The Reptilian Disc Golf Scale is a very reliable, overstable putter. It feels very similar to the Wizard, and has a subtle thumb track around the top. It has gained a lot of popularity since it's creation. "2015 Disc of the Year - 4th Place, Highest Placing Putter of 2015"

    Fossil Details

Fossil plastic is the base plastic for Reptilian Disc Golf, similar to Gateway's plastic blends. It feels great in the hand - grippy, yet firm. This is the kind of plastic that you want in a putter!

I love the Scale. It's a very unique, glideless utility disc and it's amazing!! Perfect for upshots that just need to stick where it hits. Off the tee, this disc can handle some torque for some long turnover shots that reliably come back. I'm able to forehand it easily for utility shots and it honestly doesn't putt too poorly for windy scenarios either. Overall, and excellent disc!

The Scale is perhaps the most predictable disc out there that isn't relentlessly overstable. Basically it's going to go straight for you for as far as your arm can carry it and then it's going to drift lazily into the target with a loopy fade. The feel may be deep for some as it's basically a Wizard with a a thumb groove in the top which kills the glide, so if you don't like a deep disc this may not be perfect for you. If you like a bead though it could be a great fit as an overstable complement to your Wizard/Judge/P2 other beaded putter.

First, the feel. As a Wizard lover, I thought the groove would throw me. However, it felt fantastic, especially FH. And my FH grip has never been super comfortable with my beloved Wizards. I love the feel of a Wizard and am used to them and this felt similar but even better. I already knew Fossil felt fantastic as I'd fondled it before.

Now, on to the flight. I was just expecting a Wizard flight, maybe less glide. However, this thing is a beefcake. Traditional Wizard HSS, but a lot more fade and less glide. I had some decent headwinds and the Scale held straight and faded out. It fought out of anhyzers very quickly. This disc wants to fade. It also had a fair bit of skip, which is surprising as the course was a soggy, swampy mess.

All in all, I was extremely impressed.

The Scale is the stable flying brother to Reptilian's Serpent. The Scale has a nice bit of stability and can really fight the wind. I was able to really put some power on this disc without having it turn. It flew straight for about 3/4 of its flight and then it would fade quick and hard. I really liked throwing this off the tee and on upshots. The lack of glide makes this disc very easy to control the distance with. Inside the circle the Scale was not for me. It was a bit too stable for my style of spin putting. I prefer something a bit more neutral and glidey.

This disc is awesome! To me it felt like a Harp, but slightly wider. I really like the Fossil plastic, it's a nice stiff, grippy blend. I've always been a fan of thumb-track discs as well, as this one has a very subtle track.

I'd say it flies true to it's ratings- nice and overstable. It worked well for short approach flicks as well. Basically I could switch this out for my Harp, and I might do so permanently. I just like the shape of the Scale a little bit more.

Definitely a consistent disc that I would recommend to anyone!

The Scale is a very unique disc. In Fossil plastic it's stiff as a board and sounds like one too when you hit a tree. For a putter, the Scale is pretty overstable. It's not going to stay straight, and it is not going to fly very far, perfect for approach shots where you want to stay consistent and not overdrive the basket. This disc is a little bit larger than I typically use for a driving putter, but after getting used to it I really enjoyed the feel and consistency of the flight.

The Reptilian Scale has a slight Thumb track tha I kind of liked for putting.  The hard plastic and thumbtrack can lead to very consistent hand position, which is something I struggle with in my putting game.

If you need help with your putt and approach game and want to try something different, consider the Scale.

Love this disc, super consistent and reliable. Enough stability to be trustworthy in the wind, but not to the point of being a utility only.

    RDGs BEST DISC!

You would do yourself a disservice if you dont get a Fossil Scale! This is, in my mind, RDGs best disc by a landslide. Ive been throwing them since day one..I was one of the first testers.

The Scale is the perfect approach putter. Not overly glidey, overstable without being crazy and very workable for backhand, forehand and yes, even overhand! It quickly became my favorite driving and approach disc for anything 250 feet and in. I currently bag a Fossil, Armor and Organic Scale...and I have about 10 more of all flavors sitting in my garage. Get a Scale. You wont regret it...that's a Big Country guarentee.

I enjoyed giving the Scale some test throws at the basket from several distances. I could pound it in rather consistently from short distances, but had to become more accustomed to the fade from longer distances. I really like the feel of the grip-- particularly the subtle thumb groove on the top of the disc. It gives me a marker for my thumb placement that helps with consistency. I look forward to throwing the Scale in more rounds. It may not be the best putter for a new player with its fade, but for experienced players it can be a go-to putter.
