The MVP Shock is a thin fairway driver that is more stable than the Volt, while still offering excellent glide. The Shock will turn less, but fade more than an average throw with the Volt. For power throwers that find the Volt flippy, the stability of the Shock makes it very popular. The Shock is available in MVP’s quality Neutron plastic. This is a hard, smooth plastic that glides very well. Like all MVP discs, the Shock uses GYRO Technology to maximize control and forward glide.

Flight numbers are very accurate. Reminds me of a semi beat in fd3 and fits great in the hand.  I love this disc and it made the bag after my first field work session.  Not much if any turn and plenty of late, penetrating fade/some skip. Very useful disc for flex shots, tunnels with fade required 200+ deep and many other applications.  In the open with lots of power, expect a frozen rope then a moderate dump at the end. Fights wind well. Would recommend to anyone who can throw over 300.

I got a Shock and a Volt at the same time, very similar discs. Difference I saw was that the Shock tended to skip move on every show in the field and didn't "sweep" as much on shots, more abrupt lines.

This review is for the Neutron Shock from MVP... it would only let me select Plasma. So the Neutron Shock is an outstanding fairway driver from the MVP lineup. It was never a mold that made it into my bag to stay for an extended amount of time, however this doesn't mean it isn't a great disc. The Shock for me, flies much straighter than the flight numbers describe it to fly. As a matter of fact, a well seasoned Shock for me, flies pretty much dead straight with minimal turn or fade! Just kind of a point and shoot type of fairway with plenty of glide. To me, it flies very similar to the Axiom Crave (which I am simply more comfortable with). If you are looking for a straight fairway with a bit of fade when brand new but will beat in to a straight flyer... you won't be disappointed in the Shock!

From the first day I had this disc to now it has been one of my most reliable discs. It always seems to release easily, rarely slipping out early or causing grip-lock. I think that this is one of the best fairway drivers out of any manufacturer.

The Shock flies further than typical 8 and has a 1.9 cm rim, more typical of a 'Speed 9' disc. I don't typically find MVP flight ratings the most accurate. For an stable disc the Shock holds up very well even as it slows, giving it a 6 glide. I think this disc has some similarities to the Anax from Discraft, it is one of the best discs to throw if you dont have a big arm but need good distance without fear of it turning over.

The Shock holds a flat line for a loong time. This makes i particularly good in wooded courses where you need to hit particular straight lines without much variance. If you want an S-curve, you'll need to crank it or throw with a bit of an anny.

Highly recommended to any player, inexperienced to pro.

This is a great beautifully flying disc. I recently picked up two Plasma Shock, from the MVP circuit events. They feel great in the hand and goes really far! I picked them up hoping they would be a more stable complement to my MVP volts, somewhere right around that thunderbird stability, but they were not. They essentially have the same flight as my Plasma Volts with a bit more of an aggressive fade at the end. I have heard from other players that the stability of the Shock varies greatly with the production run, so if you are interested in trying one out make sure you know what run it is so that you know what to expect. I am not disappointed in the disc I just wished it would give me another arrow in my quiver compared to my Volts but it just didn't.

This is one of my two go-to drivers, the other one being a DGA Sail. The Shock, for me, is a slightly stable point-and-shoot disc. It fits great in my hand; not too thin or fast-feeling, but not overly beefy. The Plasma plastic has nice grip and feels solid, but is also a bit flexible. It looks great, too.

Thrown flat, it will go dead straight with a bit of reliable fade at the end. It holds hyzers perfectly. It will flex back on most anhyzer lines (I've only had it turn completely away from me once, when I threw it on a near-roller angle, and even then it started to fade back at the last second). Overall, the Shock is very easy to control and can handle a variety of shots. I'm excited for it to beat in so it can flip up to flat on a hyzer release.

The Plasma Shock is a perfect fairway driver for consistent hyzers when there is enough fairway to work with or for headwind drives you need to be able to trust. It has a big but manageable fade and it will stand up somewhat easily but never ever turn. It complements a straight Teebird/Rival/Explorer perfectly. It feels great in the hand as opposed to, say, a River Pro, and as such is nice for clean forehand shots as well with the overstability to be forgiving when going for distance.
