The LU or LUAN is a wide-rimmed, high-speed driver designed to be a bomber for intermediate and experienced players. With slight understability upon release and a predictable, prominent fade, it will draw a beautiful S-curve through the sky as it maximizes your distance potential.

    Phoenix Star Details

The Phoenix Line plastic is long-lasting and has a great, translucent appearance. The Phoenix Star blend adds extra sparkles to the mix for added appeal and often has a much gummier feel with good grip.

I have few yikun discs in the bag that I like but so far have only tried their tortoise line. Decided to take the plunge and try something new with the Liu. In person the disc looks really sick, the metal flakes really make this disc shine and it has a really cool look in hand. For intermediate players this disc does exactly what you would expect and is pretty overstable and I think it would be a great disc for some people.

My reasoning for the 3 rating is the plastic itself. First time pulling this disc out of the bag the plastic feels incredibly strange. I was expecting this to be more like a champion plastic without much bend but upon pulling it out its extremely flexible. This disc feels like you could bend it into a taco which personally I was not a huge fan of.  It's personal preference and the disc is as advertised but personally I don't like super flexible disc especially in the distance driver slot and this plastic is suuuper flexible.

I got one of these wondering if it could fill a more OS King type role in my bag, but it wasn't exact what I thought it might be. That doesn't mean it wasn't very good though.

To start, I'd thrown a lot of Phoenix plastic from a few years ago and the Phoenix star is totally different. It's like a glitter version of Fluid plastic, very gummy and easy to get a good grip.

The glide is nice but not crazy, and it has some turn when I give it a nice hard FH rip but thrown level and hard it will do a nice S curve flight and do a short tumble of a finish.

Backhand it will hold the line really well and then break into a big sweeping fade. If given some anhyzer it will hold it for a while and then whip back to left pretty quickly.

Overall it's a really nice disc that could work for a lot of people and fills some goods spots for players at different levels.
