The Striker is another great distance driver for intermediate players. The flight pattern of this disc is similar to the popular Saint, but with less glide. The major physical difference between them is that the Striker is not as tall (1.6cm compared with 1.9cm height).

If you have seen the Rick and Morty episode where Morty discovers what true level is, that is what it is like. You throw this disc, watch the flight, wipe the drool from your mouth, then you go to throw another...but you see the other options in your bag...EVERYTHING IS CROOKED...I WANT TO GO BACK!!!

This is the best disc I have ever thrown.

I threw a 173g Opto Striker with the old "Jesper Ludmark" stamps.

What the heck L64, make more! This disc, if you are familiar with a Teebird, is THE better Teebird. I used to love Teebirds...This pushes SO MUCH further. Out of the box, it's SO  much straighter, and WAY easier to forehand! (With POWER and I don't really have a good forehand)

Seriously, this is an amazing disc, only problem, the only one I could find was CLEAR/SEE-THROUGH PURPLE. The disc "evaporates" every time I throw it, and if I lost it, I could never get a replacement because they are never in stock.

When you see this disc, buy it on sight. No questions, just shovel your money at them. The only reason this is not in my bag is because it would be like hosting a cigar convention in the Sistine Chapel, eventually it would be gone. I will continue to throw my Teebirds, because if/when I lose them, there will always be more.

You were the passionate love I had never known Striker, I had to settle for something safe. We will always have the memories. I love you.

    LATITUDE 64's MOST UNDERRATED DISC?

What in the riff raff did I just experience my first round with a 175g Opto Striker?! As others have mentioned, if the Explorer just isn't doing for you, or if the Saint is too squirrely, try and find yourself a Striker!

I was inspired by Dave Feldberg's most recent "In the Bag" with Infinite, and it was super informative, given his bag so mixed now. He really only throws stuff that he trusts, and his discs are likely very good choices, given how long he's been a pro, and how many brands he's been sponsored by.

Anyway, I was surprised to see that he STILL has Strikers in his bag. Feel like he never mentioned them much in the past, other than he throws them. So I got a max weight Opto Striker. Feldy said something like "it's the only disc that goes further than a Teebird, not as far as a Destroyer, STRAIGHT."

This disc does just that, it goes STRAIGHT (and far). I threw it on just about every line today. I love it for long but gently-turning anhyzer shots that just hold right until the end, when they'll flex out and land softly. On a strong, flat pull (say like 330ish), it'll turn, then stable up about 2/3rds towards the end of flight, and gently land dead center. On powered up hyzers (like 365ish) they'll flip to flat and just hold... and hold... and hold straight, or slowly drift right if given a little more power. I never threw it on a pure hyzer line, because this disc isn't for that shot. Either way, it is absolutely worth learning how Strikers fly/respond, because they have the potential to lace some huge wooded shots. Now that I've learned it after a few rounds, I've executed some of the most technical anhyzers I've ever thrown.

So what separates Strikers from a Teebird or Explorer? Speed and feel. For one, I think it flies more like a 9 speed. Secondly, Strikers (mine at least) are waaay flatter than an Explorer. It has a confidence boosting feel that I love. I don't trust my anhyzers so much when a disc is too domey, and Strikers seem to solve that with their flat hand-feel.

Overall, the Striker is ideal for flip-to-flat shots that hold straight (or slightly drift right for RHBH), or for powered up flip-to-anhyzers that pretty much do exactly what you want them to. It is a great disc for long wooded shots, or shots that need to hold right (for RHBH.) I wouldn't throw it in any wind besides a tail-wind, because they're not an overstable disc. They're just perfectly stable, flat, and responsive. Because they turn a bit, my final numbers would be [9, 5, -1, 2]

I'll be buying more Strikers where I find them. Again, a touch more stable than a Saint, further than an Explorer, and way flatter than both of those. Just a confidence inspiring disc for the lines I want to throw it on, and isn't that what were all looking for in a disc?

The Opto Striker is my least stable fairway driver for turnover shots forehand or backhand.  Earlier in my disc golf progress, it was one of my most stable discs.  So from that perspective I would say it is beginner friendly.

I now bag a Longbowman and Ahti for my Stable fairway discs so the stirker is quite a but less stable than both of those.

-So at first i didn't like the striker and felt i was a so-so driver. I avoided using it telling myself that it was going to be just like any other control driver. Well i was completely wrong the first time i threw the striker was in a densely wooded area with 15 trees guarding the basket. First off the striker fits in your hand like it was meant to be not to big not to small. Anyway i threw it with complete confidence(thanks to the perfect grip it gave me) ,and it landed under the basket. Basically this disc feels so controllable that it can be manipulated with ease. Ive field tested it in windy conditions and it flies better than almost all my discs. The striker doesnt fluctuate in flight pattern as much as any other disc. The strikers flies so straight and finishes a touch to the left if your rhbh. This disc should be a staple in any serious disc golfers bag for control and accuracy.

I have this disc in the opto plastic and it is very durable. I wish it had more glide but that could be a skill issue.

I can't speak too much for the consistency of the mold as I have only ever thrown my 172g Opto Line Striker, however, for me, this disc is relenlessly straight. I dont throw this disc a ton, but when I do it's because I want this to go straight all the way through to the moment it touches the ground. Little to no fade or turn with this disc. Just so crazy straight. I will have to pick up another one, probably in Gold Line, just to see about this inconsistency business.
