Fantastic disc. I have first-run recoil that I've bagged ona nd off for a few years. At first it was pure beef, but it seasoned up a bit and I got a little stronger and now it'll hyzerflip at about 380ft of power. Nice feeling rim, not too big, not too shallow, subtle dome, pretty plastic... It's an under-rated disc for sure

This is mainly my utility disc which I use for very windy days. Don't recommend to beginners as it is very difficult to throw at first. I still like this driver and use it for my bigger shots which are around 400 feet. I still feel that I have to put a lot of effort to throw this disc as it is very overstable. The plastic is quite good with it fitting well and being grippy

The disc is fine, but I quickly wanted to say that Brian's review is spot on. I more or less came to the same conclusions, and I more or less wanted to say that all of what he wrote is perfect, a great descriptor of what is truly the Trilogy Destroyer. I found mine to be definitely stable, but not distractingly so. There is very little in the way of flip, unless you perhaps got a pretty strong tailwind to contend with.

PROS: Great distance driver for those with the arm for it.

CONS: Can't really think of any. Again, an exceptional driver.

Very reliable OS driver. Not for noodle arms, this disc require a ton of power to throw well.

arm is finally able to throw this disc (injury) love this to hit gaps among the mist of trees. . . .

4.5 stars also 4 stars on forehand shots, still wishing backhand and forehands went the same distance

but that:s on me not the disc

    Disc: 174g Opto Recoil

The Opto Recoil is a distance driver with moderate dome that feels comfortable for both backhands and forehands. Coming from a mostly Innova guy, its flight is similar to a Wraith out of the box. However, the Opto plastic seems to lose its flight characteristics pretty quickly. Even though my Opto Recoil appeared durable and didn't show any signs of wear, it lost a significant amount of stability in just a few months.

On calm days, the Recoil will sometimes make my bag for flip-up backhands and S-curving forehands. But in the wind, it's less predictable than most other drivers I've thrown (Destroyers, Wraiths, Raiders, Thunderbirds)

The recoil is a fantastic overstable distance driver that automatically gets bonus points for coming in opto plastic.  The mold feels great in the hand for forehands and backhands.  Although beefy, the recoil can still get some decent distance instead of just dumping out of the air.  It's unlikely that many players, especially non-professionals, will get much distance/use out of throwing the recoil on backhands, but it is a great options for those with a strong forehand.

First Run Opto Recoil. I got this on a whim and it is a beefy driver; super over stable. It is as every bit as overstable at it's numbers claim. Decent glide with unrelenting fade makes this a monster wind fighter. Less powerful arms might not like how overstable this disc is, but for big power backhand drives and especially powerful forehand drives this is a great disc. Pump as much power into the Recoil and it will reliably fade after good distance.

I was looking for a forehand disc that wouldn't turnover and wouldn't fade too much.  After trying several I used the recoil as my go to forehand driver for a while.  I have since switched to the World as they have a similar flight path and the World goes a bit farther.  The Recoil is comfortable to hold and throw forehand but I would only recommend it to forehand throwers with good spin and speed.  My backhand it not fast enough to throw this so I can't speak to that.  It is very consistent as far as fade and distance and a reliable driver all around.

Perfect disc for what I was looking for.

I am primarily a Latitude thrower, however I came across an unmarked Trespass one day while I was searching for my River that I threw into a river (RIP). Anyways I bagged the Trespass for a while and it became one of my favorite discs. However being a Latitude thrower I was looking for something equivalent from Latitude.

Enter the Recoil. Feels very similar to a Trespass and flies just a touch more stable. As someone who is not comfortable throwing Distance drivers on the regular I use this disc for primarily throws into strong headwinds and throws into moderate headwinds but need to finish to the left with a fade.

It does exactly that! Also in field practice this is my farthest throwing disc too! As someone who is starting to grow out of fairways I feel like this disc is a great step up for someone wanting to try the distance drivers for the first time after learning some proper form and breaking 300 feet consistently with a fairway.

Don't get me wrong this isn't something I use on every throw...yet, I aspire to get there however. For now its exactly what I wanted for my bag.

I went into my testing of the Recoil by thinking how it might compare to another disc by the same company (Latitude 64) that has very similar flight numbers in terms of speed and fade-- the Gladiator. They look so similar in what they are supposed to do that I wanted to compare them. Both of those discs fall into the "similar to a Destroyer" category with speed-12 rims and an overstable finish. I liked the Gladiator, but it was almost more of a utility disc for me, more useful in wind conditions than normal weather conditions, or as a disc when I need a hard fade.

With the Recoil, I found the rim to be a little bit less "smooth" than the Gladiator, which I actually like because I can more easily control the release-- when the disc leaves my fingers. Sometimes I feel like the really smooth driver rims can side off my fingers just a moment too soon. I was more easily able to control that split-second release with the Recoil and get it to go right where I wanted it to go. So, given a choice between those two similar discs, I'd take the Recoil as a great 12-speed overstable disc. It did fade noticeably every time and I primarily throw right-hand-backhand.

Not recommended for beginners since it is higher speed and overstable, so it is more suited to experienced players in the intermediate to advanced skill level.

This is a great disc! It feels very sleek and L64 Opto plastic is one of my favorites. I've thrown this both forehand and backhand. It flies reliably straight with a nice predictable fade. The rim is very comfortable and not huge, almost an 11 speed rim size.

I feel confident the Recoil won't flip on me, but it also doesn't feel like it has as much fade as stated. I'd say it's closer to a 2.5 fade, than a 3. The 0 turn feels right though. It will flex back out of a RHFH anhyzer and go right.

I really like this disc in the Latitude lineup. I'm currently in a disc down mode to focus on form. As I work my way back up to 12 speed drivers I do plan on this making the bag.
