The Wei is an ultra-understable moderately high-speed distance driver from Yikun. It has an understable flight pattern that is similar to the Gou. It features a nice, predictable fade at the end of its flight, affording great distance to both new and experienced players with its wide rim and great glide. For disc golfers who loved the no-longer-available Vibram unLace, this is a great substitute.

I received this as my first Mystery Disc for one of my orders, and honestly, I'm not upset about that at all. So far, I like the way this disc flies. I can flip it over or throw it with some hyzer and it fades quite nicely. I was not very familiar with this company but this disc holds a spot in the bag for now.

I got this disc as my mystery disc on my last order. I had never tried anything from Yikun discs before and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this disc. This disc is perfect for my arm speed. My max distance is around 300ish feet, and I can get this disc to turn and flip up nicely. I could see this disc being good for players that like flippy discs or need a roller if they have a bigger arm. The plastic feels really nice with zero flashing or rough edges. This disc went right into the bag!

Easy hyzer flips and turnovers but very understable. It flies slightly farther and more understable than a Valkyrie. On a soft throw under 400ft you can get a nice hyzer flip or flex. Beyond 400ft your drives will be high wide hyzers that turn over and drift far. I pretty much only use this disc when I want to throw high left around trees and have at least 200-300ft of space to the right for the disc to pan all the way sideways.

I am extremely new to this "review" thing (this being my first).  I'd like to cut straight to the chase, though.  I've only been playing a few months, but I've had the luxury of splurging on many discs (thank you unemployment).  I have a Bachelors degree in Mathematics, and a year of graduate school in Statistics.  I am also cynical and abrasive thanks to years of work in the service/entertainment industries.  I would most likely consider most of you that read this review as mindless oxygen thieves that are stealing my precious O2 as you breathe through your mouth and wonder how I can say such things. The short answer to that question is: I HAVE EARNED THE RIGHT.  I suppose that is enough of my petty insults.  Thus, let us continue to the business at hand.

I have over 100 discs in my collection from approximately 7 or 8 (maybe more) different manufacturers.  Early on in my disgusting expenditure of money, I noticed a few things: 1) every disc has flight values assigned by the manufacturer 2) every manufacturer has more than one type of plastic, and most importantly, 3) these discs are made by humans and not forged in a volcano by Vulcan or Hephaestus (I don't care which one of those is correct you mythology geeks). I have worked in a machine shop where I operated CNC machines. I realize that men, and to a lesser extent machines, are quite frequently fallible. Thus it is my belief from empirical evidence that there are far fewer types of plastics than our sellers would have us believe. Their goal is to sell them to us and make money.  Why do you think Prodigy started manufacturing in China with the new "Ace-Line"?

I purchased this disc in phoenix line plastic. I noticed immediately the difference in the flight numbers which are listed as 10, 5, -2.5, 2 for either plastic, dragon or phoenix, by Yikun. Infinite discs has them listed as 10, 5, -5, 1.5. I don't believe that most people would gripe about have of a point in the low speed behavior number. That's believable.  However, the -5 for the high speed behavior is the crux of my argument.  Either someone is calling someone else a liar or there is a misprint that has yet to be corrected or a combination of the two. None of these cases is good.

When I threw the disc RHFH, I was able to get the nice S-curve that I can with my Moonshine Bolt (at a whopping 250'). I also have a Star Mamba, a champion Mamba, and the same for a Road Runner.  I don't think my Phoenix Line Wei is close to the high speed turn of my Mamba. I'd also consider bumping the glide up to 5.5 and the speed up to maybe 12.

I am currently trying to develop a mathematical system of assigning flight numbers based on physical characteristics. I was trained to build statistical models for XXXXXX insurance company in order to predict customer behavior. This is a much simpler endeavor

What you should gather from this, dear reader, is be skeptical. Believe NONE of what you hear, and half of what you see. These are my opinions, and I could be wrong.  I'll be the first to admit if I am.

Yikun has super understable distance drivers down. The Wei is another touch sensitive driver that absolutely bombs on hyzer throws for low power players. If you regularily "turn over" discs, don't even consider the Wei. This is a disc that nobody should ever try to "throw hard" but with smooth controlled throws, the Wei provides easy distance.

The Wei has a slightly thicker rim and a little more dome than the Gou. It is supposed to be less understable, but to me was just as understable, if not even more so being that because of the faster speed I tried throwing it harder.

Overall a great disc for new players and long turnover shots, but don't pull this one out in a head breeze, don't try it for forehand throws and don't try to throw it as hard as you can. If it's hard for you to get 300 feet of distance, try throwing the WEI and once you get used to the flight of it, you'll likely have a disc that gives you a new distance record.

Suuuuuuuper flippy. Its almost like a DX Beast flight pattern in a more premium plastic.

I put a ton of hyzer and air on it and it flipped up, turned over, coasted along before gently pulling out of the turn to the ground to about 350', but it required A LOT of room vertically and horizontally to get full flight

I bought this disc not really researching or looking into it, more out of curiosity as to how it threw.  I didn't pay attention to it being understable or stable and the second it left my hand, I knew it was a goner.  It was so understalbe I was shocked and how quickly it turned.  Lost it in a river, some lucky passerby may find it down the road.
