I gave the FX-2 a shot earlier this year to try out some prodigy plastic. This disc kind of fits into the same stability as maybe slightly seasoned Discmania CG FD3. The good thing is that it's a little more user friendly in terms of stability for some smaller arms. The biggest knock I have is the sharp rim. It can be uncomfortable to use especially for bigger forehand shots, it could feel like it's actually ripping skin when leaving the hand.

Overall, it's not a bad disc. It definitely fits the quintessential overstable fairway niche that many companies are trying to manufacture. I'd for sure throw it if I played for Prodigy, but there some better options out there.

This disc was pretty unique but not quite what I was looking for as my overstable fairway. The rim is pretty deep, and pretty noticeable compared to a firebird, felon, or scepter. It felt a little awkward in the hand for a forehand grip. Backhand wasn't as noticeable, but the two textures between top and bottom can be a little strange at first and take some time to get used to it. And the flashing can be way sharp so be careful the first few times you throw them. They fly pretty overstable though. They fight wind really well and do have some forward push to them without dumping to the ground super fast.

Wanted to try prodigy so i picked up this disc . Plastic is great but in the hand is where it lacks for me at least. Feels like im gonna lose a finger when i throw it due to the sharp edge. The unique plastic texture is interesting. If you are a prodigy lover wanting a utility disc here it is. Even tho it wasn't my cup of tea don't be discouraged and give it a try.

This disc is true to it's flight numbers. When I throw my FX-2 flat, it will turn ever so slightly, before fading hard left. Once it starts fading, it doesn't really push forward anymore so it's great for sticking it close to your target. This disc is great for skip shots as well.

I like the feel of the rim and the flat top. The sharp rim was striking at first, but I have gotten used to it and love it now.

Great disc but for beginners definitely not something to look at unless you are wanting something super over stable. However if you are looking for a fairway that won't turn this a great option. I like the feel of the underpaid of the disc. Very unique compared to any other disc I've felt.

Why the 4 star rating? Flight is great. Plastic is great. The feel.....  well, this is the sharpest rim I've ever felt. It was an easy enough fix. I just worked on the inside edge with 2000 grit sandpaper for about 15 minutes and now the disc is much better.

Chris Dickerson has a solid forehand, so I see why this is his signature mold. Reminds me a lot of another guy named Sexton and his Firebird.  Bottom line is if you like super flat and overstable control drivers and want the flight of a Sexton Firebird, but can't seem to find one, which is the case 99% of the time, you can always go to the FX-2 and spend a little time customizing the rim to your liking.

I've learned to keep some extra fine sandpaper around for my discs anyway. Just make sure you use at least 1500 or 2000 grit and take your time.

    Update:
I have compared this with the other "Firebirdish" discs on technical shots and I've noticed that the sharper rim does contribute to a micro second of late release. When I take the same aim on a RH Forehand shot I need to aim further right to compensate for the release that is almost always a hair later than my other discs.

Also, one thing to point out is how well this disc cuts through the wind when released flat. It will have a huge skip at the end so you have to keep that in mind. On spike hyzers it is just opposite. The sharp edge just digs into the ground on impact unless you hit any hard surface.

This is a workhorse fairway in the same vein as a Firebird, Felon, or Fireball. The only reason I am not giving it a 5-star review is the feel of the bottom of the disc. It feels unlike any other disc; it is very slick! The slickness does seem to impair my forehand grip, but it might be one of those things where it will just require a slight adjustment in my grip, and it will be just fine.

Outside of the slick feel, its flight is beautiful, highly predictable, and dependable. I am intrigued to see how this beats in overtime.

I've been throwing about 80% prodigy lately so I was excited to try this disc, as it actually filled a slot that I don't really have. Not really sure if I just got a bad one or what, but the bottom edges on this disc are the sharpest I've ever felt on any disc by a huge margin, i can't even try to throw it RHBH due to how sharp it is, it's that bad. The weird texture is a small quibble in comparison, I don't like it for sure, I also don't really get why anyone would like it, as it kinda of feels slick to hang on to. That said, I threw this forehand a little bit and it's probably the biggest meathook I've ever thrown next to an Ape. Wish I wouldn't have bought it, most uncomfortable disc I've ever felt in the hand.

As an intermediate player still experimenting with different types of discs, this may be the most overstable plastic I've thrown yet. It will definitely stay in my bag for scenarios where I'm looking for the following: an extremely reliable left-hooking hyzer, a tricky forehand anhyzer S-curve around trees or obstacles, or a great go-to when I'm throwing directly into a headwind.

It is everything I wanted a H1V2 to be. I would say it is a longer Sexton Firebird with a deeper rim. It is the most comfortable forehand disc that I have. Easy distance when thrown by someone who has a 350+ fh with a very reliable fade. The bottom feels weird when you first get it but I don't really even notice it anymore. Backhand feels slightly different but I have grown to like the feel of it as well. Can't say enough good things about the disc.

Faster than the other F series offering and plenty of bite!

I managed to score a 400G and a 500 FX-2. Both have an agressive fade out of the hand out of the box. Both have tremendous glide if give enough anhyzer upon release. Neither disc turned over, but fought back to flat and then faded hard. I think I like this disc, and I will continue to beat it in. The 500 plastic is by far my favorite plastic to throw. (X3,H4V2)
