Very flippy. Great for rollers or in the woods. If you hit it on the right line, it will go forever.

Bought as a beginner who wanted a high speed distance driver. As my arm speed has increased this disc has got more and more understable for me and has had a spot in my bag the whole time. Does feel like it has a smaller rim, and is quite flat which helps with my grip. Can get my max hyzerflip distance with the thrasher.

Great consistent and easy distance. This is my most reliable driver as long as there is no wind.

For intermediate players, the ESP Thrasher absolutely bombs. This is the first disc I ever got over 400 feet in a field and in a scoring round. The disc is pretty shallow and the rim isn't too wide which makes it comfortable in a lot of people's hands. The only problem that I have with the disc is that the angle control can be finicky and if you don't get enough hyzer, it can absolutely turn straight into the ground. While I wouldn't recommend the Thrasher for beginners, it is a great disc for the step up to true distance drivers.

Easy hyzer flip disc for a beginner who is looking to learn how to hyzer flip and long distance turnovers. Idk how i got one as flat as i got it, but its a good and easy flippy distance driver.

No High speed is beginner friendly, but if your just breaking into the higher speeds this is a nice understable distance shot. flips up to flat and turns over holding for quite a while. good for those long RHBH anny fairways.

This disc reminds me a lot of an innova tern. It gets pretty flippy when worked in a bit. When new it stays pretty stable. It is a little too understable for me to want to throw often. I believe this would be a solid first distance driver for someone moving up from fairways. It is a solid disc. Not my favorite, but pretty good overall!

A good distance driver for those with smaller hands. The rim feels a bit too small to be comfortable for me but I know others who love it.

I have 3 Thrashers (2 in ESP and one in Ti) and they are my go to backhand distance drivers, unless there is a strong headwind. My max distance is 330-350 depending on the day and the Thrasher has a beautiful flight for my arm speed.

Forehands- For me these are a backhand only disc, but I have thrown some big forehands when there is a good tailwind.

I highly recommend this disc for anyone who has an average arm speed and is looking for more distance. Seriously, just get one (or three)!

Another staple of my bag that I absolutely love. I progressed onwards from the Heat to the Thrasher, and the progression was perfect. Heat I started to be able to turn over excessively, so I grabbed a Thrasher and get a light controllable flip and plenty of distance. Bigger arms will get the bigger flip, but for me I just get a minimal flip and distance.

My theory is if you take a 12 speed disc and throw it at a 9 speed, that 3 difference comes off of turn. So this being -3 turn, turns into 0 turn. I can throw 9.5 speed I'd guesstimate, hence I get -0.5 turn out of it.

I can't recommend this for beginners necessarily. If you're able to throw a 12 speed disc, you aren't a beginner. If you're on the cusp of intermediate though, this is the jam.

Awesome distance driver for those like myself that can't throw the farthest. Thrown on hyzer, the disc gives you a nice flip-to-turn flight. Great for open shots to get max distance or turnovers. Can sometimes be a bit touchy and be too understable as well as being practically unusable in a headwind. Highly recommend to players looking for a bomber disc but might not be able to throw something like a Destroyer or Zeus.

I tried this disc out recently because I was looking for an understable max distance driver. I will start out with the cons- 1: this disc didn't feel great in the hand for me. The rim is quite shallow, which caused a lot of early releases on my drives. 2: the speed on this disc is not as high as the flight numbers indicate in my opinion. It says that it is a 12 speed, but it is much more like an 11 or even 10 speed, so getting really big distance is not as easy as with, say a Zeus or Hades. The pros: 1: as an understable driver, it has a great flight. You can throw it high, and it will do a beautiful S shape, and get decent distance. 2: it is very beginner friendly. It does not take a ton of power to manipulate the flight of it.

    Plastic - ESP

    Weight - 170g

    Color - Purple/Pink Swirls

    Thrower - RHBH

I have noodle arms, and am not able to throw super stable nor super heavy discs. When getting a disc above a speed 9, I want something 170g or less.

Right out of the box I had throw this disc on a hyzer or else it would flip and go straight right for miles. On a hyzer flip it would flip up, turn right for a bit, then fade back for a straight shot. I am able to throw mine 350', so as you can tell, not the strongest person out there.

This is a great distance disc for a new player or someone who just wants to increase their distance.

So, recently I have had a string of losing my Paul McBeth Hades.  Lost a PM prototype, and lost 2 other Hades (not all on the same hole or same day :) )  So, the hades is expensive and so I begrudgingly purchased another Hades - but then began my quest to find another (less expensive) disc that flies similarly to the Hades... well guess what !!! This Thrasher disc is AWESOME.  I'm 58 years old, and have been playing for a couple of years.  So my arm speed is medium-slow.  This disc flies almost exactly like the Hades except BETTER.  I let it go flat with as much spin as I can muster, and it stands up right away.  Then flies straight for a long way, tons of glide, and it finishes with a predictable fade forward.  I will replace future lost Hades with this Thrasher.

This is my primary forehand driver as I don't have a lot of power forehand and it has a very flat top. I put lots of hyzer on it and it flips to flat turns, and the reliably fades back with a forehand. It is a little too understable for my backhand, but would be great for people with a few months under their belt. I have also found that this disc works well for effortless downhill rollers.

The Thrasher was, for a good while, the longest disc in my bag. As I was developing my form and moving into distance drivers, I picked up a Thrasher on a used rack on a whim. Boy was I glad I did. The disc is excellent for hyzer-flips that turn over a bit and have a fade back. Easy s-curve distance. Some of my longest measured throws to date are with the Thrasher, pushing over 425 ft. I recommend this as a great first distance driver after you've spent some time working on form with mids and fairways.

This disc was a birthday present from my parents. It quickly became one of my favorite distance drivers. Another review mentions how it feels similar to a wraith, which I agree with. It has a slightly different flight than a wraith, but gets pretty amazing distance. I average about 330 to 350 with this disc in an open field. The plastic is also incredibly durable in esp. My local course is very wooded, but also has some longer holes I use this disc for. It's much easier to control than some other understable disc, but it does require a little power to hyzer flip. If you don't give it enough power it wont flip, and the distance isn't as great. Over all. this is an amazing disc, and my first disc from discraft. I look forward to picking another one up, and checking out some of their other discs.

    Disc - 172 ESP Thrasher

Feel - The rim of the thrasher is definitely smaller than most other 12 speed drivers, it feels more like an 11 speed driver. It has a similar feel to a wraith in my opinion.

Flight - The thrasher is definitely an understable distance driver that has a great amount of glide. It feels very nice for forehands and backhands and flies great for both. If I power down on a thrasher I can throw it very far with lots of control. I also love giving to my younger brother who does not player as often for him to throw forehands with and he can get them out to 250 feet easily and he hardly ever throws. Great disc for beginners and advanced players alike.

Overall - the thrasher is a disc that lots of players should try if they are wanting to get more distance.

    170g ESP Thrasher

I really like the thrasher. I've wanted a hades for so long, but couldn't find one and ended up settling for this disc instead. So far this disc is working its way into my bag. I love this disc because of the amount of different angle of hyzer flips I can use this disc for. If I throw this on about a 30 degree angle I can get it to fly, for the most part, straight the entire flight. If I throw this on a 15 degree angle I can get it to go straight, turn over right a little, and then finish to the left coming back. As I continue to improve my form and game in general I think this will have a for sure spot in my bag, but might be higher in weight. Overall I would recommend this disc for everyone.

I am a huge fan of the thrasher. It took me sometime to find one after I switched over to Discraft discs as my go to. But once I did I never put it down. I can honestly use this driver on any hole at my local course. It is excellent for those hyzer flips to get max distance. But it will also do well holding anhyzer lines without totally flipping over if you have the touch. I can usually get a pretty decent max distance drive out of this when I want to but it will work well for shape shots. Overall I would recommend this to anyone because it can find a home in any ones bag. Beginners would enjoy this as a first distance driver. It is a little high speed but it is understable enough that beginners can usually get a good rip with it. I love my thrasher and plan on keeping one in my bag as long as I keep playing! Go pick one up today and try it for yourself.

The Thrasher is my favorite backhand driver right now. Fairways seem shorter and gaps seem wider when I step to the tee with my Big Z Thrasher. Depending on angle of release, this disc will either only turn, fly straight forever, or fade to finish. It’s an incredible multipurpose driver; you won’t bag it for only one type of throw. Thrashers can be forehanded also. I use mine as an anny forehand disc and can hit some nifty long range throws. If you don’t have one, try one!

I have a max 400’ are and The Thrasher is a great disc for long turnover shots and long Hyzer Flips. It will always show its turn unless thrown on a steep hyzer and even then will flip to flat. It does have more fade than you want out of a roller disc so it doesn’t do well for that.  For beginners this will be a GREAT distance driver and for the intermediate or better player it will find a spot in the bag!

The Thrasher by Discraft is a great first distance driver. The only reason that I say that it is somewhat beginner friendly is because it takes a faster arm speed. Anyone who has been playing for over 2 months should give it a try. You will find this one making it's way into your bag.

I throw a pro d, esp, and z plastic Thrasher. The pro d is the most understable, followed by esp, then the z. I am average to above average arm speed (300-350), these discs are my long bomb discs. I can start them on a good hyzer with power and watch them flip up and turn then fade back reliably. Tailwinds, and headwinds, will effect the flight drastically obviously, but for a player who doesnt have pro level arm speed, this disc will be your distance breaker. It is also great for rollers or big anhyzer shots. Overall a disc that can help lower level players reach a distance they might have thought unattainable before.

I think this is a good disc, but I find it to be a little finnicky for me. It feels good, and I like it in the ESP plastic. I just find that it is too touchy for me. Like I have to throw it with just the right hyzer and power to get it to fly well without turning and burning, or just fading out early. I guess what I mean is it isnt very forgiving. This is probably just do to me not having perfect form, or power control. It is a disc worth trying out, because I know a lot of Arm have success with it.

The Thrasher found its way into my bag as a slightly more understable version of the Tern. If I have enough room for a huge flex, this is the disc I go to. It will turn and glide for a LONG time, so it needs a lot of space for its full flight. If I do have that space available, I can absolutely crush some distance (for me) with this disc. I have had a few drives with this easily 50' past where I normally end up with my other drivers. However, I wouldn't pull this  one out in a headwind.

Feel: This disc feels great in my hand. I'm a fan of the ESP plastic in my hand, as it offers good grip and durability. This disc has a wide rim that definitely feels like a distance driver in hand, but it isn't super wide either, so it fits very nicely.

Flight: This disc is great for the super long range, majestic turn-over shots. Full power, this disc will turn and turn and land flat without coming back. That quality makes this disc super controllable, this disc will respond to any angle you put it on well.

Comparisons: This disc flies similar to a westside sword, maybe with a little less fade at the end. Like a faster beat in Valkyrie. This type of disc is an essential in the bags of intermediate players. If you're looking for a hyzer flip disc which can bomb, you've got it in the thrasher.
