I'm a 72-year old disc golf player and most of my drivers are fairway drivers with speeds ranging from 6 to 8.  I moved up to a speed 9 with the Jade because the Jade was described as an "Easy to Throw" disc and it comes in very low weights with opto air.  The Jade does seem easier to throw than most fairway discs and it flies straighter that its numbers would suggest especially with just a little anhyzer for me since I haven't got much speed left in my arm.  The flights seem to be very predicable and it glides extremely well. I can throw this disc a little further than my other fairway dirvers.  The only minor downside is that opto air doesn't seem quite as durable as the regular opto plastic.  Still, I really love this disc

I am a 55 year old female newbie, and have yet to reach a huge distance. Thus the search for an entry speed driver that was light weight.  I am throwing around 65m max at the moment (216 feet)

This opto air Jade came in at 148g and on my very first throw on our local field it created the OMG moment. It went an instant 10m further than anything I have been able to throw.  And it is has a lovely flight path.  For those who have an Undetaker this has the same stats and would be about the same with regards to what to expect. However, it seems to be softer in the line it takes if that makes sense.  As a newbie the Undertaker is just a little too high speed for me to really get the best out of it. So if you throw this Jade straight? It goes straight. The fade at the end is very subtle.

I have thrown it with a slight head wind and tail wind, and it worked fine under both conditions. I would not expect to even try it in higher wind levels, but low levels of wind did not have an adverse effect.

I also have the opto air Explorer which is a great accompanying disc.

So who would I recommend the opto air Jade to?
Anyone.  But particularly newbies and females.  It sits in the hand beautifully with no attempt to drop on the outside edge due to it being so light.  And it is available in reasonable weights without needing to go super light.  My husband threw it and struggled due to the fact of over muscling it.  But for those who have a deft touch and are not able to really have high arm speed this will be a great asset.

Will also try the opto air river at some stage, because if it flies the same as the air Explorer and this Jade? Will be a nice set to take out.

The opto air Jade is even lighter than the regular Jade. Mine came in at 148gm. I am a newbie (only a few months) and a female in her 50's.  So this disc was one I was keen to try.  Well, I have to say - it flies like a laser beam. First try out on our local green, and it was going 10m further than any disc I can throw.  The head wind was slight, but it still did what I wanted it to.

Definitely recommend for newbies, smaller framed throwers etc.  My husband also had a go and found with his strength it was turning over.  I never had that issue. It just went wonderfully straight and glided for a very long time.  Probably more of a back hand disc than a forehand.  But a joy to throw. For comparison it seems to have same characteristics as the undertaker.  But in the light weight does not fade quite as strongly.  Now need to find a way of trying the opto air river. :)
