The YAN is a slower mid-range disc with a deep rim that feels almost like a large putter. It flies dead straight with even a light touch and minimal power. It's a great, glidey disc for approach shots straight up the gut to the basket.

As these “catch” style discs are gaining popularity with bigger companies, I feel like the Yan is getting far too overlooked. Rim is a bit more shallow than a Glitch or Spore, which may make this more comfortable for some. Flight numbers seem fairly accurate, as the glide allows you to get some good distance on a touch shot, and then finish right where it is pointed. Likely will be one of the straightest flying discs you have. However I will agree with others in that it can turn over a bit if given too much power. This is a good intro to the catch style disc at a much more affordable price.

It's fine. Nothing too exciting. It's a really cool stamp and a fun novelty disc to have, but you can't put any sort of power on it before it just tanks off to the right. Flies straight and true if you have the touch, but there are many, many more reliable discs I would recommend before this one. Off the top of my head, the mako3, MD3, MD1, Buzzz, Roc...the list goes on and on. Fun disc to try out, fun disc to have hanging around my closet. Not a disc that I bag in any capacity.

I have this disc in cheap plastic and best plastic.  I'll talk about base plastic first.  I have 2 base plastic at 171g and I highly recommend getting 2 of them as they are dirt cheap and the base plastic degrades faster.  Not to mention for advanced players their is a learning curve.  When u pop this thing of on a steep hyzer it flips up fast and will hold the prettiest longest backhand anhyzer lines.  I've even started using this mid as a super glidey putter.  It added major distance to spin and push puts.  And ad putting speeds it will hold straight without losing elevation all the way to the chains.  The premium plastic is far more stable.  Still can't rip it in a head wind but tail winds can take full power and it will get a few degrees of turn then hold straight until the flight is almost over.  This mid range gets 400ft distance with minimal and makes me more comfortable on the puts that were a few feet out of my range.  So.  Buy 2 cheapest and 1 premium and you won't be disappointed.

I picked up a Yan about a month & half ago. i specifically wanted to try it based on it's 3 speed 6 glide rating. As an older player (Late 40's) I was looking for glide distance without needing a lot of power. It lives up to it's 6 glide rating. It feels good in the hand especially for smaller hands like mine. Reminds me very much of a Innova Dart. The reason for only a 3 star rating. I find it very flippy when you put any muscle behind it, at 170g which is my preferred weight. I'm finding it hard to throw straight but works well for anhyzers that you don't want to fade out. The I would rate the turn as -1 to -1.5 rather than the 0 it is advertised as. The Tiger plastic is about what you expect from base line plastic as in not very durable, I don't see it lasting long more than 6/8 months in my bag on my wooded NC courses, but the affordable price makes up for that. If I pick up another it will be in the Phoenix or Dragon plastics.

This is the most straight flying disc I have; and it's a lot of fun to throw with less than full power and watch it keep going and going...it's a great glider.   It's shape and speed makes it a great long-distance putter, but way too fast for close-in shots.  If I have to get through something long and narrow, this is the one I'll pick every time.

Love this disc! Perfect for playing in the wood when you have a small straight gap to get through. Throw this disc level and you are golden!
