A very understable driver that carries forever and has very little late fade. If you can put it on the hyzer line it needs to not tip over, it's a winner. I really appreciate the Apex plastic, as someone who was raised on Innova Star plastic it has a good grippy feel, in fact I prefer Apex a little because it's grippy but not sticky. I've maxed (RHFH) around 360' but rarely throw higher than 8' off the ground. With the nose down a little and a higher trajectory release I'm sure it would go consiiderably further.

Reading some of the reviews here, I had to put my own $.02 in.  My experience with the disc is great as a very understable controllable distance driver. I have a noodle arm and I first was using it as a hyzerflip distance driver, it worked great out of the box.  My one complaint was that it beat in very quickly and became very understable and more of a turnover/roller disc.  It works great for that application, but it wasn't what I originally bought it for.  I like the feel of the Apex plastic, nice and grippy, and the disc is very comfortable in the hand.  It earned a regular spot in my bag for turnover, uphill, and tailwind shots.

The freetail is one of my favorite discs, so easy to turnover or to hyzer flip. I wouldnt say it is too beginer friendly

I totally dig this disc! This thing TURNS. It has awesome glide and it soars! It's a great hyzer-flip disc too! It's a finesse disc, for sure, but it's easy to make this thing do almost anything you want. Newer players will get a TON of distance with it. It's also easy to turn over for a looong sweeping arc with a nice little push at the end of flight. It's beautiful.

I bought this disc as my second disc by Mint. I had previously purchased the Jackalope and was so impressed with the apex plastic and performance of that disc I was more than excited to get my hands on a freetail.  Have never been more disappointed than I was with the Freetail.  The disc just goes straight and fades out at the end.  Little to no turn whatsoever.  This is suppose to be -4 1 and it's not even close.  After 5 or 6 throws with it it was out of the bag.  I have plenty of disc that handle it's current flight path and do a much better job at it.  Based on the reviews here I see plenty of others have had the same experience as me.  Looks like we should have chosen the eternal plastic instead. I don't want to have to go spend another $20 to get the flight path I wanted from this disc.  I feel burned and misled.  How can the flight path change that drastically between plastics.  When you pay for a -4 1 that's what you should get.  I could have lived with a -3 1 that I could beat in to the listed path both there is no way this disc is going to go from  -1 2 to the listed -4 1.  Stay away from this one.

The freetail is a tale of two plastics for me. In the eternal plastic this disc is absolutely great, has the turn and the distance as advertised. Not the mention the plastic feels great. I also ordered one in the apex plastic and it felt like a completely new disc. No matter how much I beat it in I could never replicate the amount of turn that the eternal plastic got. If you're looking for a driver for long turnover shots I recommend the freetail but only in the eternal plastic.

Terrific understable disc with tons of glide and fantastic grip. Absolutely love the Apex plastic, it's going to be just what I need during the cold months. As a backhand, just make sure you respect the hyzer angle you need to put on it and the fact it won't fade a ton and you have a friendly disc that will carry almost as far as a Heat. I've only thrown a couple of forehands with this, but it's quite predictable and carries a lot.
