I bought this disc to replace my ROC3 when I lost it, and I will say, I'm not disappointed. This disc is considerably more overstable than a ROC3, but that's exactly what I want! If I have a turn I need a hard fade on, this disc is my first choice. This disc is perfect if you need some hard fade, with a comfortable grip and bead. I wouldn't really recommend it for beginners, again, due to its high fade, but it definitely would be a good disc to learn how to predict and work with fade.

I love the Buzzz. So I spend a lot of time looking for discs that are similar but different from the buzzz.

The Vector is the perfect, slightly more stable, companion to the buzzz.

Straight like an arrow. Easy to throw. With more reliability in the wind and that finishing fade when you need it.

Just as a side note: I won my division in a tournament last week and I attribute that win to the Vector(and the DGA Aftershock ) which I bought 2 months ago and have been using heavily since I purchased..

    Disc - Proton Vector, 173

Feel - This disc feels very similar to a roc3 or roc in my opinion. It has a bead and a somewhat deeper rim. The plastic feels great in my hand and hardly notice the overmold.

Flight - The flight of this disc is somewhat interesting. I was hoping that this disc would fly similarly to my beat in roc3 but instead, this disc loves to turn. I understand that it is valuable to have a mid that will turn when thrown flat at 75% power but that just is not what I was looking for in this disc. Perhaps I came in with an expectation and this disc just didn't live up to its numbers for me.

Overall - The vector is a good mid to have in the bag for beginners but I would not recommend it to more advanced players. Most mids beat in very nicely and cover a wide variety shots and this disc just did not do that for me.

Its not a roc replacement, but this was my favorite of all the over stable midranges hope they make a beadless version in the future. Very straight flight with late fade and a lot of glide. My review is based off very early runs of this disc in proton. I have opted to simplify my bag since and use the Envy as my midrange but would recommend this disc to anyone looking for a true reliable stable/os midrange.

This is a solid mid, but it doesn't fit well with my bag. I like the Matrix for straighter lines, and the new Deflector for more stable lines. It fits somewhere in between those two discs and for right now I don't have a great place for it.

This disc is fantastic for backhand and forehand approach shots. It can handle a good bit of anhyzer if needed and once it gets best in it flies straight as an arrow with minimal fade. Overall great disc!

The Vector is a large diameter fairly slow flying, tall, beaded, slightly domed mid that is great for shaping shots.Sound familiar? You would not be far off the mark to call it a Roc clone.

Proton Vector, 178 grams. A little less stable than advertised. It has a little high speed turn and needs a little hyzer to hold the line in a headwind. Contrary to the flight numbers listed here, it is much less stable than the smaller diameter, flatter Matrix. The Vector will hold an anhyzer line for 70-90% of the flight then have a good, solid fade at the end, and the Matrix will pull out of most anhyzers very quickly.

The Vector is very similar to a slightly seasoned Roc, whereas the Matrix is a Roc3 clone.  Both are very good discs, almost certainly the best two mids that MVP makes, but the Vector works much better for this short old man with slow arm speed. What I like best about this disc is it is so very predictable.

For those unfamiliar with MVPs different plastics, the Eclipse is the most stable, then Proton, and Neutron. Plasma plastic is typically less high speed stable than any of these. This disc also comes in the el cheapo Electron plastic, which beats in quickly and can be destroyed by a single tree, rock, or fence strike. It comes out of the mold flatter in electron and is the least stable out of the box plastic they make.

Played this disc from my buddies bag today in very heavy wind. My friend is a true beginner that has never played before and wanted me to show him how to throw. This disc demands more power to get true flight. Not a great disc for beginners but excellent if you have the arm strength.

The flight path is accurate but the disc wasn't as overstable as I was hoping. There is a downhill hole on my local course that favors hyper/overstable throws and this is what I wanted the disc for. It works well just not exactly what I wanted. When I first threw the disc I was surprised at how well it threw, MVP truly does make great discs. I use this disc in windy situations that would push my Buzzz around too much. Good midrange and a great midrange driver, if you're looking for an overstable midrange that isn't too much of a meat hook this could be it.

The flight path is accurate. Not the biggest fan of the hard bead plastic but love the dome portion feel. This disc will take off hyzer if given air but as long as you keep it down there does not seem to be an issue. Not very forgiving, I would not recommend for a beginner.

found this one in a pond the one day no name no number have been using it ever since. This is my go to mid range shot that i need to have turn a little more or skip at the end of its flight.

I have a vector in proton plastic and is a pretty good disc. Out of the gate it held pretty straight and a decent fade at the end. I think I must have smoked some trees and brick walls hard because now it seems to want to turn and burn if I don't give it hyzer to start. With some hyzer however it is a predictable turn and I have confidence that it will fade back.

I have a 178 Proton Vector. This disc is amazing for upshots and sidearm approaches. This disc is not crazy overstable, but stable enough to give the player complete control. What surprised me is that when thrown anhyzer, the Vector turns a little and doesn't really fade back. However, when thrown flat and hyzer, this disc always finishes left. Great disc to have!

This is a good overstable midrange. When you need your midrange shot to fly accurately with a slight hook at the end of the flight, reach for the Vector. This thing is such a smooth flyer and is comfortable in the hand.

While I am not a fan of driving this disc, it has found a space in my bag for the occasions i need a heavy flying disc to make it through tight lines for approach. The clear plastics make this line of discs a hassle to find if lost in heavy bushes.
