The Bowie is Lone Star's first distance driver. This is a fast overstable disc, designed to handle power. It will fly very straight with a little turn and a nice fade at the end. This is a great disc for power throwers, windy shots, forehand throws, and strategic doglegs.

The Bowie is a very wide-rimmed driver that bombs. Personally, I find the Bayonet a little more comfortable in the hand (not to mention a little more workable), but the Bowie is a nice complement, with plenty of glide, but lots of stability.

This one a bit more OS than the numbers. Not much turn with a forehand release unless you put quite a bit of anhyzer on it. Reliable and heavy fade.

    Disc - 172 Bravo Bowie

Feel - The Bowie has an interesting hand feel. It has a small ridge on the bottomside of the rim and has a decently wide rim but not huge. The bowie does feel very good for a forehand and not bad at all for a backhand but different than many other drivers.

Flight - The bowie has a nice overstable flight. In the lone star lineup, it slots in between the warbird and bayonet. It has a tiny bit of flip at good power. I would not say that the bowie has a lot of glide but it is also not un-glidey per se. If you are looking for an overstable distance driver that will hold up to some wind, the bowie could be a solid option to try out.

Overstable wide rimmed driver. Every Brand needs one and this fills that slot perfectly. It is an excellent complement to the Curl. If you're looking at 350 feet avg to 400 feet of power on a great drive like me this is a perfect disc for over stable shots skips, going around or flex forehands. This is the discs you need if your a power thrower if you're like me you need 1 or 2 but you're money for distance is in the curl.

Others have said it, I'll echo.....this is a money forehand flex/utility disc. I get decent distance compared to similar molds from other manufacturers. The Bravo plastic is my new favorite, Ultrium and K1 take a close second.

This is a very over stable disc without being a useless meathook. Flex shots both fore hand and back will be a joy to watch. Very wind resistant, it will fight a headwind and fade into all but the craziest gusts.

Definitely recommend if you FH distance drivers

    Excellent Forehand Disc!!!

I don't have a big arm and I only get my drives out to about 320-350' max. Keep that in mind. I thought I made a mistake after I made my first few backhand throws with the Bowie. Then I popped it on a flick just for fun. Money!  Tried a few different gaps around trees on a flick. Boom! Tried a big flex forehand to a tucked basket. Parked!  The disc doesn't get me distance and that is fine. I've got other molds for that. I love how this thing can simply hit my lines on a forehand. I get a great release on nearly every shot and it has no problem with the torque of a forehand. I love seeing a crazy forehand hyzer line and knowing I now have a disc that will hit that line 90% of the time.

I'm sure Nate or Jerm would love it as well. :D

Throwing Bravo plastic at 4,400 ft in Utah. To me, 5 stars = incredible disc 4 stars = good & dependable disc. I don't give out too many 5 star ratings.

I find the that the Bowie is a pretty nifty disc. I really enjoy Lone Star's plastic, it has a great feel to it, and it is durable! The rim on this disc is pretty thick, right on par with other 13 speed discs. Its got a shallow rim typical for this type of disc, resulting in a fairly comfortable grip for backhand or forehand.

I find that this is quite true to the numbers they have assigned the disc. It is quite overstable. For my moderate arm, it is difficult to throw this thing far. I get a very straight flight path, no turn, and then a solid fade at the end. I got some cool flex lines with this, its oeverstability is quite reliable, it wants to get back to the hyzer angle.

Overall, another solid disc from Lone Star Discs. I'd recommend this to someone who normally throws 13 speeds and wants a overstable 13 speed. This thing is prety great.

First of all, this is my first experience with Lone Star Discs, and if I were to rate on feel and quality alone it would be 5 stars. This disc in Bravo plastic feels amazing in the hand. It's like ESP and G-star had a baby. My first time out with it I threw it about 20 times, hit a few trees and a tower, but did not notice any scuffs or damage.

Now to the flight characteristics...this is a BEEFY boy.

For reference, I can get neutral to flippy 8-10 speeds (Mantis, Sidewinder, Roadrunner, Valk, Beast, etc.) to 400+, and max out around 425ish currently. I could not get this thing past 340. My longest throw was a 45 degree anhyzer backhand roller angle into a 15 mph headwind, that did a full flex and skipped left about 30ft once it touched grass. When thrown flat or slight hyzer into a tornado this thing is going left.

Overall I really like the disc, and will be keeping it in the bag to see what kind of crazy utility shots I can use it for, but unless you have 550-600ft power this is not going to be your workhorse distance driver.
