As an overstable, but not too overstable disc, the Boatman makes a good forehand driver for intermediate players looking for distance. This is a fast disc with virtually no turn and moderate low-speed fade.

Distance - 9/10 Just a tick below the glidiest I've thrown, but a strong feature.

Comfort - 8/10 BH power grip feels very comfortable and allows for intuitive angle control.

Windfighting - 8/10 Suitable for up to about 10mph headwind on straight lines, but doesn't have the kind of stability that will bail you out in gusty conditions. The combo of glide and stability is excellent though, top of class. Ideal for routine headwind that might be a touch stronger 30' above the ground (if you knew). Will surprise with reliability, but don't push it.

FH suitability - 8/10 If the rim depth was 1-2 mm less, it would be perfect. As it is, I've found my best results with a (very) slight nose-up grip so that my index finger crests the bottom of the rim for control. With reps will feel intuitive. As for the flight, is an ideal FH driver, will penetrate forward until end of flight. Does not excel at FH into HW like some others.

Durability - 10/10 VIP Glimmer has shown almost zero wear after hundreds of throws. Super high quality in this regard.

Anny lines - 9/10 Tons of fun shaping with this mold. Both FH and BH will reward good angle control with intuitive results. Slight anny for distance flex drives is rewarded with reliable flight and near-max distance for ~400'-450' throwers.

Straight lines - 10/10 I think of this disc as the big brother to a Teebird on straight lines. Can't ask for better.

    Hyzer lines - 10/10 Ideal.

Overall - 9.5/10 on BH, 8/10 on FH. Near perfect driver on BH. Rim depth (for me) makes it unsuitable as FH driver when better options are available, ymmv. Flight as a FH driver is terrific. Exceptional flight characteristics on a variety of shapes in winds less than about 10mph make it a staple disc.

I had a Big Z Flash that I loved and lost. The Flash is OOP, so I looked for a different mold to replace it- I saw someone else recommend a Boatman to someone in a similar situation.
I got the Halloween VIP Glimmer edition, and it flies almost exactly like the Flash but a tick faster. Love it.

Now I know, I know, everyone probably wants to read me ramble about what I liked about the Flash, but I already wrote that review, sorry to disappoint my litany of fans.
