The Westside Discs Sling is the midrange disc of the 2016 Trilogy Challenge. The disc was released initially in Tournament plastic and later in the year in VIP plastic. It is a very straight flyer, that leans to the slightly understable side.  It will hold any line you put it on, which makes it a great all-purpose disc!

This is my disc. I love the feel in Tournament. Straight with a little fade at the end. I can hyzer this around a tree easily.

The Sling is a magical mold for me.

It has very little turn, phenomenal glide & a very mild fade.

I use the Sling a ton for straight shots that need a subtle finish. The stability of this disc is very forgiving. Slight turn overs will pull back to flat and will finish straight. Turn overs hold . the line but flatten enough to land flat. Hyzer flips won't flip up much and will lock onto the hyzer.

I liken this disc to the best version of a "beat mid" that you can imagine...but right off the shelf. I'm a Roc thrower but I've been using a ten disc set up for several months now. The Sling is an excellent mid to pair with something more OS (Gila for me, Bard at other times).

Overall, I think the Sling is a disc that belongs in every bag. It's versatility, reliability & ease of use is something that anyone can benefit from.

This is a good, straight, glidey disc with minimal fade. It flies along the lines of a Buzzz or Truth. With power it can be a bit flippy, but controlled, it is a straight flyer with enough glide to serve as an excellent approach disc or mid off the tee. It's also super comfortable in the hand, like a cross between Buzzz/Truth as far as hand feel goes

10/10 one of the most dependable discs in my bag. Zero problems the only way this disc will go wrong for you is if you're the one who messes up the throw. Super straight

First I had an Origio and it flew just like the numbers, could switch to fan grip and get a long fade out of it, loved to versatility of this disc. Putting it on annhyzer it will hold all the way, it very easily flips to flat.

TP: I wish I could say this disc was as good in Tournament but it just isn't the same. Takes significantly more power than the Origio to flip. Also has a slight turn that if I put too much on it goes right, its just finicky with those two factors. Sadly other discs have replaced the Origio Sling, and the Tournament Sling fills a new niche.

I got my sling when it came out in the trilogy challenge and really liked it as a dead straight midrange. I don't think I have ever thrown a disc that was so straight out of the box. I was very new and excited to try new discs out during that time and so I forgot about it for a year and a half, then decided I was going to rummage through my old discs out of curiosity to see if there were any that were worth saving or putting back in my bag. This disc made me question why I ever started searching for new midranges. It really can do almost anything you would want a straight midrange to do. This disc really shines in the woods when you need something to hold one line from your hand all the way to the ground. It fits comfortably in the hand for backhand and forehand, and was my favorite "get out of trouble" disc, because it always seems to find a way between the trees. I sadly lost this disc on the course and haven't found another disc like it so far. I would recommend this disc to anyone, I'm confident that anybody can find a use for it.

The Sling is a great disc for new and advanced players alike. This thing has a straight neutral flight that really lends itself to some line shaping. It really did not require much power to get this disc to flip up and glide for some good distance. The flight is very similar to that of a Comet. Like the Comet, this disc is going to be great to check your form with. It is very similar to the Warship, but doesn't require the same speed to get it going. Overall a great disc.

I found this disc at a course  and I'm so glad I did. This mid is so straight and it makes me disappointed that I wasn't able to play a trilogy challenge with it.  When I found it the disc was pretty new and it was dead straight. I put it out on a little hyzer and it will flip to flat and hold that line all the way to the ground. If you throw the disc on an anhyzer it will hold that line and eventually come back a little. I would give this disc to a beginner who is gaining a little power and needs a straighter mid range or a more advanced player who is looking for a laser straight disc/turnover disc

Wow! This disc is the second coming of the Ontario mold Cobra from the '90s! Flies extremely straight when thrown flat, holds anhyzer lines okay, hyzer lines pretty well too. I wish I had bought one sooner.

Not the greatest in headwinds, but that isn't its purpose. This is a true point and shoot long approach/short midrange.

Westside's tournament plastic is the best gripping and feeling out there in my opinion.  Very, very controllable for shot shaping and flight variations based on grip.

The flight numbers on this disc are an interesting story: When first released at the '16 Trilogy Challenge they were 4,5,-1,0. When released in VIP plastic they were 5,5,0,1. Infinite rates it at 4,5,0,1. This is clearly a speed 4 disc, and I think it should be 4,5,-1,0.

If you were a fan of the old Cobras (before  they became stupid understable) or just want a point and shoot midrange, get this disc!

Fell in love with this disc after using it for last years Trilogy challenge. I lost it then bought a slightly heavier one (I think its 176) and its my go to straight-stable mid range. It can take solid power on a hyzer line go straight with minimal fade and not turn over, and will also flex nicely when thrown flat and the right amount of power. It would take a lot to get me to switch over to a new mid after throwing this and mastering it over the last 8 months

The sling is one of the discs that was used in the 2016 Trilogy Challenge. The Sling was my most used disc of the Trilogy Challenge 2016 and it treated me very nicely. Since the Trilogy I've integrated this disc into my section of midranges. It's a disc that I still need to use more, but it's one that is very easily shaped. It's a straight shooter if you want it to be, with a good amount of glide, it's also one however that I found to be more overstable than the numbers listed. It's a disc that follows your form, if you want it straight and your form merits that it will go straight. If you put it on a poor hyzer, it will glide into a poor hyzer line.

A great disc that I would recommend to anyone that is a fan of Trilogy Plastic, as well as a great disc for newer players.

Very easy straight distance with this disc with a mild fade. This disc has lots of glide so on long shots that you need to point and shoot this would be great disc for this.

I used this disc for a few holes at the trilogy challenge in my town. It was a great disc, but not anywhere near what the numbers have it rated as to me. I found it to be fairly overstable. Even when thrown with full power it would turn a little for me, but then it would always come back with the exception of the one time I had a decent head wind.

The tournament plastic is great as always, has a nice feel in the hand. This disc is the one of the three that will be making its way to my bag, I really liked how it flew and it fits perfectly for what I have missing from my bag.

I'm a little reluctant to switch mids.  So it was a slow process for me to put this disc in the rotation. I got it in a June trilogy challenge.  What I found is that over some bad upshots, I'd throw this disc second and surprisingly it did exactly what I wanted.  For me it really shines in an anhyzer shot, it holds the line all the way to the ground.  It's a disc that was missing in my bag until now.  It's very beginner friendly.  There's probably other discs out there that are like this but this is a great disc to put on any line you need it to.

Got this one at the Scottsdale, AZ Trilogy Challenge this weekend. Right away felt like a mako3 with a small bead and that worked out great. A bit overstable but for slightly windy approaches this disc is perfect. Holds lines extremely well and for me feels comfortable in the hand.

Profile: I dislike the way this disc feels.  I don't like the bead on the bottom, it just never felt comfortable in my hand.

Flight: A bit understable. I had to release this on a hyzer to hold a straight flight.

Comparison: Closest comparison I would make would be a compass, with this being a bit more understable.,

Final thoughts:  I got this in the Trilogy Pack.  I never did have a good throw in the tournament with this disc.  I prefer more stable mids, and like the Evidence more in this role for my bag.

I love the feel of this disc.  It is the only one of this year's Trilogy Challenge molds to make it into my bag.  I call it my point and shoot disc.  It follows any line you put it on with very minimal fade.  I've used it at tournaments on tunnel shots with success.  At the TC I stopped using the Falchion and drove with the Sling 80% of the time.

The sling is a great disc. The grip of it feels excellent in my hand. It feels almost like the evidence.

The stability of the sling is exactly as the description says. When I try to get some good distance off of it and I put power into the throw the disc usually follows a anhyzer path. I can also get the disc to follow decent hyzer lines. I can throw other midranges farther than this one, if it was more stable I bet I could get it just as far as the others, namely the evidence or truth.

Overall this disc is kind of a redundant disc to what I already have in my bag, as such it doesn't get thrown all that much.
