The Ahti is designed to be a really overstable fairway driver which will be useful for spike hyzers, flex shots and windy days. Its flight numbers are similar to the very popular Innova Firebird. This disc will be your go-to for a consistent fade, forehand or backhand.

Love felons?  Want something that goes straight with power but with a typical overstable fade at a controllable 225-250. If you want beef, this disc shows up when you need it.  blunt rim. Typical 9 speed rim, I carry Felons, 1 Ahti, and firebirds and they all serve a purpose.  I might overlap in Firebirds but I mostly use those for thumbers because of flight to plastic consitency and durablitly.  Its overstable, and it will remind you if your arm is not up to speed.

    Disc - 175 VIP Ahti

Feel - The feel of the ahti is very brickish. It feels overstable in the hand. It is very flat topped and has a sharp rim. It feels nice for backhand and forehand grips but you can definitely tell this is an overstable disc.

Flight - The ahti is very overstable. It will fight out of most anhyzers and is probably the most similar stock disc to a FAF firebird that I have found. It is very flat and has great high speed as well as low speed stability.

Overall - The ahti is a great overstable fairway disc that I would recommend to more advanced players due to its great stability.

More overstable than a firebird. I found it much harder to get those sweet anhyzer flexes than the firebird. This thing could have a turn of +1 the amount of straightness that it goes one forehand. This is pretty much a forehand only disc. definitely low glide but I've gotten some wicked skips out of it.

Very similar to a firebird but I like the VIP plastic better as it is just as durable and has a lot better grip. I personally have 2 in my bag in the VIP and tournament plastic. The tournament plastic has more glide and holds straight a little longer but still reliably fades.

Well, since the last two reviews differ tremendously allow me to be the tiebreaker. I have this disc at 175 grams in VIP plastic. I find this disc very comparable to a Firebird, which is a very very good thing. The Firebird is my favorite disc and my go to driver and I believe this disc is close to it. I still prefer the latter but this is still a solid disc, especially for overhand shots and flicks. The flick shots and backhand shots always finish overstable, which is what you want when you pick up this disc. The thumber lines that can be hit with this disc are always consistent and pretty narrow, yet the tomahawk lines pan out more and fetch you more distance. So, if you find this disc, you should try it out instead of hyzering this into the trash!! If you need an overstable driver, I suggest you give this a shot and have realistic expectations in order to get the full effect of this disc. I give this disc 4 stars because I prefer Innova’s version of this mold and it’s not extremely beginner friendly unless you’re an overhand player.

Wow wow wow wow wow!  Attention overhand players oh boy did I find a disc for you. This over stable Control driver absolutely smash is when you give it a summer line or a tomahawk throw. This thing waves through the trees in slices through the air like you couldn't believe also west side discs have very pretty stamps and I like them. Not an overhand player? That's OK give this thing a flick and it will do things for you that you will like you can also backhand this desk on a slight Anhyzer and then I'll give you the beautiful flex that will add 50 feet to your drives.

What fantastic OS fairway. The biggest thing I can say first off is that of all the OS drivers with flight numbers similar to the Ahti, this is by far the beefiest I've tried, and I've thrown several iterations of Firebird, Felon, FD3, etc. If you're a trilogy thrower, or if something like a domier Firebird or FD3 usually fills this slot for you, the Ahti would be a great compliment, especially in VIP plastic. I carry one on top of the Felons I bag, mostly for forehand flex shots. I'm able to throw a low-ceiling shot on anhyzer that will fight out and finish on a hyzer skip, which is such a valuable shot to have in your arsenal. As for feel in the hand, it's also probably the beefiest *feeling* of the discs in this family. Still feels comfy though with a flat dome, but has a touch more chonk in the hand when you hold it after a Felon or Firebird. I'd adjust the flight numbers just a touch, just to accurately reflect the uptick in stability the Ahti has to it's counterparts. The Ahti is absolutely a disc you can end up leaning on on a windy day when nothing else seems to work, it is the polar-opposite of squirrely. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

always loved the firebirds but like trying new discs so I picked up a very flat one. it's very reliable flight but doesn't fly as far as my firebirds and fades hard way quicker (LHBH). Overall its a nice disc and I keep it as a utility disc

I'll keep it simple, this disc is similar in feel to a firebird or felon, but slightly more overstable. Honestly it's slightly more overstable than a brand new Lucid X Felon in VIP plastic, which makes it easier to replace if lost.

I was looking for a disc I could keep low and fade consistently even with a little flex for forehand or backhand throws.  The Ahti fits that need perfectly.  It never fails to fade and is useful to get around and under obstacles whether there is headwind, tailwind or cross wind.  I can throw the Ahti  low forehand for tunnel shots and it is very consistent.  The Pioneer has the exact same flight numbers but seems to have higher glide -- it lifts up during flight with an accentuated fade whereas the Ahti has a more flat fade. I cannot make tunnel shots with the Pioneer.

I also use the Ahti for forehand and backhand approach shots when I need more distance that the Justice or more wind resistance than the Longbowman.

Due to the fade, it is not at all beginner friendly.

This disc took me a while to figure out, as I was a new player and tried to throw this disc like I threw my stable and less stable discs. After I got better and played more and more, this disc does very specific things very well. I use it for spike hyzers and tomohawks to good success.

This is a big brother to the firebird or felon. It is a very overstable disc and and always will fight back to fade hard left (RHBH). It is great for head wind drives and big skip shots. Feels great in the hand. Great disc, Would recommend carrying one in your bag along with your felon or firebird.

Wowza, I'm a huge felon fan and have all different plastics to fill the gaps, but the Ahti has shots the felon doesn't have.  When i power my felons they turn a bit and the Ahti simply doesn't.  It's stable enough that I can really get on it without fearing it turning over on me.  It's a birdie machine.  I've only thrown the VIP so far but one of my new favorite discs for sure.

This disc is beef. It goes where you need it to go: left. It’s very similar to an Innova firebird but for trilogy throwers. This disc is a feat utility disc for dog legs and high headwinds. In flight it’ll hold straight for the first 50% and then start to fade out slowly more and more as it progresses until it’s a full on dump. If you need a reliable OS forehand disc, this will be the one for you. It will never think about turning over on you. But it can definitely be forced on an anhyzer to shape some shots. If you need a big flare skip to get around a corner, guess what, the anti will do that for you too. It will cover everything you need in the OS fairway category.

I tried out a friends Firebird and I loved it...except it was trilogy.  I primarily use this for side arm shots.  The Ahti flies perfectly strait with nice fade in the finish. With the rims design it skips very well.  Im looking forward to this becoming a staple in my bag!

This is a great over stable control driver. I am a huge fan of the Dynamic Disc felon and this shares many similarity. Honestly i haven't noticed much difference between the two, other than the glide being pretty spot on. (slightly lower than the felon) The stamp, as mentioned by almost everyone, is amazing and telling people the name of the disc is always fun as it is an unfamiliar word to almost anyone.

Great for forehands and a very good control drive for back hands, not much else can be said. Its not a meat hook but is perfectly overstable

When the Ahti came out I was very excited. Finally, my Westside Firebird is available, and that is not for from the truth. I have 3 VIP Ahti and they are all in the durable yet grippy VIP plastic which holds up well to scuffs and dings.

The look of the stamp is fantastic. He looks like Neptune with a bad attitude, and the intricacy is great. Another winning stamp from Finland.

The flight is a straight to hard fade for a backhand, and a good skip at that. Forehand it is straight with a hint of turn for me at around 370-400 feet of power, and then a dumpy fade and less skip unless I do a low throw.

These will be a great utility and wind disc for almost any player, and for stronger arms are a good go to workhorse type driver.

Of the three I have, the first two are more stable and have a very flat top and wing, the PLH on one is a bit droopy in comparison so it flies more like a Star firebird would. Makes a better backhand disc for me.

Overall a very solid disc, and one that more people should give a shot.

The first Ahti that I received prior to release was in VIP plastic and it was an animal! Very over stable and exactly what I was hoping for to take of my wind fighting needs, utility shots and all around hard finishing shots.

I've since bagged it in TP plastic as well and it's certainly not as over stable but gets the job done and is reliably over stable. The rim width is great, the flight is great and the stamp/name are great. As I mentioned on the other 2017 Westside release reviews, they absolutely took care of business in their lineup!

I play at 4,500' where discs are more over stable anyhow but this thing is just naturally over stable and fantastic. It's in line with the Dynamic Discs Criminal but with a more comfortable and flatter rim, in my opinion.

This isn't going to be easy for a beginner to throw any reasonable distance but is perfect for utility shots and for bigger arms. Definitely snag one today!

If you are looking for a consistent, very overstable driver, then the Ahti has your name written all over it. Think more overstable than the Felon, with less glide. This disc is amazing for heavy winds, spike hyzers, and shots where you really need to get around something. I initially put this disc in my bag solely for hole 8 at Roots, but since have found more ways to get great shots out of it.

I picked up both a VIP and TP Ahti to try out and really liked them both. This mold is very over-stable; even comparable to the Criminal in my mind. It's a great utility disc for wind, spike hyzers, unconventional lines and everything else you would expect from such a stable disc. I could also see it being OK for some overhands - I don't throw them much myself and the profile and feel of the disc aren't what I would prefer for those shots.

The Ahti is a lot of fun to throw, and very consistent. One aspect I liked about the Dynamic Discs' Criminal is that it wasn't another "hybrid" feeling disc; it felt like a real control driver with a conventional rim. Although the Ahti isn't as blunt/squared as a Trident, XXX, Spark etc., it still has that kind of "hybrid" feel to me. I do like unique discs, but I also like consistency in my lineup.

The flight is just what you would expect; awesome over-stable goodness. If you are looking for a good wind fighter, utility disc, or sweet disc graphics - check out the Ahti. I have tried most of the molds from Trilogy and the Ahti wasn't over-redundant to anything else because of it's unique feel and profile. Overall I really liked the Ahti, it's a lot of fun and totally worth trying out.

I picked up two VIP Ahtis, both close to max weight.

Even before I took them to the park I compared the Parting Line Height and noticed that one was observably lower than the other.  The lower PLH VIP Ahti flies like a beefy Felon.  It's definitely overstable, but has that nice carry of a Felon before it hooks up.

The higher PLH VIP Ahti flies like a XXX, or a champ Firebird.  Very overstable and very dumpy.

I expect I'll be bagging them both since they are about perfectly separated for my arm.

I agree with others here, and abroad about the stamp.  This is 100% my favorite stock stamp from any mfg.  This has been my most anticipated disc since it was announced, and Westside absolutely crushed it with this mold.

After throwing the Ahti, I felt like I'd taken the Westside Fortress out for another spin. The two discs are quite similar. They are both exactly as the ratings suggest-- they only go straight for a little while, then fade hard. It's even hard to force an S-Curve out of a disc like the Ahti. It doesn't have quite as much speed as the Fortress, but it turns all the same. Personally, I'd only be able to use it in fairway driver situations, where I need a disc to navigate around a sharp turn, but I want something that goes further than a beefy mid-range. I probably wouldn't use it off the tee as a driver, unless the basket was only 250 feet away (or less) and hiding behind a barrier.

The Ahti is also useful in head-winds. I gave it a few throws into the wind, and it flew better for me...perhaps even more like the Fortress.

I'd never recommend this as a starting driver to a new player, but it is an excellent overstable utility disc for that fine line between distance and fairway driver.

The Westside Ahti is one heck of a disc. First of all, the stamp is possibly the best I have seen from Westside so far, but I also love all their stamp designs. But besides the look, the Ahti has an awesome flight.

The Ahti is by a true meathook disc. This thing doesn't want to fly as much as it wants to fade. I've been hearing concerns that recent runs of the Felon and other overstable discs aren't as overstable as older runs. If you find yourself in this predicament, I think the Ahti may be the solution. If you give it enough power it will fly straight for a while, but then it comes in and fades like crazy. It reminds me a lot of my Latitude 64 XXX. I have stocked up on a few of those, but I have heard the new XXX are getting to be not as overstable. So I also may be looking to put an Ahti in my bag before very long!

So if you have been looking for that monster meathook disc, but nothing has seemed to fit so far, give the Ahti a try. It might be too overstable for some folks, but I would be surprised to hear anyone say that the disc is not overstable enough for them.

This seems to be a great disc. Shorter than a criminal and fortress and it is more O.S. than a felon. It compliments those discs perfectly.

I wanted the criminal to be a more overstable felon, but it seems just a little longer. The Ahti is what I was looking for.

all 3 discs will still be in my bag. Felon, criminal and now the Ahti!

This disc is quite dumpy, I'll just start off with that! If you're looking for something more overstable than a longbowman, and a bit shorter range than a Fortress, then you're looking at an Ahti.

It is a fun disc to throw! But you don't get it very far before it's hard fade kicks in. I see how this could be a useful disc in the Westside lineup, because there's not much exactly like it. But in the Trilogy lineup as a whole I think there are plenty of overstable fairway options.

I'd say it's quite true to it's flight numbers. I think this disc will excel with me with forehand shots. I'm not very good at them, but I could wimp this disc out there 150-200 feet with a nice little forehand throw to the basket. Backhand would go further for sure, but I do already have similar discs in my bag, like the Felon or Tyrant.

The Ahti does feel good in the hand, it has a relatively low profile and a rim that's easy to grip. Plus, the stamp is cool, so that's a great bonus!
