyzer shots, rollers, hyzer-flips, and just dead strait awesomeness with this thing, and I love it. It was dirving as far or farther than many of my go-to distance drivers at higher speeds. As I have learned, less is more a lot of the time in disc golf.

Overall this is a fantastic disc. It feels great, does what it's supposed to, and is extremely versatile. I am putting this in my bag immediately and I highly recommend everyone gets a Renegade in their hand.

My Dynamic Discs Renegade in Lucid plastic (174g) is a great distance driver.  I like this disc because it has a good grip, is very durable, and flies far.  I can get this disc to fly a variety of ways.  I can turn it over on a predictable anhyzer, I can throw it straight with a little fade (especially nice to throw it low under a branch or limb with lots of glide), and I can turn my wrist and put a nice hyzer finish around an obstacle if needed.  I have heard other players say this is a great disc for rollers.  I can't personally attest to that, as my roller still needs some practice, but when I start to practice it, I will make sure to reach for my Renegade.

A word to the wise, I have lost this disc to the right when I have REALLY tried to step into one, so this disc is not a no-brainer to throw, but it is a great disc that can do many things.  I would highly recommend putting one of these in your bag.

This is quickly becoming my goto driver. For wooded courses I find this is the best thing in my bag to throw dead straight for 350 feet, or hold a gentle anny for the same distance.

I get a fair bit of turn out of it, and it'll easily flip over if you're not careful, but if you give it a little bit of hyzer on release, it'll usually go straight, and has almost no fade.

I have other discs that I can throw further, but for some reason I get a very consistent release out of this disc. For me it's a slightly longer control driver, and that means it's the workhorse driver for technical courses.

Very beginner friendly disc, you don't need much power at all to get this thing to sail 300 feet. This is probably the first disc I ever owned that flew perfectly the very first time I used it. It took no time at all to learn.

Renegade is great for people with middle of the pack arm speed for getting max distance and controlled long turnover shots.

I can put it out on a hyzer line and flip it to go far or leave it flat and have it stay straight then turn towards the end of the flight path. Really helpful for shots where you're forehand isn't long enough to make a turn or you can't throw it too high in the air.

Absolutely fantastic disc, for any skill level.

I don't have a 'power arm' and this disc is my longest disc to date! Great S-curve flight pattern off the shelf. Seasons into a long S-curve with a lot of forward-penetrating-fade. Add anhyzer and this thing is a great finesse, turning driver. Can even throw huge rollers.

Stronger arms will see a hyzer-flip, frozen-rope machine. Seasons into a roller.

If you want a controller, high-speed driver and don't have a big arm GET A RENEGADE!

Yes, another DD review. Guess I am just smitten with the discs that Lat is cranking out for these guys. At any rate, the Renegade is one that I put off as being too understable/slow to be of use for me. Wrong. This is a great flyer. It has enough turn to grab some extra distance or use in tailwind, but it hooks up good in the end. No turn/burn for me, at worst it may have only flattened out at the end of an any throw. Mine is a lucid with dyemax flag, may be a bit more stable than some of the other plastics. For me this thing is money, easy 380-420ft with control placement. Great disc. Forehand it gives extra distance, but gotta not snap it too hard. Also good use in tailwind for FH as well.

I thought this would be a stable driver, and for me now it's the best S-curve disc in the bag. I've only had it about a month now so I'm have not yet got it down all the way. This is not a disc that you want to through into a head wind. No wind or tailwind I'm grabbing my Renegade ready to crush.

I'm getting more distance out of the Renegade than just about any other disc. I don't have a lot of power, and my max distance throws are typically about 330 feet. I can get this distance with the Renegade without having to try and throw my hardest. On my home course there is a 330 foot up-hill shot over a ravine that I have never cleared. Did it with the Renegade yesterday. For me the Renegade turns nicely, glides forever, and fades back giving a nice S-curve and max distance. Last week while I was playing in Iowa the Renegade did flip over on me a few times. Here at elevation, that hasn't happened. Not sure if the lower altitude had something to do with it, or if I was just trying to throw to hard. The Renegade is staying in my bag, and is the disc to use when looking for distance.

This disc is very good for newer to intermediate throwers and I have found that it can even be used as a long distance control driver. If I put about 60-70% on this baby and just focus on the release point I want, I can put her on the frozen rope express down to the basket at about 335-350. The disc will certainly fly further than that, but if you have 450+ power it will be a roller for you unless you put it on a significant hyzer. I find that for extra long distance drives, the under stability of this disc make it unpredictable for me. That said, I really like this disc and I just ordered myself another last night in the fuzion plastic, as my first one was in Lucid.

Got my misprint Lucid Renegade, 175 grams from my buddies here at Infinite Discs. What else can I say about this disc than WOW! The disc feels a little sharp on the inner rim, but it still fits comfortably in the hand. One of my teammates had thrown this disc prior to me getting it and he said it was flippy, so I was skeptical. Dynamic Discs has gone 2 for 2, with the Judge as one of my top putters and now the Renegade, that will have a permanent spot in my bag. Before I talk about the flight of this disc, let me describe one of my best drives ever last week. So this hole is 474 feet, downhill with OB on the left, trees guarding the last 150 feet on the right side, and a usual crosswind from the left. I took out my renegade, imagined the flight of the disc, and began my routine. I threw it flat, aiming at the OB line, and watched it turn right with the wind. It just ducked under the trees on the right, and right then I knew it was good. It then flexed back to the left, skipped off the dirt, and slid up right under the basket! I was playing with my roommate that day and he said it was absolutely nuts. So I gave you a little picture of what the flight is like. I will admit that this disc does not do very well in headwinds or crosswinds from the left, but if given enough air, this disc will be able to come out of its high speed turn and come back left enough to finish straight on the target line. I would rate this disc more like a 12, 6, -3, 3. It definitely reminds me of a slower Katana with a smaller rim. I recommend this disc to any disc golfer, just because of the shot-shaping ability and how easy it is to throw far. Amazing disc and I would have bought another one, had I aced that hole! Maybe I'll get one in the future
