Mockingbird alpha glow 172g:  only for noobs.

I was surprised that it had so much turn right out of the box.  Thrown flat on a 225ft hole, it just turns very much right with a mild fade back.  Same flight as a lightweight Diamond (156g)

It's very sensitive to nose angle. Thrown flat it tends to gain in altitude more than other discs, not good if you need to stay under some tall trees. And yet thrown slightly nose down, it stays down going towards the ground.

They say 7speed, but it was originally designed as an 8speed evidenced by it's 1.8cm rim width. Manufacturers often downgrade the speed number in order to boost the glide number (and sales), but I don't think that's the case here.  More likely they realized it just flips over at the originally intended speed.  It's really an 8 speed with way too much turn.  Maybe they should have given it the real numbers and targeted it into the same category as the Diamond, and redone the mold for this slot, coming out with another disc model (some.Might argue that's the Guadalupe, but from all the reviews I've seen, it's just as much understable).  Set the wrong expectations and this is what happens.

Glide is good.  On par for this category.

The glow is very good.  I have a few discs to compare it to: Echo, Crave, Explorer, Mana, Pathfinder, Reko-x, Diamondback; brightness is very close to MVP and Lat64, better than TSA and Kastaplast (which are average-good imo), and much better than Mint.

If you're introducing a friend or family member to disc-golf, this might be one to consider, because it should make getting straight shots on moderate armspeed easy, and get them easier distance. Also great for learning nose angle given it's so finicky.

Definitely not recommended for someone who's been playing for a few years, or intermediates for that matter.  Unless you have a need for a fairway that turns right (rhbh).

My max distance is over 300ft, 400+ downhill, so moderate, but I wouldn't trust this one over 200ft.
