If you’re looking for the best disc golf putter for new players, don’t look past the Latitude 64 Ruby. This disc is in the Latitude 64 “easy to use” line. The Ruby is an accurate putter and a great approach disc for beginners. As an understable putter, this disc helps newer players overcome the frustrations of low-speed fade.

The Ruby is a putt and approach disc from Latitude 64. The Ruby felt comfortable in hand and the Zero Medium plastic had some nice grip while still having firmness. The flight of this disc is very straight as a putter. I was able to give it a little bit of snap and it would fly straight for the entire flight. As a thrower, the Ruby is very understable, it wants to turn right out of the hand if given any sort of power. I did not find a lot of use for the Ruby as a thrower, but new players to the game could really use a disc like this.

This is my wife's absolute favorite disc in her bag. First off, kudos to Lat 64 for building the entire easy to throw line. They have done an amazing job at producing comfortable discs for people to learn the game with. The ruby is the easy to throw putter from that line and it absolutely is easy to throw. For beginners, the extreme understability allows for a very point and shoot disc without slow speed fade. My wife prefers the Zero Soft but also has in Zero Medium for approach shots. This plastic is incredibly grippy. There is no other putt / approach disc that I could possibly recommend to beginner disc golf players. This disc is the best possible version of what it is trying to be. Make this your first putter.

What a perfect kids or brand new player disc.  If you are going to buy 1 disc this might be the disc for you.  It will putt straight for low power putters, it will fly straight for new or low power people.

For experienced players? No, this won't be in any player with real power.  This is a true beginner's first disc.
