First driver I was able to throw flat and it would have a baby flip and dead straight, great beginner 9 speed.

This disc has been a game changer for me as a novice player.  The lighter weight options and the understandable flight help me throw a 9-speed disc relatively straight for the first time.  If you are thinking about moving up to a 9-speed discs this is a great option.  I have far from perfect form and struggle with distance but this disc added distance with a gentle fade.  I really like the opto plastic.  I have an opto air 150 gram Jade and a 160 gram opto Jade.  The lighter weight disc is what I can throw farthest but struggled with it on breezy days.  The 160 range is the better option just because it is less affected by wind.

This is probably my favorite disc overall and a phenomenal driver for wooded holes. This thing goes dead straight with a slight finish left for me, and doesn't take too much extra effort to turn over. If the hole requires a straight shot with distance this is the disc I use.

I was absolutely able to maximize my distance with this disc! I loved the understability mixed with the stronger left finish. The lighter weights really help me get the extra distance. It also helps me shape the longer shots.

Very new beginners shouldn't mess with this speed quite yet, but once you're able to get your speed up, this is an amazing distance driver. I'm sure a more powerful thrower would turn this disc over every time, but for now, I absolutely love it!

Latitude 64 knocked it out of the park with this mold!

Fantastic beginner disc, especially in lighter weights. My 157g Jade will fly dead straight on my forehands, sometimes turning a little bit, and fly a huge flex line for my backhands. Currently my longest distance forehand disc and close to it with my backhand.

Feels great in the hand, and would recommend to anyone starting in disc golf looking for a distance driver.

Started my game throwing a Jade.

Thought I'd improved to the point a higher speed disc made sense. Then I accidentally grabbed a lavender 6 speed Leopard disc and flung it thinking it was my 12 speed Tern. it went as far.

Returned to Field Work and realized- I get as much distance from Leopard, Centurion, Jade and Sapphire as my distance drivers. Concluded my are speed normally generates 7 to 8 speed throws. Very rarely do I spin a disc hard enough to benefit from Driver's bulky wide rims.

I am happily back to throwing the Jade other Fairway Drivers. The Jade's turn & fade suit my form well. I have repeatable controllable and predictable throws with my Jade. The predictability leads to more confidence and repeat throws with the same disc. And more repeated use with the same disc leads to a better game.

    159 Opto Jade

The Jade has been a very good disc for me to use in our wooded New England courses. It was very easy to use as I was learning how to throw as a beginner. Initially, I could throw this further than anything else in my bag and it was easy to control. Now, even though it is not in my bag on every course or round, there are some courses I do not want to play without it.

It is easy to get a nice flex for certain wooded lines. I can also rip it low for a very straight shot once it flips up. One of the most useful shots for me is a stand still shot on an uphill lie. The lightweight disc and flight characteristics allow me to get a little bit of distance on an otherwise difficult shot. Great uphill tee shot disc as well. I also throw a gold line Jade and do not notice much of a difference. My personal preference for feel is the Opto. Overall, highly recommend for a beginner or experienced player who navigates through hilly wooded courses. You may find a few shots for it.

This is my go to for easy distance and a nice S flight. I have a below average arm but I can pick up 30 extra feet with this disc. I have two in my bag; one new and beat in. Both are flat and feel good in the hand. The new one will fly straight and lightly fade at the end. My beat up will slowly curve right and come back at the end of the flight. Recommend for backhand players looking for an easy disc to throw.

I absolutely love this disc. I've been playing for about 6 months now and while I'm constantly working on improving my form and arm speed, this disc flys like a dream for me. I'm a male player around 5'9" with slightly less than average hand size and this disc gives me the best grip of any disc I've thrown. I throw a 157-159g Jade in Opto plastic and getting it to fly along its flight path feels effortless. I've noticed that I'm turning it over more as I improve and that's allowed me to practice throwing more hyzer angles.

Highly recommend for beginners, players with slower arm speeds, and those with smaller hands. I throw a lot of Discraft and Innova, but after throwing the Jade Latitude 64 has begun to take over my bag. Lat64 and Kastaplast have some of the best feeling plastics out there.

I had a very bad injury to my throwing arm that kept me from playing for 6 years.  Returning to the sport a year ago I struggled with what I used to throw, it was like starting over again.  Then I found the Jade......total game changer....I got my accuracy and distance back with this disc....it throws effortlessly and glides for days.....I like it so much I decided to get the Saphire for a little more stability.....the anhyzer with the Jade is easy as well as the long hyzer shots.....I recommend this disc to any new player or those rehabbing from injury......the key is to not to try and crush it but to give a nice smooth delivery....you will not be disappointed

I found this disc to be very understable.  If i throw this disc flat it will turn for days and not come back, but if you have a tunnel shot throw this disc on a hyzer flip and this disc will flip up with some turn and have a nice fading finish at the end of the flight.

This has become my go-to driver.  I don't have a strong arm and I get more distance out of the Jade (I have it in opto and gold).  I can throw a teebird maybe 280', but I can get 300' (and occasionally further) throwing the Jade.  I would recommend this driver for beginners and for those who don't have a strong arm.  It flies nice and straight, has lots of glide, and if you get enough power on it, it has a gentle turn with a finishing fade. It is not a great disc for a headwind, but you can use a hyzer release and get it go fairly straight. It will hold a nice anhyzer line.

The Jade, imho, is the best lightweight control driver on the market. Perhaps, because it was designed as a lightweight driver and isn’t just a lighter version of a heavier mold. If you don’t throw beyond 330’ this could be your go to driver. Its stability is just perfect. The jade responds smoothly to changes in release angle and speed.

Great bomber for beginners, I have this disc at a relatively low weight and it has become a great disc to put a bit of power behind on a nice hyzer line and let it glide.  This should be considered by most beginners as their first "distance driver".

This is my favorite control driver to date. I drive forehand righthanded and tend to overpower throws and turn them over, but with the Jade, I've found it a little more forgiving. My particular disc is a little flatter than other control drivers i've tried Idk if that has anything to do with it, but when i start to turn this baby over it tends to sit up a S a little bit for me, improving my distance and accuracy since I know how it wants to fly now. Great disc!

For those with noodle arms or beginners this disc is awesome. It is for good shot shaping in low wind conditions, but in wind it can get a little squirrelly. The opto plastic has a great feel, and is very resistant to damage. This disc is not just for beginners, but those with big arms will need to power down on it. It is a speed nine disc, so it might be a little too fast for children or some new players, but they should grow into it. I think it will stay in my bag.

    not for everybody

I call the Jade a jack of all trades, but a master of none. For me, a player who really likes to muscle a disc around, the Jade is too light and too understable to be of use. However, my ten year old daughter does use it for her headwind driver. For smaller arms, there is just enough stability to not flip off to Timbuktu (like the Jade's cousin, the Diamond) into a headwind. It can also hold long, glidey hyzers given the right angle and power. With a bit of power it will even hold glidey anhyzers. The metal flake Jade my daughter uses is also really good for her sidearms.

For younger or low power players, the Jade is an excellent all-around disc. Maybe even better than the Innova Leopard, which is what I normally reccomend in those situations. More experienced players, however, will find little use for the Jade.

For someone who doesn't have the most powerful arm, this disc is great. I primarily drive forehand, with backhand drives being a challenge for me. With the Jade, I can get the disc on the line I want without having to worry about my weakling arm. Super easy to throw, holds the line you out it on and has a very dependable fade. Is rate it at a 3 instead of the 2, just because I feel like it comes back a bit harder than you would think at first.

My only complaint is that when I get cocky, it's easy to over throw with this disc and completely ruin the shot as it does not recover well. Still a very awesome disc that I'm very glad to have.

I can't say enough great things about the Jade.  The Jade is my main driver, and a staple in my bag.  I carry at least 2, with a backup stash that I rotate to keep them all flying the way I like.  The Jade is a great step up if you loved throwing a Diamond, but start turning it over.  I was buring my Diamonds into the ground as rollers, by trying to overpower them on a drive.  The Jade handles that extra power with ease!  The rim depth on this disc seems to be a perfect fit into my hand, and I can make it do work for me.  When thrown with a slight anhyzer angle, it arcs beatifully to the right, but then fades back a bit, with a beautiful S flight. When thrown flat, it tracks to the right, with reliable fade back left.  On a hyzer angle, if thrown hard enough I can get it to hyzer flip, which I do not do often since I have slower discs that I can get the same result from.  With my normal arm speed, a hyzer angle gives it a long fading flight.

I have tried both Opto and Gold Line of the Jade, and I really prefer the Opto.  I feel the Gold has a touch more glide, but I really prefer the softer and more flexible feel of the Opto.  I have added a Gold to the bag since it is getting very warm, and the plastic is a lot softer than it is in the cold. If the temperature is below at least 60, I won't throw the Gold.

A lot of players seem to have varying opinions on light weight discs in the wind.  I can tell you, that I still throw the Jade no matter what wind conditions there are.  Instead of switching discs, I adjust the angle of release based on the wind direction.  I played in a tournament a few months ago now that the wind was blowing 30-40mph constant, and the Jade did just fine.  The guys on my card were dumbfounded that a 154g disc was not getting tossed around by the wind.  I figured it was important to note that.

I would recommend the Jade to players who have been playing for awhlie that are progressing through the speeds of discs.  The Diamond would be better to start with, and if you're getting too much flip, then graduate to the Jade.  These are not only "beginner" or "women and kids" discs, so don't let that stop you from trying one.

This is a great 150 class driver. It has surprising stability, even in light winds, and dependable fade, yet is very easy for a rubber-arm to get out to 300' or so. It isn't flippy like many lighter discs. Highly recommended.

I've been playing for a little over 2 years, and I don't have a huge arm. But I can definitely get 300 ft out with this disc. (300+ is pretty big for me)
With a slight hyzer release it flips right up and does a small hook with a left finish, very predictable and easy to control. Great for beginners.
