Not here to fight over speed numbers, just to give a review.  I bought this thing years ago when it was in production, with full knowledge that even if the numbers were right I don't have the arm for it.  And I don't.  It is fast though.  Not sure if it's 15 fast, but fast.  Does not turn, always fades.  Definitely not glidey, but 3 is a little extreme.  Might be a 4.  Definitely a weird disc, doesn't really behave like anything else I've tried.  So maybe those hexagons on the top did do something.

I don't have a mortar for an arm so the only thing I throw this for is a very specific trick shot that's gotten me out of trouble a few times.  I'm a RHFH thrower by preference, and I learned that because this thing is so pig-headedly determined to finish with a hard fade right, I can actually chuck it from a 3/4 arm slot with a bunch of anhyzer and it'll still flip back over, even if I really crank on it.  So it'll spend the first couple hundred feet behaving like a RHBH hyzer meathook and then bend back around to finish like a typical forehand throw that you left a bit high.  Blew my buddy's mind when he saw me pull it off in the middle of a round.

Not really sure how to rate it , because 1) I'm not really the target audience, and 2) this thing really feels an experiment more than a traditional disc.  I guess it did it's job well enough because it does feel different, regardless of if "different" translates to "good".

If this disc "features hexagon shaped cavities in the top surface and the bottom of the rim" then is this not in violation of the PDGA Technical Standards (C) Guidelines for Discs Manufactured for PDGA Competition?

"(7) have a smooth surface on the bottom part of the rim; that is, a surface free of any irregularities such as protrusions or depressions. When placed on a flat surface, the rim must have no discernible gaps between itself and the surface on which it is resting."

This is hands down the fastest disc I've ever seen. On my RHFH it does a very slight turn, just continues burning ground and a fade near the end. If you need to get past obstacles or rip through a tunnel, this might be the disc for you! Only down side is the small amount of glide. Its literally a super fast flight from start to finish only eating up around 300 ft worth of ground for me

I was not smart and bought this as my first disc because it had a big speed number. My arm isn't big enough to throw this disc. I'm sure it's not a bad disc, it just doesn't work for me.

I wanted to like this disc because it was something new and was hyped about it. There are just some discs that should not get that kind of hype though, especially ones that are not meant for 90 percent of the players. It is extremely overstable, which is fine I love some discs that are that way. The problem comes in the feel of the disc and the inconsistency in flight. I liked the concept of the hexes as I was a ball golfer first and know how important dimples are. They are more gimmicky on this as a selling point and they do not feel good in the hand. the other issue comes in the rim being gigantic and uncomfortable to most people. To me, this is a gimmick disc that was aimed at new players who associate higher speeds with more distance (I did the very thing as a beginner and it killed my game for many years thinking that they would be better). It isn't even thrown by any top pro's because it just isn't a good disc. Try something a little more friendly: Giant, World, Defender, Destroyer, Nuke

My favorite distance driver and often the only one I carry since it can do everything I need.  I like the hex (especially when wet or cold) and the thumb pads are perfectly placed for my rhbh (psycologically I feel like they make my grip more consistent).  Speaking of rhbh, my forehand needs work,so consider this review exclusive to backhand throws.  Its not particularly flat or domey or tall or short - it feels good in hand just not memorable  The rim width is significant as is to be expected.  Gold line plastic has great grip and beats-in faster than Opto.  I can't throw it as far as a Halo or Raketen, but unlike those the Missilen "tries" to land in the fairway.  400+ ft with consistency/accuracy is better than occassionaly 450+ ft and too often the wrong fairway.  My Missilen always out-distances my Star Destroyers.  Its not nearly as overstable as the flight chart shows but still shrugs off wind and will hold a big hyzer.  I get very slight turn (less than 0.25 when new and more than 0.25 fully beat-in) at 100% power.  Small hyzers might flip to flat at full speed or into a headwind.  I prefer to throw long flex shots when the fairway allows room to the right and stillI have zero hesitation doing that in any wind condition.  Thrown flat and low the lack of glide really limits fade but it will always finish left of center.  The onset of fade is late as the Missilen doesn't slow down much.  A birdie machine at 400 ft if there are no trees or mandos to navigate!   With some height you will see significant fade and enable epic-big flex shots to get around obstacles.  Good thumber, but not the best.  It powers down into a very overstable flight path or skip disc.  I throw with high velocity and prefer discs with little glide and the Missilen doesn't glide much... I'd give it a 3.75 in Innova dialect.  Is it the fastest disc?  I don't care.  For me it is obviously faster than every Speed 12 I have and feels faster than the 13's.  Honestly my Rask is probably faster out of hand, but it is every bit as overstable as its flight chart suggests (and more).  I'd say the Missilen is carrying more speed at end of its much longer flight.  The Missilen really compliments Champion Thunderbird fairway drivers IMHO.  One last disc comparison... it is like my cherished 2nd-run FD's just 200% faster and 50% longer!

For now I've met a match for RHBH tossing.  I love it however.  Speed is so fun and fast it's uncomparible to me.  There's a place in my bag, and a time for it too.  I'll take this out for drives with doglegs left and skip it at shorter ranges.  I've not gotten there yet for 450 footers.  Another teacher for learners of the art of bombing.

To qualify my review I'll describe my throwing style first. I'm a flicker, so I throw sidearm or RHFH. I throw with a lot of power and tend to turn discs over easily. My range is usually about 380' but I can hit up to 460'.

The Missilen is one of my new favorites. I picked one up because I heard the overstability combined with the dimples makes it a great wind disc. I've since fallen in love with it, even though I prefer a Nuke OS in a stiff headwind.

When I throw I put this on a steep angle and pop it high in the air. It's got more turn than the numbers and Inbounds flight path indicate as it will carry to the left for quite a ways before slowing and fading. This makes for a unique and reliable flight path for me that hits almost perfectly straight, (I aim where I want it to go as opposed to compensating for it's path by aiming right or left of my intended target).

I have hit a max of 420' with this disc in a light left to right wind. I can count on it for 370' normally with only about 40' left to right action. So when it's a tight long fairway I love this disc.

For most arms and throwing styles this would probably be an outstanding wind disc.
