    Storm Details

Viking Storm plastic is a very durable blend that will maintain the same disc flight for a long time, even after playing heavily wooded courses. This is a clear transparent plastic with a glimmering shine. This plastic grade is comparable with  Innova Champion or Latitude 64 Opto.

I field tested this along with its sibling the Odin, plus a Destroyer, Wraith, Corvette, and Czar. I think the Valhalla's numbers pan out relative to the other discs: Not having the -1 turn like the others, it did indeed start to show its fade sooner -- and its fade proved reliably strong even into a pretty stiff headwind. In fact its fade seemed about on par with the others that have a higher fade rating, but since these aren't brand new like the Valhalla, it's understandable that they might not have the full, strong 3 fade they once did. I like the Storm plastic (and similar ones from other brands) for how it feels and releases, and how durable it has mostly seemed to be (a recent single curb hit with a different disc in Storm plastic really cranked up its understability, unfortunately). I think players will find this to give consistent, overstable performance, but that this will prove too much so for beginners.

Got this disc as a gift knowing nothing about it. I looked up the flight numbers and expected a Destroyer-like flight. It's similar to a beefy Destroyer for sure but more overstable than 0/2, probably closer to 12/4/0/3. It's actually slightly more overstable than my Opto Recoil. Great disc, but not exactly the neutral bomber I was expecting.

Flight is super understandable without the flip and a stable end of the flight. Also just cuts into the wind at 175g. The plastic is a bit slicker than I am used to but this thing rolls forever. I played a course with a fair amount of concrete hazards. I am a beginner/intermediate so I was catching trees and at least 3 full-speed landings on concrete. I can barely find a scratch on this thing. I am impressed with the durability. I can't wait to see how the plastic feels when it warms up.

My forehand sucks and this helped me with those dogleg right baskets.
Great disk to learn your anhyzer angles.

The Valhalla in storm plastic is probably my favorite disc in my Viking collection.  This disc delivers consistent end of flight fade for both RHBH and RHFH lines.  The Storm plastic is extremely durable and provides just the right amount of grip.  The Valhalla may not be the fastest disc in the Viking line but I have found it to deliver the most consistent distance.  You can release this disc flat or on a slight anhyzer and reap the rewards.  The flight numbers on this disc are about as accurate as you will ever see.

If you have 350+ ft of power, this is the disc for you.  The disc will fly very straight for the 80-90% of its flight and finish with a reliable fade.

If you are a beginner or don't have a ton of power, this disc will probably be a great introductory higher speed disc that is neither very over-stable or very under-stable.

First round thrown with this disc and I really liked it. Had nice forehand lines with some sneaky distance off skips. Held a long hyzer pretty well. Thought it might hyzerflip like my westside sword but could not turn it over out of the box, but we will see after a couple of rounds. Storm plastic held up to a hard snowy round, and even felt surprisingly grippy in the cold. The flight plate feels very thin and I could see it being an issue down the road. All things considered it is a great disc to try out a new brand with.

Pretty tough to get any distance backhand... but Forehand, this thing slays. I basically do not need anything else for distance forehand. Really hope Viking Discs is still around, or making a comeback.

Good disc for any type of player; beginner, intermediate or advanced. Very stable disc which specifically allows beginners to get a good amount of distance without worry about throwing your disc into the woods. Would highly recommend this disc.

The Vahalla is a great driver. I threw a 170+ Storm plastic Valhalla. When I gave this driver a lot of power, it didn't flip over and had a consistent fade. I agree with their flight numbers minus the glide number. It did not seem to glide as well as my similar drivers. The discs I threw had quite a bit of dome to it. It is comfortable in the hand and has a consistent release.

The Valhalla is pretty stable, perhaps a little more than I was expecting for a 0 2 disc. It goes straight for a bit and then starts turning outta the sky into a good fade. I wouldn't necessarily praise it's glide either, but that can be good for accuracy. I personally like discs that are less stable than this, so I can flip them up and get big distance. This would be more of a 300-325 foot placement driver, if I needed one.

That being said, Storm plastic feels great and really holds up against the course. The rim feels great, though the disc has a slight dome that could make it feel bigger when fully gripped.

In summary, great hyzer distance disc that may be a tad more stable than advertised.

The Valhalla is not a beginner-friendly distance driver, but it is a very solid distance driver for intermediate to experienced players. I feel like this should have been the first workhorse distance driver in the Viking Discs lineup rather than the Thunder God Thor, since this one has a more comfortable rim (not so wide) and can be used as a very reliable, stable-to-overstable driver. Yes, it will fade every time, but only after you get some good 300+ foot distance even with medium arm-speed.

I love the feel of the Storm plastic that I threw-- it is a translucent plastic similar to Innova Champion, but it is a bit more flexible (gummy) so that it isn't too stiff and the disc has no sharp, uncomfortable edges. This is a distance driver that could slide into the bag as a go-to distance driver for moderate fade shots for about any experienced disc golfer.

For me, the Viking Discs Valhalla is not a max distance driver for my backhand power. This disc is too stable and just hyzers out on me after about 300 feet. In a moderate headwind it might be just right, but I haven't actually tried throwing it in the wind. Where it excels is forehand distance. The Valhalla has a nice sized rim 2.2cm (the same as the Innova Destroyer) and is the perfect stability for me when I need to get a sidearm throw more than 300 feet. This disc is stable enough that it will flip up with some distance gaining turn, but is not going to flip over too much that I lose control and end up way too far left. It is a solid distance driver with a good feel and a consistent fade.
