The Gou (Chinese for Sky Dog) is a very understable fairway driver that is ideal for beginners. If you're looking for something that will get easy distance this is it. For more experienced players, the Gou is great for straight-line hyzer flip shots.

I've seen this disc work very well for beginners when having them test out several of my discs to find ones that will work best for them on their early rounds of disc golf. They typically get good forward distance without getting a strong left or right turn like more stable discs. I've been pleased with how it performs for me, though, too: usually for long throws where I need a straighter finish (or sometimes a slight right fade for RHBH throws) at the end of flight compared to what most of my more stable discs tend to give me; and/or when I have a strong tail wind. I haven't tried going roller with this yet, but it may be a good choice (thus far I've been using beat-in DX-type discs for my occasional roller attempts). Good luck throwing into the wind with this: you might be able to put enough hyzer on it to still get the flight line you want, or maybe even a successful roller, but it's likely to dump out too soon and go cut roller on you. I highly recommend the Phoenix plastic (similar to C-Blend, champion, etc). I like the feel in the hand and at release, and the way it holds up with use.

The Gou has been the favorite addition to my bag this year. The flight numbers aren't bluffing and I get a ton of turn out of this disc- especially with my lower arm speed. The Phoenix line reminds me of the Lat. 64 Opto or Discraft Z-Lite plastics and feels great in the hands. With the affordability on top of the great feel I'm next to bagging the disc before I even throw it. After my first throw though? I'm in love with it! I look for excuses to throw this majestic puppy every chance I get. The disc turns pretty hard and doesn't punish my beginner skill level. Feels great every time I throw it!

This is one of my most favorited discs in my bag. I agree that the disc is "domey" but I feel my grip of the disc is fine and in some ways I like it even more. When playing in moderate-severe windy conditions, I will use this as much as I can on the course. At about 250-feet out and needing a confident in the middle of the fairway disc, I will almost always take this out. This is the disc I used when almost getting and Ace....chained it but fell out.

Love this disc. To date, this disc was the closest I came to an Ace shot. Love to pull this out when I need a confident hyzer-flip in mild to severe windy conditions. 250-ft out, need to keep in fairway, this is my go to. Phoenix plastic is my favorite, and yes it is a domey type of disc, I feel the grip is just fine.

The Gou is a very understable fairway driver. It does not take much power to get this disc to turn over, and it can be hyzer-flipped with relative ease. The disc and the Phoenix plastic is comfortable in the hands, but it can be difficult to grip if the disc is wet.

This disc is very dome-y and made the grip a little awkward.  Plastic is a Star-ish blend.  Pretty slick brand new. This disc is not that under stable for me. Makes a nice S similar to my Valkyrie. I purchased the Wei also and it was WAY more under stable. It may not make my back because of the large dome and awkward feel, but I love to try new understable discs.

The Yikun Gou is super understable and sooo fun to throw with a big sky hyzer throw. It is without doubt one of the most understable drivers on the market and absolutely perfect for players that don't get a lot of distance. If 250 feet is a good throw and you, are looking to stretch your distance out past 300 try the Gou, it's likely the most simple thing you can do to get that extra distance. Because this disc is so understable you have to throw it with touch and smooth clean form, otherwise it will turn over and not go where you don't want it.

Disc golfers who overpower their throws, or release discs at an anhyzer angle will not like this disc. The Ghou is designed for easy distance on Hyzer flip throws. I'm able to push this disc out to about 350 feet, but if I try and throw with full power the results are never good. This is also a disc you will never want to pull out in a headwind, but one that you will want to pull out if you have a huge tailwind directly behind you.

The Gou also works well for long high anhzyer throws and usually holds the line with very little end of flight fade out with my power.

If you're looking to break 300 feet of distance and want a low cost premium plastic disc great for straight line hyzer flips, even for low power inexperienced players, try the Yikun Gou today.

The Gou is capable of some fantastic throws due to its unique flight characteristics.  I first threw it when I was just learning and could get nice S curves from it.  As I improved my form I could use it for weaving in and out of tress thrown at about 70% power.  As I progressed further, It was good for ~280' turnover landing shots about 30 degrees from where aimed.  It lifts during flight and seems like more of a 6 glide.  I have since moved to a Witness and Hatchet for this spot in my bag.

I bought this because Infinite does such a stellar job stocking brands that aren't mainstream, and as long as they stock 'em, I'll be trying 'em.   I was looking for a roller, and I'm also attracted to cool stamps, so I knew it would be a great idea to test the Yikun Sky Dog from China.  The design is really cool (as are most of Yikun's mythical animals), and the plastic has held up surprisngly well for me personally, considering I only throw it at the ground.

Bought this disc because i wanted something thatd fly left when i threw forearm. After a 100% turnover rate, i tried backhanding it.Oh lordy. Ive got a strong forehand but throw backhand like a wee babe. It went damn straight when i gave it very little power and basically handles like an overstable disc if you dont muscle it out there. Obviously I use it in a way that isnt intended, but i quite enjoy it.

    Holy Understable, Batman!

Insta roller! I actually recieved a Gou and Hu from Alan here at Infinite many months ago, and it's taken me this long to write a review. It's not laziness on my part, I just had a devil of a time dialing this disc in. Now that I have, I think I can give a pretty fair assesment of the Gou from Yikun Disc Sports in Phoenix line plastic.

A quick word on the plastic: Phoenix is a very Champion/Z/Opto type plastic. As such, it's pretty standard. It does have a little bit of "grit" to it which enhances the grip. Pretty flexible and extremely durable. While I wasn't throwing it often, I threw it over a long period of time and it has held up very well, especially given the many rollers I was throwing with it, both intentionally and not. The stamp is very elaborate and super cool looking.

Now the flight: this thing is mad understable. Possibly one of the most understable discs I've ever thrown. Eventually I was throwing it on a really steep hyzer at about a quarter power, and it would flip flat and stilll drift off to the right (throwing right hand backhand). Forehands were impossible for me...I straight up couldn't dial them in. Keep in mind that I tend to have a very torque-heavy sidearm throw, so those of you that have better forehand form will see better use out of the Gou. Thrown backhand with power, I was getting instant rollers. Even giving it a fair amount of height, it would bite right into a roller. This isn't a bad thing...when the Gou rolls it rolls with the best of them. Very accurate roller placement that holds the line perfectly. More stable discs are a little harder to put down on the right angle, but the Gou doesn't have that issue.

This disc might be a little high speed for younger or less powerful arms, but it still serves as a good begginer disc. It was too much for my 9 year-old daughter, but my wife was getting long turnover and even some s-curve shots with it. The Gou has great glide and even for smaller arms has very little, if any fade. It didn't make my bag (I prefer other discs for rollers) but if you are looking for a seriously understable disc that will last a long time, the Gou might be what you're looking for.
