I did field work with the Phenom, comparing it with similar discs I have, and it was right in the thick of things with the others in terms of distance & flight shape; so the numbers seem to be valid. It gives a pretty straight flight with more or less turn/fade depending on the throw's power and whether going with or into any wind. However, I never had it get too overstable with the wind nor too understable into the wind, so nice to have the consistency of a narrower range of flight patterns when thrown the same way. I have had one in Pinnacle plastic for a while now, with which I have been very pleased, so I picked up one in Icon plastic and it seems to be even a tad better than the other, somehow. They both feel good and release cleanly for me; hopefully both will manifest the same great durability of other discs I have in similar grades of plastic. The disc has only a simple company logo stamp (nothing very fancy), but it looks pretty cool nonetheless --like whipped vanilla ice cream with blueberry swirls; which makes it pretty easy to spot on fairways or amidst brush.

Got the Phenom as a mystery disc when I ordered an exodus, and ended up bagging this over the Exodus. I think everyone that likes throwing a buzzz has their own version of a longer buzzz in their bag, and that's what the phenom is for me. Easy to throw flat and straight, will hyzer flip with some effort or will hold a turnover without burning out (at least for intermediate arms).  I absolutely love the Icon plastic. Maybe my favorite premium plastic that I've tried.

Flippy. It's my most understable fairway driver, but it's still useable. For scramble rollers and long turnover shots, it's a great disc.

If you are looking for a step up from your understable mid range the Phenom is the disc you want. Great for beginners to learn throw flat and great for experienced players that need a disc that will flip from hyzer to flat and glide right when thrown with power. I also imagine this to be a good back hand roller disc.

This is a very good disc for the fairway slot. I bagged it for a while till taking it out as I didn't use it as much as my patriot. This to me flew more like a longer patriot, wasn't much longer than my patriot was either but the patriot to me has more glide. For an 8 speed it didn't come out of the hand fast or really want to seem like it was flying full speed either. It was more of a slower disc it felt which with how they billed this as a mid range in a fairway clothing type deal. It was very predictable and the icon plastic just feels amazing. It's a good disc but there wasn't much it could do that I couldn't already do with my patriot. I would compare this to a slightly more stable patriot that is just a tick faster.

The Icon Phenom is a great disc.  Thrown full power I get a slight turn then a fade back.  On hyzer flips, it flips up very nicely and just goes.  Distance is really good.  I really like the feel and look of Icon plastic, and the disc itself feels good in my hand.  Paired with an Icon Patriot, my speed 7-8 slots are nicely covered.

This is a staple in my bag but I only use it for one shot. It works great when I need a long turn over. I am RHBH and have pretty good snap. I can hit 375' consistently and have parked a 475' pin twice (out of about 100 tries but still, I was pumped.) The reason the Phenom works well for me as a long turnover disc is because I can snap it HARD and flat and it will go straight for about 1/3 of its flight and then slowly turn right without burning. I can get it to land nicely after it goes 315-330 feet.

This is a very straight disc.  I found it to be a bit more understable than the numbers show.  I wouldn't use it in the wind, but in a calm situation it will shine.

Icon 168g. I'm still getting used to this disc as it is new. I've had some great throws with it and I've had some throws where it turned and burned fairly easy. Overall, if you have good control over your speed, this disc has great control and does not need a lot of power to throw straight and far. I'm hoping it will replace my frost river and so far it seems to be what I was looking for. It is definitely flippy at higher speeds, but if you get the angle right it has an amazing hyzer-flip line or just a nice turnover. Overall, it is touchy, but not overly so and is definitely controllable. I'm hopeful that it will keep it's spot in my bag, but only time will tell.

Did not keep it's spot in my bag. As it broke in, it became very similar to my fury and I kept the fury in the bag. However, this is still a great disc. One of the buddies I play with uses this disc consistently and it might just be his longest disc.

This disc is great if you can reliably control your torque/power, if you cannot and like to blast a disc, this one will turn and goodbye, it may fade back a smiggin but only to make it more difficult to find in that massive blackberry bush you were trying to aviod. if you can ease up and just let the disc work, you will be left with a beautiful s curving/hyzer flipping control driver

If you're familiar with Innova's Gazelle, I liken the Phenom to a faster Gazelle. It's actually pretty neutral, even when thrown flat. It's got a gentle turn, and a decent, but gentle fade. Hyzer flips will give you a straight to fade shot. I found it pretty difficult to hold a pure anhyzer angle, unless it was thrown pretty hard and low. Flex shots are pretty easy to do with the Phenom.

I'm not really sure what gap Legacy was trying to fill in their line-up with the Phenom, but it's a good disc nonetheless.

This is a great fairway driver. It is packed with tons of glide. If you put it on a higher power hyzerflip line It will rival the distance of much faster drivers but in order to do this it will need some room to work. If thrown with less power it is dead straight and can even hold slow sweeping hyzers. It can certainly do a variety of lines depending on power but I like to crush my 173g Icon For hyzerflip to turn over shots on holes I know it will finish right or fairly straight. I would not recommend it into a headwind. Other people have likened it to a longer patriot. I'd have to agree but with more glide which to me is amazing considering the lack of dome.

I enjoyed testing out the new Phenom. The disc had a good glide and a predictable fade that wasn't too strong. On speed it was right in between the TeeBird and the Thunderbird, but it was maybe just slightly more understable than those two discs. If I gave it some good power on a hyzer release it would pop up straight and then come back with a very reliable fade. I think this is a disc that a lot of disc golfers could easily find a place for it in their bag.

This is an interesting disc.  Mine only flipped up when thrown with high power, or on an anhyzer line.  I could still hyzer bomb it without too much worry of it flipping up.  I couldn't quite get the distance out of this that I can with the Rival or other fairway drivers. It flies pretty straight though, and the 2 fade does show.

I'd say it's a great disc for those shorter fairway shots where you need some control, but I may just use a mid-range for those shots instead.  I think it'll be a pretty good disc for beginners trying to step up their game!

I was surprised when I saw the initial flight ratings of the Phenom, because it's flight ratings are so similar to the Patriot/Rival and Mongoose. After throwing this disc, I'd say it simply a slightly longer Patriot. Right out of the box, I actually thought the 174g Blue Phenom I tested was more understable than the flight ratings indicate. For me this disc flpped up fairly easily, even when I was going for a big hyzer throw. Unless thrown high it holds its anhyzer line all the way to the ground.  The Phenom is substantially too understable for me to throw forehand with any kind of accuracy.

Overall, the Phenom is a good neutral flying fairway driver. It goes straight with moderate power and glides well.
