The Hydrogen is a straight-flying putter. Because of the straight flight path, this is a very versatile putt & approach disc. The Hydrogen can go straight, hold many hyzer lines, and can even hold many anhyzer lines, making this a great approach disc or a great putter.

I gotta start by saying I prefer throwing and putting w/Axiom's Fission Envy because they fit my hand perfectly. I also love throwing the Axiom Proxy for less stable shots. However, I picked up one of these Løft Hydrogen discs in the Beta Solid plastic and it is amazingly straight and easy to throw. I've been playing disc golf now for about 16 months, so I'm not a beginner anymore, but I don't throw that ridiculously far either, usually maxed out around 310-330 with a Crave or Leopard. I don't have a lot of experience w/throwing 1 speed discs, really only throwing my Glitch a few dozen times and never really carrying over 200 ft. This Hydrogen though went 225 and absolutely dead straight. It doesn't fade or turn at all when I put my power into it. I imagine a beginner with a slower arm speed would have the same results as far as the disc going straight, only landing shorter than my throw perhaps. If you throw it nose up it will probably fade a little on you, but I never had that reaction. I've only played one round w/this disc, but I was extremely impressed and plan to keep testing it out.

I bought the hydrogen because I was expeirementing with putters and had seen some mentions of it online. At first, I wasn't sure what to make of it. The rim is very deep and I don't find it as comfortable in the hand as other shallower putters. Initially, I just practiced with it in the back yard.

More recently, I have started bagging it. Because it is a speed 1, I find it very useful for putting and throwing in tailwinds. With the low speed rating it doesn't just drop out of the sky like a higher speed disc will in that situation. It does fly straight/ true to the numbers and isn't overly glidey which I like in a putter. I've hit some long/ tough approach shots and putts with it and while I don't throw it for every putting situation, it's nice to have as an option. I don't mind the deep rim with my fan grip putting style but it is a little awkward to throw with a power grip. The beta-solid doesn't seem like a base plastic to me; it's not the clasic soft, easily dinged and damaged putting plastic...it's glossy and reminds me of more premium plastics. Anyway, it has fine grip for my style and has been durable. I don't have any marks in mine after using it for several months.

I struggled to find a putter to work for me for a while. I tried the Luna, but it was too overstable for my putting style. I enjoyed the Colt, but wanted something a little more straight shooting and neutral. I backed Loft on kickstarter and got a Founder's Run of the the Hydrogen putter and I don't think I can go back to anything else. This disc is straight and true. I've found that even when I miss a putt, it sits; it very rarely rolls off and away. Feels great in the hand will help you putt like a pro ;)

My putting game has been struggling, so I decided to mix it up recently and find something different.

The Hydrogen is a deep rounded disc with a mostly flat flight plate and an ultra thin rim making it look similar to a smaller diameter Ultimate frisbee. Beta plastic is really stiff, but it still has a pretty good degree of grip to it.

The Hydrogen is very different and the first round I used it for I immediately started hitting long putts. In fact, I hit all of them during that first round and had one of my best course scores ever.

I very much disagree with the glide ratings assigned to this disc by the manufacturer as I think it has very good glide. Just a little wrist spin and this thing smooths right in the basket.

This disc was a game changer for my putting confidence, but it might be even better as an approach disc. The Loft Hydrogen really is a 0/0. It has a perfectly straight flight and is so easy to point and shoot your approach shots.

Super solid disc. I only wish the cost was a bit lower so I could justify getting multiple.

Flies exactly how it's advertised, straight as an arrow. However, it's not good in the wind and rolls very easy and the durability is trash. I used it for a few rounds then immediately bought a berg. I use it as a disc to play catch with on the beach and tbh it's better at that than dg. It's so hard it goes right through chains and it rolls on the ground like crazy

Not a very comfortable disc in the hand. Very deep but has a big rounded bottom that I could never get to sit well in my hand. While they are straight, there are a lot better options of discs. I'd have to pass on these ones.

Throwing Beta-Solid plastic at 4,400 ft in Utah. To me, 5 stars = incredible disc 4 stars = good & dependable disc. I don't give out too many 5 star ratings.

STRAIGHT - I don't recall any other disc that flies so straight than this one. . . maybe the Pure initially. A friend and I were throwing this around, and regardless of the amount of power he put behind this, it still flew straight (with just a slight hyzerflip). He can throw pretty hard.

The feel of this thing reminds me slightly of an ultimate disc, or a Rattler. For putting it is too deep for me, but it is pretty typical to most other putters. The Beta plastic feels much better than most other base plastics out there. While the Alpha plastic reminds me of Kastaplast's - just not as tacky.

As I have said, this disc wants to go straight. Throwing it on an anhyzer angle it can come out of it. I tried throwing a hyzer bomb with it, and it ended up going straight into the air, and fading ever so gently. Most other hyzer lines it will hold though. Overall, while throwing this disc, I am impressed with how straight this thing will go.

While putting with it, it goes straight as well. I don't recall it ever really fading at the end of the flight. It just goes and sits down at the end of the flight. Even outside of the circle it goes straight.

This is a pretty awesome disc, I find that it is quite useful as an approach disc and a good putter. If you're looking for a straight disc that can handle power, give this a shot.

I got both a Beta and Alpha Solid through Lofts Kickstarter Campaign. The Beta quickly became my go to putter. I use the Alpha for short approach shots. Both are dead straight and go exactly where you throw or putt with it. The Beta is stiffer, but more grippy and beats in quickly, but stays true in flight with any putt inside or outside of the circle . The Alpha is more flexible and has less grip, and still looks brand new after a couple months of beating it in, with approach shots. For stand still approach shots these can not be beat, so true to the angle you release them, with such a smooth floaty finish, that comes in so slow that the disc stops right away. For putting these never are far away from the basket when the putt is missed.

Only thing that doesn't work well for me is trying to drive off the tee pad with any kind of run up or just over powering it in general, it will cause it to loose its path and have some wobbly turn.

I am excited that these are finally being released to the public and I can now get some back up putters(B-Solid), I don't see needing an A-Solid for a while, since the plastic is so durable. can't wait to see what mold they will come up with next!
