I wasn't sold on this disc right away but after a little time with it I really started to appreciate this disc. If you are a slight hyzer or flat release thrower this disc will go dead straight for you with little fade. It holds any line you put it on. A very versatile Mid-Range

This is a beaded midrange with pretty good glide, lots of control, and a dependable finish.  I have it in several plastics (350G, 400, 400 Glimmer) and just picked up a 750 MX3.  These, in the various plastics, were my go-to midranges...and they'll come back in the bag soon.  I go through a love/hate with the beaded midrange so right now, they're on the shelf in favor of the Lat64 Compass.  The thing I like most about these, aside from the fact that you can get multiple flights from a single mold just by switching plastics, is they aren't TOO glidey.  These go as far as you throw them so distance control is so easy.

If you dont mind a noticeable bead this mid is very solid.  I used it more for touch than distance, but im still a noob.  Definitely have enjoyed using Prodigy discs and look forward to using more.  MX-3 is nice for all skill levels and very reliable.

Not a prodigy fan by any means but I did enjoy my time with the mx-3 before switching to a buzzz. this thing carried a hyzer really well without being to OS

Let me start out by saying I am a long time Roc and Comet thrower. Eventually, I got tired of finding DXs Rocs that I liked and cycling them. Fresh Z comets are pretty close to stable so I felt I could go without the Rocs, powering down fairways for midrange fade shots.

However, there is something about a mid that you know you can rip on without turning it over and isn't a glideless beef monster that immediately fades out. So I started looking for a premium plastic DX sweet spot Roc: True stable, reliable high speed stability with a late, penetrating fade.

I tried a lot of discs and actually had given up on searching for one. But then I picked up some MX-3s on a whim. And this is it, this is the modern day Roc. Buzzzes, Truths, etc. have taken over the discing world and rightfully so, they're fantastic. But some people want a beaded feel and I am one of those people. Roc3s never cut it for me, they showed a hint of turn and just had nowhere near the glide.

The MX-3 though is a beaded Buzzz/Roc hybrid. It's slightly faster than a Rancho but doesn't border on fairway speeds like a Truth. It has fantastic high speed stability, meaning you can rip on it as much as you want and trust it in most wind conditions. The fade is late in the flight and predictable but does not sacrifice distance. And the glide on this disc is fantastic. Most of the modern day mids feel like they rely on speed to get where they are going. While it isn't Comet levels of glide, the MX-3 has a float to it reminiscent of old school, baseline mids.

The stable midrange is a highly contested market filled with so many gems. I won't fault anyone for their choice out of the embarrassment of riches we have. BUT if anyone wanted a recommendation for a beaded, stable midrange I know what my answer is going to be: a Prodigy 400 MX-3.

This disc is interesting. I used to throw a Roc3 and wasn't all that impressed. I stopped throwing mids entirely, but saw the release and specifically heard "torque resistant" which is something I wanted.

I throw this disc exclusively RHBH and fan grip. I tried throwing it with a power grip and it just kept flipping. thrown with a fan grip like a putter though, it flies pretty straight. A little turn and a little fade. It has a place in my bag and I have one in my garage on standby.

There have been a bunch of comparisons to the Roc3 and while I agree in many cases, I dont believe the bead to be as aggressive. It as a better feel in the hand.

My go-to mid. I have moderate power and I rip this thing all over. It's great for gently turn overs that fade for ever with a gentle finish. Still working on my control this disc allows me to put it where I want it. Don't mistake it for a Buzz, but the flight is dreamy when slightly beat in.

Finally a beaded midrange from Prodigy! The MX-3 is a do all midrange that takes very well to bagging multiple in different stages of wear. The feel in the hand is moderately deep but with a flatter top and a medium sized bead, smaller than a Roc or Roc3 but not quite a microbead. The grip as a result is very comfortable for someone like me who prefers beaded midranges for backhand grip but makes it very uncomfortable for forehand. My MX-3 is actually in 400 spectrum plastic, but in my experience all that really adds is some flashy colors and swirls over normal 400 plastic and it is max weight at 180g.

The MX-3 really felt similar to the Champ Roc3's and Comets that I normally bag but different in a good way. I feel this disc is definitely deeper overall and the smaller bead ensure for clean releases. This disc goes outstandingly straight with excellent glide in the 400 plastic at my arm speed but I can imagine it being a little overstable for some players. I can work this disc on pretty much any angle out of the box and get reliable results which is key in a midrange for me since the shorter courses near me rely on midrange shots heavily. While this disc is right up my alley as a backhand dominant player I would say you do lose some utility with a disc like this since it really does not work well forehand or for escape shots... but when you put every shot in the fairway with it you generally won't need to worry about those things.

The MX-3 can handle mild to steady headwinds with some hyzer in the more durable plastics. This disc flies very nicely in tailwinds due to that big glide and mild stability.

The MX-3 is definitely a disc I would recommend to beginners, I would probably get 1 or 2 in the more grippy 350g plastic to beat up quickly then a 400 plastic one to use for stronger finishes.

Overall the MX-3 is definitely my favorite midrange in their line up at the moment and while the market is trending towards beadless discs it's nice to see a company still invested in making them. While it won't kick my Roc3's out I would highly recommend it to prodigy throwers or people looking for a slightly straighter flight than a Roc3 out of the box.

    I give this 4.5 stars

I put it up against the Method and the Method won because this mid was a little deeper feeling and had more flex in the plastic. It threw very well, just like the numbers. Good glide, good fade, a really great midrange with bead. It was controllable and reliable. Again, for me it was a little too flexible and just a little less comfortable than the Method. I would, however,  throw this over a Roc. It's just a better midrange.
