Very reliable mid-range.  For those of you who throw Prodigy M2s or Roc3s, this is like a seasoned M2 or Roc3 even after its 1st throw.  The 350g plastic is firmer than the 400 with some additional grip.

Prodigy's first beaded midrange and it did not disappoint. I bag the 350g and 750. Release the 350g on a hyzer and it flips to flat and goes dead straight with a slight finish at the end. The 750 is a lot more overstable. When I need a harder finish I will throw the 750. Definitely recommend the disc for all players who want a beaded mid.

When I tested the MX-3 I really liked the flight I got. The disc was 179g, as you would expect with a midrange. The flight was not as straight as I thought it would be, but I liked the way it flew. In a tailwind, it flew pretty much straight, with a good, but not strong fade. In a headwind it had a slight S-curve with the same fade at the end. I could easily throw this disc as a midrange, however I would choose one of the premium plastics. But, that's just personal preference. I know a lot of people who like the feel of the grippier base plastics.

I tested out the MX-3 in the softer 350G plastic because I like its grippy feel and wanted to check it out. In the end, I probably should have tried the 400 plastic which is more firm and slicker on the release, since that fits more my throwing style with mids and drivers. I found the MX-3 to be a relatively straight flyer with just a little end-fade. I got more turn out of it than I expected on more powerful throws (usually my own fault for trying too hard for distance), but saw better control when I threw it at the correct speed for a mid-range. I'd say it flies exactly as designed with a straight flight path that finishes with a slight fade. So it isn't really breaking any new ground, since there are a lot of similar discs on the market. It is simply another good choice.

I always recommend mid-range discs as good choices for beginners, particularly when they do not exaggerate the turn or fade too much. The MX-3 is a good choice for new players who want to learn consistent release and control.

The MX-3 is a great new mid from Prodigy. It's a wide diameter rim with that classic mid rim feel. It's a pretty straight shooter. I feel like it's pretty resistant to turnin over, but when I shanked it a little hard it didn't come back. On my best flat throws, it turns over just a hair and glides forward for quite a distance, before it's gentle fade kicks in. I rated this a half notch less fade, just because it didn't seem to be super dumpy- however I was using 350g plastic, perhaps the 400 is more overstable.

I'm not sure this will kick anything out of the bag- it's good at what it does, it's just a lot like a lot of other mids.
