    Pro-D Details

Pro-D is Discrafts affordable basic plastic blend. This isn't the most durable plastic, but it provides good grip and is very affordable. For old school disc golfers that like to "break in" thier discs for varying flight paths, Pro-D is an excellent choice. It is also one of the most popular blends for putters and is often referred to as "putter line" plastic.

I threw this putter after starting with an Innova Aviar and it took quite some time to adjust. That said, the ridge on the top is perfectly placed for my thumb and the disc feels great in my hand. I still use my Aviar for approach shots, but the Banger GT is my preference for straight forward putts. It still has a tendency to roll or bounce a little when I throw it, but it doesn't move far so I prefer it to other super grippy / rubbery putting alternatives.

Tried several manu's putters with good results but I ordered 2 of these to try. Bro....We are 2cd year duffers in our 50's so not a great deal of arm strength or technique. This disc flew dead straight with a slight curve. Very forgiving of your lack of technique. Aim in the direction you want it to go and it floats there. It's all we use on a local par 3 woods course. Most holes are straight but not overly long however, lots of trees requiring straight shots. This disc does it in spades. Even got a longer Par 3 shot within 5 ft of the hole. Great disc for beginners. The grip is superb  and the ring on top lets you get the same grip every time.

My go to putter! Just got this in the Jawbreaker plastic as well. The thumb groove is as they advertise with it being very comfortable in the release.

I have putted with a few different discs but the Banger GT has won my heart! I have it in x-soft plastic which just feels very comfortable for me. I will admit that it is very soft, but if you like that, the groove only adds to the comfort in my hand. I have a few and the x-soft flies dead straight when thrown off the tee. I feel the groove helps me be consistent, especially with thumb placement on top of my putter. It now has a special place in my bag!

    Best Disc Golf Putter!

Easy to throw and easy to putt with. The Banger has a good amount of glide and varying amounts of stability depending on the plastic. I carry 4 of them in my bag at all times. I have an old pro-d one that is the main one I putt with, a jawbreaker as my slightly more stable one for putting, a 150g x-soft one for long putts uphill or obstructed where I can't use my legs, and an esp one for throwing.

This disc is great for anyone who wants to have a consistent grip for your putts.  Throw on a slight anhyzer and it stays where it should.  Predictable with a bit of practice.  100 ft and in for me.

Love my bangers for all putts and straight drives. Even with the d-line plastic mine are still in really good shape. Only neutral flying putter I use.

This disc has completely changed my putting game for the better. The bead provides a consistent shelf to place your pointer finger on and the groove gives me a consistent placement for my thumb. This dummy proof grip has added a really consistent advantage to my game, and the groove functions to give me a nice push as it leaves my hand. This disc is very unique as the groove top is unlike any other putter I have used, but it never felt foreign or required any sort of a learning curve or feeling-out process. Right from the beginning it served as THE putter that fit my putting stroke perfectly. The Titanium Swirl plastic is the most understable plastic I have, and the Jawbreaker is useful in colder weather. The ESP plastic is the most glidey, but does not catch the chains as reliably. Pro D is the most reliable and useful plastic for me, and even when seasoned it functions well and grippy.  I can not really speak to its approach utility as I am happy with the current discs that fill that role, but the few times I have thrown it for fun, it keeps a nice straight line with a reliable fade at the end and can handle a fair amount of torque.

I bought this putter trying to see how it would fly at a putting putter. I did not think the groove track would feel good to putt with but I felt it would be nice to throw. I found that I did like this disc a lot. I could throw it at about 70-75% power and get this to fly very straight with a slight fade at the end. It flies really nice out of the box and a lot of slower armspeeds should be able to utilize this disc as a controlled throwing putter. Not everyone will like the groove track but I did find it to feel nice when you are throwing this putter off the tee. I am excited for the pro-d plastic to break in a little bit to see how this disc will fly. If you need a straight putter that will have some fade out of the box check out this disc.

I invested in a Pro-D Banger GT for my first putter, and no matter what I always come back to it for it's just f'ing great feel. I have Aviar's and they are not bad, but the feel and flat flying characteristics of the Pro-D Banger GT, are something you can just trust in many different weather conditions. It's also great for spin putters! They don't call it a banger for nothing. Tell me where I can buy more PLZ! I joined, just so I could make this review. :)

This is has been a very fun disc to throw for upshots but I am still getting comfortable with it. It is sensitive to the angle you release which can be a good or bad thing depending on how consistent your form is. I've been able to throw on beautiful straight lines but I've shanked a few and cost myself some strokes. Overall I'd recommend this disc and I'm excited to keep learning about it. UPDATE: I'm moving this disc up to 5 stars. It has become my go to upshot disc as my form has improved.

The Banger GT runs smoothly but the top lip just adds another place for my thumb to get caught up. I thought I would have more control of the disc from this feature however, every time I throw this disc from 30+ feet out I find the disc gets slightly caught up from my thumb grip.

Love how this disc feels in my hand, the thumb track is perfectly placed and it feels great. The plastic has a solid feel. I've had this disc for a year now. It is very beat up now but it still holds its flight fairly well.

As it is beaten in it gets a little understable, it got beaten into the perfect neutral. I can shape this disc's flight path into whatever I want. I use it for a few drives, or better said far upshots, I don't get very far throws with it.

Putting with this banger is wonderful. I would use a push put and it would fly straight. Turbo putting doesn't work very well. It doesn't glide long enough and is a little too overstable for this type of putting style.

Very very fun disc. Easy to throw for beginners and fun hyzer-flip disc for anyone else. Very helpful for pointing out form issues and learning control shots. I don't bag these anymore but sometimes I wish I did, they're just so fun to toss.

    Fun for upshots

I found a black Banger GT this weekend that was unmarked. It had some scuffs but looked pretty new. While I had thrown the Banger Groove Top in the past, it had been awhile.

I really liked the overall stability of the Banger. The Groove Top is actually pretty comfortable and certainly beats out Innova's Thumbtrac. I prefer a beaded putter, and the Banger GT indeeed has a small bead. With just a little hyzer and a little height, the Banger GT flew far, flat and with fade. Good disc for upshots, but I don't need it in the bag.

I tried this putter after getting it in a box of misprints. It's slightly overstable and easy to use, but the truth is, I just don't like it. Having thrown flat putters only so far, having the groove on top felt strange in my hand. Every time I released it for a putt I didn't like the feel of it. Not saying it's a bad disc, but it certainly wasn't for me. I'd make sure you know if you like the groove or not before buying one. If you do, then you will likely enjoy this disc. I got the soft banger-gt and like the gummy-ness of it.

The Pro-D Banger was my putter of choice for a couple of years and was the first putter that I actually bought a half-dozen dsics just for practice. I still enjoy this very stable, straight-shooting putter, though I've tried to branch out a little bit and try others recently. The thumb groove just felt great to me and seemed to psychologically help with my putting technique (still a work in progress).  I always recommend this putter to new players and they seem to enjoy the feel fo the disc as well.

Picked up a beat in used Yellow Pro-D at Disc Stalker near Atlanta when I 1st started playing. Got my 1st birdie with it that day as well. After playing g for months now I use it for anhyzers approaches and get out of trouble anneys. Also death putts cause this disc will just fall out of the sky.

IMO....greatest putter of all time. Nothing feels this perfect in my hand. The groove top mold allows my thumb to sit in the exact same spot every time I putt. It creates a level of consistency for me that no other putter has done. If a disc feels great in your hand then it sets a tone for consistency. It also helps that the Banger holds a nice stable flight without fading out too much or flipping over. Just the right amount of stability. This putter is epic. Nothing else like it.

If you like spin putting this one is a bully! It likes being thrown with authority but not as much as the bullhead Rhynos! It doesn't glide as far as a Wizard but shorter comeback putts and a lot less rollers. Slam em at the pole and they drop like flies. Soft Banger is glidier and don't do the job as well. Tear the Pro D up and they only get sweeter.

I wasn't very sure of this putter when I first got it, I actually won it from a tournament. Figured I would give it a try, and I have hit 3 aces with it this year at our short course ~200 ft. holes. I love it now, and actually just ordered more of them. It's heavy enough to be reliable in a head-wind, but has a great "float" and settle. Being able to hover it out 8' over the ground lets it sit prime height for giving short holes or approaches a look at going in while still maintaining a close enough settle to make in 2.

Initially I thought the "groove" in the Banger GT was gimmicky. I didn't really like it for putting and never really gave this disc a chance.

Then, two years later while doing some tests throwing only Discraft, I threw the Banger GT in my bag and started using it. I absolutely love this disc for approach shots where I use a fan grip, and really short holes off the tee. Having the thumb groove just gives me more control and helps my shots to be so much more accurate. I also really like using the Banger for anhyzer shots where you need to curve right around a tree. The banger holds its line fairly well, but the spin I can get on it compared with other putters just makes it better.

I liked this disc so much that in a tournament I played in this weekend I used a Pro-D Banger instead of my normal Vibram putters, and am buying one for myself with my tournament winnings.

The GT has that groove top which means although it's a great disc you are going to have to hold it and throw it to really know if you are going to like how it feels. I don't dislike the groove, but I don't feel like the groove top is for me.

I tried to like this disc. It's one of the discs I tried to replace my wizard with. It doesn't roll like the Wizard does, which is a definite advantage, but I can never hit the longer putts with it. Not sure why, but it just doesn't fly straight enough long enough for my taste.
