The Draco is a great Firebird alternative. It's a flat top tad straighter Firebird and great for forehands.

I have 2 runs of Calvin Dracos one run is a little flippier but still stable. The other is board flat and the most stable overstable 9 speed if thrown. It flies straight and then dumps into its fade and if you throw it right takes a hard skip. It is also great for force-over shots.

I would recommend it for anyone looking to fill that super overstable 9 speed slot.

The Draco has kicked my firebird out of my bag. Draco's are consistently flat topped and the plastic feels great. I throw this on back hands and forehands. One of my favorite discs to throw!

Every intermediate or above player needs an overstable 9 speed utility type disc in their bag, and nearly every manufacturer makes one. I tried the Draco alongside three other such molds I happen to have handy - a star Firebird, Metalflake Glow C Blend Scepter, and a Lucid Felon. Comapred to the others, the Draco has a slight shoulder to it, but then a very flat top. The rims seems just a hair shallower as well. Overall felt good in the hand, as did the others frankly, but what sold me on the Draco was the flight. Yes, it's a beefcake and it can be that utility disc, but it is more than that too. It flew further for me than all of those other discs. From my very first throw I was getting great tosses. It still fades hard but it seems to glide a little more and push a little more forward rather than just dumping and spiking. Of course, it can do that too, but if you need a little more distance with a hard fade, it's also got you. To be honest, I almost wanted the Scepter to make my bag since it looks so pretty but the Draco forced my hand. It Immediately went into my bag.

To be fair, if you already have an overstable 9 speed you love it probably won't displace it. But if you don't have a disc like that yet, or if you feel yours is slightly too dumpy and not enough distance, give the Draco a look. For me, it's been an absolute workhorse. My go to forehand disc, but also great backhand. I took down a C tier recently and honestly couldn't have done it without the Draco, nearly all my birdies were set up because of it. 5 star disc.

A board flat Firebird, what more could you want?

This thing is BEEFY so beware. The Draco is perfect for all winds, flex shots, and skip shots. Also, the quantum plastic feels amazing.

If you are having a hard time finding that beefy firebird, look no further. The Draco is consistently board flat and an absolute hog of a disc. Great for anhyzer release flex shots, or hammering forehands on chop lines.

It's a Firebird but one that is consistently board flat. Flies consistently and feels great for backhand as well as forehand.

The Quantum Color Luna Draco (170g) is a staple in my bag.  It has a flat top which feels and flies just like those 11x Firebirds that everyone is searching for.  It excels for both backhand and sidearm throws, as well as flick rollers and thumbers.  The Draco is easily my favorite utility disc and also doubles as a great wind fighting driver.  I like this disc so much that I immediately ordered another for a backup.  This is just a great disc!

Disc: Draco - Quantum Run 1.1 - Blue

Feel: Slightly gummy and pearly, the Quantum plastic for this first run feels like a more flexible Luster Champion from Innova. The Draco mold most likely shares similarities with the Innova Firebird, Discmania FD3, and Infinite Discs Scepter only a slightly different plastic blend is used and is intentionally flat topped. Generally, the softer champion-like plastics tend to get chewed up a bit more and will break in a bit quicker. All this adds up to a blunt rimmed, 9 speed fairway/control driver which can be comfortably gripped forehand and backhand and should age into a really useful driver.

Flight: After throwing the Draco for a while, it has handled all the power I have thrown at it and windy conditions don't seem to have much affect. Not so overstable that it is strictly a utility disc but the Draco will fight to the ground fairly quickly. Some ground action in addition to the fade can be expected when landing on an edge. Fights out of anhyzer releases pretty quickly (though that may be poor form & weaker throws on my part).

Impressions & Comparisons: So far the Draco has been released in Quantum and Quantum Lunar. Quantum seems most similar to the special edition Glow FD3 I have thrown in the past for similar stability shots, only a flat top and softer plastic. The flat Luster Firebird is much stiffer and more overstable than the Draco. The Color Glow Metal Flake C-Blend Scepters are a bit less stable but share the same flat top and are more gummy feeling plastic.

Fitting into Millennium's lineup, the addition of the Draco falls between the EXP-X and Orion LF. Both of those have more glide and distance potential so the Draco fills the role of most overstable low glide fairway driver with a comfortable forehand grip. Most players can find a role for the Draco and hopefully future runs will be similar and available in lighter weights.

I bought a few of these recently and have thrown them a lot. If you are a fan of the 11x Firebird you are going to instantly recognize this Draco.  In my opinion they are the same mold. When I put these Dracos up against my 11x Firebirds they look identical.  With that being said...they fly the same too.

The Draco in the quantum plastic feels like a gummy champion plastic.  The feel is great and so is the grip.  For me, I like this disc because it flies a little straighter than my more overstable 12x firebirds. This allows me to get an extra 50-60 ft with a more gentle but yet reliable fade at the end. This is a great compliment for my more overstable firebirds.  I specifically love this disc for 350-380 ft right-to-left backhand shots.

With the flight being so much like the 11x, I am already sold. The big question mark I have going forward is how much will the flight change as it beats in. My 11x Firebirds in the old Champion plastic maintain their flight characteristics for a very long time. I will try and edit this review after I have had time to beat my Dracos in more.

The Draco is a really solid overstable utility driver that can be used for all skill levels to a certain degree, but I wouldn't hand a brand new player a disc like this.

Feel: In the hand, it feels and looks almost exactly like a Nate Sexton firebird, or a flat top FD3. Comparing them side by side I honestly don't know the difference.

Plastic: Quantum plastic is kind of a cross between normal champion plastic, and luster. Its not super stiff but not that flexy, pretty decent grip but not gummy.

Flight: Similar to the feel, it also flies a lot like a Sexton firebird or FD3. Pretty straight on a hard shot, and then a reliable and predictable hyzer finish. If I had to compare it to a Sexton firebird, I would say that its similar to the 2017 or 2019 ones. This disc also flies very similar to a Latitude 64 Pioneer.

I liked throwing backhand, forehand, forehand rollers, and thumbers with this disc. However, I do prefer my drivers to be around 170g and these seem to only be available in max weight. Especially for thumbers I like a lighter disc.

Overall, I did enjoy using this disc. It is a solid addition to the Millenium lineup. I would recommend it for trying a FD3 but want a flat top or a Sexton Firebird flight without spending more cash (but Nate is awesome and you should support him.) I do hope that they run more weights than just max weights in the future.
