The Reptilian Disc Golf Serpent is known as a "Point & Shoot" disc. It's a straight flyer with low glide, perfect for those park job approaches. This putter is not beaded, like the Scale. The Serpent is known for holding any line it's thrown on, whether it is a drive or a putt. It gained recognition in 2015: "2015 Disc of the Year - 9th Place."

    Fossil Details

Fossil plastic is the base plastic for Reptilian Disc Golf, similar to Gateway's plastic blends. It feels great in the hand - grippy, yet firm. This is the kind of plastic that you want in a putter!

After trying pretty much any putter you can name over the course of several years, I was finally down to cycling through three.  I liked this about one, that about another, but not one had everything I was looking for.  One day I had the bright idea to input the specs I liked about each disc into the Advanced Find and the result.., REPTILIAN SERPENT.  The slower speed and low glide are great for running longer putts without worrying about a nasty come backer, and the wind doesn’t bother it as much as most putters.   The wide rim gives the disc a “beefy” feel, although the flight is neutral and true to the numbers (maybe a hint of fade instead of 0).  I will say, the hand feel was a little awkward at first, but nothing a practice session can't overcome.  I am finally committed to a putter and my scores are showing it.  I bought out the remaining Fossils, but make sure to grab a few next time they drop!

Hesitant to write this review because I'm worried whatever stock infinite is finite and I want to buy all of these!

I first picked this up used at a local store and immediately fell in love with it's feel. This is simply the best putter for my style. I love the subtle thumb track, no bead, coming from ultimate the rim feels good and provides a nice spot to rest my index finger on when putting.
As a 2 speed I'm comfortable going for the chains from C2+ knowing this disc will do exactly what I want it to do. Also decent of the tee or inside 200ish. Low glide makes it quick to the ground and this will hold whatever line you put it on.
I've tried putting with several other thumb track or groove top discs (banger GT, berg, puddle top magnets, the new hydrogen from loft, but none of these compare to the serpent.

I am SO happy to see this disc on InfiniteDiscs.  I have been using the Serpent for over a year.  It is one of my favorite discs I have ever used.

Short Version: Its Comfortable, bead-less, slow, controlled, straight, stable, low glide and an upshot machine as well as extremely comfortable to putt with. Flight # 2/2/0/0.75

Longer Version:  This is a collaborative disc.  It has a Gateway Magic bottom and the RDG designed Top.  The Magic is a slightly understable putter, but this top is a bit taller and bulkier (so it is an overstable top).  The once undertable bottom with an OS top then combines to make one straight as an arrow Putt/Approach disc.  The Top has a small thumbtrack that is subtle and very comfortable for throws.  (Not the extreme of a Banger GT).

The disc can handle power and still fly very straight.  It does not flip much at all unless you want it to with an anhyzer angle.  It is the most truly neutral disc I've throw.  It is slower than most other putters making it great for running the basket without fear of going too far past.  The plastic itself is a durable base-line/putter plastic.  If you like gateway plastic or KC Pro, you'd like this.  The flight plate is very thin but the outter rim is dense and solid, this makes the GYRO (tm) keep this disc going straight, no over-mold needed ;) . It grabs chains well, it does not bend or deform, its been hit by rocks and gravel and still is in great condition...even I'm surprised.

I also use this disc for windy putts.  Wind doesn't necessarily mean you need an Overstable disc.  Just aim the putt in the center and go for it, the very basic wing-style seems to avoid getting lifted or dropped by wind, also the low speed and low glide basically make this the safest disc to putt with in windy situations (for me anyway).  ((I have a video of me putting in like 50 mph winds, though only like 8 feet away, haha))

Highly recommended for all players.  Great approach disc, slow, glideless and straight.  Hit small gaps and sit down under the basket or run a putt.  This disc really is that awesome.

**Same exact review for the Scale but the Scale's Flight #'s are 2/2/0/2...same with the Element Iridium.  These discs all share the Gateway putter bottoms and the RDG top, great putters, best for APPROACHES and Low glide situations.

Don't know they did it, but this thing flies perfectly straight. No turn, not enough fade to be noticeable. Normally I putt with slightly overstable (wizard, challenger) but this is becoming my go to putter.

Serpent is to Magic as Scale is to Wizard

The Serrrrrrrrpent is RDG's second release behind the Scale. While the Scale used the Wizard as a starting point, the Serpent used the Magic. This resulted in a non-beaded, fairly neutral putter with RDG's signature groove top.

Nearly all levels of player will find the Serpent to be, to quote a good friend of mine, "straight as a button." It has a good amount of glide (more than the Scale) but isnt particularly glidey for a putter. It fights the wind well enough on putts, but will turn over into a headwind on approaches and drives. The Serpent is a fantastic putting putter for all skill levels and most skill levels will find it very intuiative for approaches as well. I dont like it for driving...I prefer the Scale.
