The Odin is an overstable, high-speed distance driver. This distance driver provides sufficient stability to handle power and maintain its course. This will fly straight and exhibit a little turn right before it fades out for the finish.

    Storm Details

Viking Storm plastic is a very durable blend that will maintain the same disc flight for a long time, even after playing heavily wooded courses. This is a clear transparent plastic with a glimmering shine. This plastic grade is comparable with  Innova Champion or Latitude 64 Opto.

This is an interesting one in that the flight numbers are a bit off for me. I was super surprised on the flight when it essentially flew like an esp scorch for me. I will add that it was not max weight and I got a really flat one which could have contributed to the flight I was witnessing. I am looking at some of the newer stocked ones and I feel like a 177 storm Odin would posses more traits of a destroyer which is the direct comparison. I was also looking at the shape of a recent stocked one and the parting line looked somewhat high and the wing or nose is slightly hooked like that of a boss. This would make me feel that a maybe got a bad run or something of that nature. Anyway, I actually was not mad at the flight though, mainly because I was in need of a nice fast turnover disc. I was using mine primarily for hyzer flip turnovers with almost full power and sometimes it wouldn't come back (probably because I got a flatter one). This would be a great starting driver though despite the slightly misleading flight numbers.

I field tested this along with its sibling the Valhalla, plus a Destroyer, Wraith, Corvette, Czar, and Wave. I think the Odin's flight is less stable than the numbers suggest when compared to the other discs; enough so that I pulled a Wave out of my bag to start using that in comparisons instead of the Czar, which on paper should have been much more like the Odin. Both into the wind and with the wind, it consistently faded out later than others (except the Wave), and into a headwind, exhibited more of a tendency to turn over a bit than any of the others, even more than the Wave, in fact. It flies well, though: Into the wind I found I needed to throw on a bit of a hyzer angle to keep it from turning over too much, but doing so could net me a great s-curve flight and good forward distance. I like the Storm plastic (and similar ones from other brands) for how it feels and releases, and how durable it has mostly seemed to be (a recent single curb hit with a different disc in Storm plastic really cranked up its understability, unfortunately). So my disc didn't really fly as its numbers suggest, but knowing how it flies for me, and that it flies well when thrown as it needs to be thrown, it's a great disc. It's certainly less stable than its sibling the Valhalla, so newer players might work up to the Odin sooner, but at a speed 12 and still a 2 fade, I think that it will still prove too much for beginners.

I got this as a mystery disc. The mold feels great, minimal flashing to sand off, and the storm plastic has the pleasant amount of give. Up until this disc, my fastest driver was a Wraith, a very flippy wraith from what i understand as well. My backhands are way too slow (stick with 7 and 9 speed), but i can get my wraith on a hyzer flip forehand pretty well. This Odin has an almost identical flight to my flippy wraith. With my speed, i see the same shape and distance between the two. Not bad for me as a slow arm, but if you stronger throwers  are looking for your non-Innova destroyer, this isn't it.

This aligns well with Eric Oakley's review of this disc on infinite's YouTube. Very flippy, definitely not -1/3, probably more like -2.5/3

This disc is pretty true to it's flight numbers. When thrown at a neutral angle the Odin will give a slight turn with a good stable finish. The fade is not overpowering. The disc is very controllable. This is the best distance driver that Viking discs has produced so far.

Great disc if you have the arm. Received this disc in a mystery box I can release on hyzer and it'll flip perfect for full flight, I've thrown this disc around 430 feet back hand. Forehand it flips perfect for me to put hyzer flip to flat and fade to 350-380 feet.

I have had some discs from Viking that have been pretty disappointing in that their flights aren't even remotely close to what they should be (I have a storm ragnarok that is so OS its a joke) so I was nervous to experience the same from the Odin.

I was not disappointed at all though and all my expectations were blown away. It flies true to its numbers out of the box. It does not take an enormous arm for the turn to show and the fade is harder than a valhalla.

Get ready to buy a lot of these I think this disc is going to be a big deal.
