The Viking Axe is a midrange disc, but with a slow glidey flight like a putter. The Axe has a slight dome and a stable flight with a fading finish. This is an excellent precision disc when you need an accurate placement.

I'd say it's more stable than its numbers indicate (same with its sibling the Warrior): I can throw this as hard as my Destroyer and still not get any turn out of this like I can with the Destroyer, and it fades more quickly. I'd have thought a 4-speed would get turned over a little bit at least with decent power behind it, but even into a headwind I couldn't get any turn out of it, just a less pronounced fade. So not quite what I expected, but knowing how it flies now, a use can still be determined: there's nothing actually "wrong" with the disc. Also I love the Storm plastic: I've got nearly all of the Viking discs and find that the Storm plastic feels great, releases cleanly for me, and holds up very well with use, giving me good looking, durable discs that maintain their flight characteristics even after long use.

I personally love this disc. The numbers are slightly different than what infinite has them at. The speed, glide and turn are spot on but the over stability of this disc is much higher than posted. It has no turn what so ever. It's basically a zone or harp style disc. It can be thrown really well on a flex line backhand and will always fade out. Great for tight short hyzer shots. I actually prefer it over the zone or harp. Plus, bonus the stamps are pretty cool.

Review of Axe in Storm plastic:

I have used an Axe in Ground plastic and I like it, so I wanted to try it in a different type. Picked the Storm and the first thing I noticed was how much Dome the disc had compared to the Ground. Being someone who is still new to the sport and still trying to get technique correct, the slightest bit of the nose going up (on the storm version) stalled the disc immediately compared to the flatter Ground version.

Maybe it was a bad run in the storm plastic, but in general i do like the Axe as a putt/approach disc.

I've been using these discs mostly as putters. It became my go to and I wasn't even looking for a new putter, It's got a pretty pronounced dome that starts towards the middle of the disc that makes it very easy to grip the disc the same way every time. Gives you a really nice spot to put your thumb. Find where you are comfortable with it and with a flick of the wrist it will go where you want it to. holds up to wind really well and works well as an approach disc. Sort of flops out of the sky at the end of the flight. The flight is remarkably similar across plastics so it makes it easy to get a stack going. The Ground plastic feels great, especially for putting,  but Storm and Armour are indestructible. Storm, I think, flies the best and looks the coolest.

Threw this for the first time over the weekend. Loved it for approach shots. Parked a few on hyzer lines around trees. Only threw one full and it flies very straight, but not the furthest flying disc and that's fine. The storm plastic is also very nice in the hand. Feels very durable. Viking makes some high quality discs.
