Every Christmas, my father, brother, and I buy each other a surprise disc, and a couple years ago, the disc I chose for my brother was a Gold Line spark at 165g.  When he opened it, he started laughing because lo and behold, he had bought me the same disc in the same color (little bit heavier weight).  That's how the Spark quickly became my favorite disc.

I had just started throwing/driving forehand, and this was the disc that helped me learn.  It's very forgiving to beginner FH throwers.  Any late release, any time I accidentally turned my wrist over or released anhyzer accidentally, the Spark fought its way back and made me look much better than I really was.  Then one bad throw, and my 170g Spark found itself on the other side of a barbed wire fence on a construction site.  My brother was with me, and on the spot I traded him for his (he liked it but wasn't yet throwing FH so it was purely a specialty BH disc for him).

No matter the weight, the Spark is really easy to throw.  The Gold Line plastic is great, and the mold feels wonderful for a FH grip.  I only recently started turning it over a little bit (I'm throwing harder/better than I was when I first got it), but thrown at a slight hyzer now, I can get it to fly fast and straight for about 200 feet.  Just missed Eagling with it recently (flew right through the chains).  I love this disc so much and will be buying a new one in the near future, as I've given mine to my father as he learns how to throw FH.  It was great for me when I was beginning, so I figured I'd better pay it forward!

I have my disc in the frost glow in the dark plastic which is out of stock in infinite discs. The disc looks awesome and the glow in the dark is alot of fun. As far as the flight and numbers, this is the most overstable disc that I own. Maybe in other plastics it would be different, but I cannot turn this disc over. I use it for forehand shots that I want a predictable fade on because no matter how much anheizer I put on the disc, it will always come back. Having said that, the reason I took the star off is because it's difficult to get big distance with the disc because it fades and dumps pretty quickly. Again, maybe that's the plastic, but as long as I'm using it for utility shots or shorter holes with a forehand, I really like the disc.

I have this disc in opto plastic. It is pretty heavily overstable. I like the feel of the flat plate though.

My first impressions of this disc is that it is very dumpy when it comes to the fade, I'm hoping that is it breaks in it can maintain its stability but also still maintain the reliable fade that I love about it

I picked up a couple Sparks (goldline) on recommendation and after some review.  Looking for a Speed 7 OS (but not crazy OS) disc.

It looked like a mix between a Teebird3 and a Sexton FB - but with more the speed of a speed 7 disc. (I could see it being called speed 8 though)

Feel.  GOOD, really comfortable, not much flashing, not much dome, mostly flat but not a board (as that would make it too OS - from what I hear the early runs of these were super flat and super OS which in that case you'd be dealing with an FD3 or firebird)

The Flight:  It was as expected, a nice flight straight then a hefty (dumpy) fade left on a RHBH throw.  It didn't show much glide at all, i was expecting it to be like a beefy teebird but I feel it flew more like a sexton FB with less aggressive fade.

I am sure things vary by plastic, weight, run, etc - From this goldline spark at 172g I would rate it 7/4/0/2.5 - slightly less glide than a teebird (or most other fairways) and more hyzer finish.

It worked well with FH even though I'm not good at it - but from my throws I saw that it would stay straight (for me it would bend under a little as my FH form is bad) as it turned it would only drift left - then the fade kicks in with a swoop and comes back - medium skip.

I do like the disc a Lot - but wanted to have a little more glide and forward penetration though for what it is its a useful disc flight and I will keep it in the bag. My Fairway lineup now goes Relay, Patriot, Teebird, Spark - from US to OS - then I have a beefy Firebird for more OS.   Its a good fit for what I was looking for and I would recommend this disc for someone wanting a Fairway driver that has a solid low speed fade.

This is the first Control/Fairway driver that I have found that has actually earned a spot in my bag. I have never had this thing turn over on me unless there was a decent headwind. At the same time, doesn't ever fade so hard that the line is missed. I would absolutely recommend the Spark to anyone who is looking for a sturdy control driver for their forehand game.

USES: I love the Spark for forehand hyzer lines between 250-350 foot shots. It has a smooth release, which is crucial for my confidence in the forehand play.

I also use it for backhand hyzer lines, more at the 350-375 foot ranges. I don't use it for my backhand too often, for the fact that I have plenty more discs that do the same line backhand.

The more I play this game, the more I realize that the high speed stuff isn't the solution for me, at least with my back hand game.  I have settled into the speed 7 and 8 range and been so much more successful with those discs.

I picked up a Spark looking for something that I could throw in a headwind and still have a good fade at the end.  This has been a perfect fit for me.  I was currently throwing Explorers, and while calm days gave me the flight I wanted, but headwinds made the disc fly very straight or even turn a bit.  So I grabbed a Spark and it has been perfect.

The Spark reaches out to about 300-325 feet for me.  It stays very straight and then has a good dependable finish.  On calm days, I lose about 25 feet of distance.  The rim is perfect, nice and small to fit in the hand.  The edge is also fairly blunt, which allows it fly less affected from the wind.  I really wish I had found this earlier, it is a must have in the bag for me.

The Spark is one of my favorite discs and is part of my 7 speed dynamic duo (the fd being the other) and an important part of playing the game for me.  I do not have heroic distance (around 300') and I find I will lean on the Spark to do the little things that make a good score possible on the course.  The Spark is very stable and I have never turned it over.  What I like the best about the disc is that the flight is very reliable and seems to do about the same thing whether you are backing off of it or throwing your hardest.  It is easy for me to hit low tight lines or a closer range spike hyzer with it.  This is not a distance disc, this is a tool to help you make that line you just figure might work into a reality.  This would be one of those discs that if my entire bag was another brand, I wouldn't be able to give this one up.

My favorite thing about this disc it its versatility. Forehand and backhand this disc can work hyzer lines, straight shots with some power that finish with fade, and force-over flex lines that hold the anhyzer line until late in the flight. For a long time I only carried two fairway drivers and this was one of them, because it covers a lot of needs and does them all very well. For backhands it flies very similar to an Innova teebird but with slightly less glide and a slightly stronger finish. The spark is one of those discs that people always comment on how great it flies, but they don't have one for some reason.

I have 3 different plastics, the original/initial deco dye from gbo. This is the most stable of the 3. I have a gl and bio and each is a step down from the prior as listed here. The bio can hold an anny all the way to finish, and the deco will fight out of one fairly easiy for myself. This is a great disc  but tridents hold this slot for my bag.

Beginners will find this a bit much unless a hard finish is needed. As arm speed increases this will be a straighter more usable driver

I can definitely see why David Feldberg would want his name on this disc. Right out of the box this disc was amazing. I was able to throw it flat and it would hold dead straight for about 200'-225' then give a good fade at the end. It is a very comfortable, low profile disc that feels like a mix between a convict and an escape. If you have around 300' of power this disc will work as a straight flier with good fade and if you have a little more power you should be able to get this disc to go very straight with minimal fade. The spark also has great glide for such a flat top disc as it just seems to fly forever.

Great consistent disc in gold line plastic. It's not as OS as a star firebird, but it's more OS than a teebird3 at about that same speed too. It's flat so it's nice in the forehand grip as well as backhand. The gold line plastic is grippy and doesn't beat up quickly so find u 3 to replace and wear because this is about as close to a 1 driver round disc as it gets. Extremely versatile.

I carry this disc in two plastic types - Gold line(what I based my numbers on) and Opto. The gold line feels great and rewards those who put it on the right line. I use the gold line for straight shots that flip up to flat with a healthy finish to the left (RHBH). The Opto is used for slightly more overstable lines that are too long for a mid range but not quite longer fairway territory.

5 Stars, the site doesn’t like my tablet??

Spark, Goldline,169g. I can’t be objective it was love at first throw. I am primarily a rhbh  player and throw a Discraft Drone as my os mid, and an Undertaker for my os control driver, both in Big Z. I had hoped that the Spark would give me a Drone flight with a little added distance, and I couldn’t be more pleased.  I am able to play the same lines with an added 25 to 40 feet depending on the throw.  The Spark also powers down nicely, and fades just a bit harder than the Drone when throwing standstill approach shots. I disagree with the low glide rating. The Spark glides very well for an os disc.

Aced with the Spark today with a RHFH throw.  Less than 200 feet.  It's one of those holes that hooks behind foliage where you don't see the Ace, all your scorecard buds do, but you hear the chains and everyone's cheers!  It flies just like a slight poptop 12x Ken Climo Champ Firebird to me.   Hope to find a second one that has no pop/dome, and if so I'll bag two of these like I do with my Firebirds.  I have it in the gold line only, as that's the only plastic I went for when building my Lat 64 bag.  I like the wings on the discs I guess and feel.   Love Opto though.  The gold line feels softer than the innova star plastic to me.  It's almost like a cross between star and g star if that makes any sense.  Such a predictable disc though.  I currently like to mainly forehand this disc.  I use it only on holes that are 300 feet and less.  Love to break it out the most on finesse flicks.  I would say it's an intermediate to advanced or pro players disc imo.

I love the Spark..in all it's flavors.  The flat Moonshine Spark replaced my firebird/very OS, Gold Line Spark replaced my T-bird/straight with OS fade at the very end and Opto Spark replaced my Thunderbird/stable to OS and holds in the wind.  Yeah, it's like that.  Feel great in hand, releases cleanly, very easy to be accurate with this disc.  This is the mainstay in my bag.

Now with my Recycled Spark as my straight to high speed turn and a low speed straight fade, it's all covered.  It's all I need for up to 350' shots.  Additionally, put any of these discs on an anhyzer line or forehand and you have all the shots you need in one fairway driver.  One mold, 4 different flavors of plastic, it's the shit.  Add an Enforcer or Destroyer or what ever distance driver suits your style and your long game is covered.
