Everyone needs to buy this disc!  It's just plain fun.  This is the disc that you can take with you everywhere. Play catch, play golf, goof around. The best way to practice...

The disc is shaped like an Ultimate lid or old school frisbee, but is much smaller in diameter and height, and has that thin lid type rim. It is slightly larger in diameter than my putter (Pure), as well as a little deeper rim.  So it will fit in a bag better then say a Condor or Zephyr.

The plastic is flexible, but the shape of the rim keeps it from being too flimsy to throw. This makes is very easy on the hands to play catch with. The disc flies great. Throw it with a flick of the wrist and lots of spin and it will hang in the air with ease. Learn all the angles with this disc.

The weight is light (143g) which is good for kids or new players, but a bit light for breezy days. I'd really be interested if they could make one in the 165gram area...I think that would be sweet.

Bottom line:  It's a fun disc that isnt so huge, so you can take it everywhere. Buy one.

OK, let's get straight to the point...The Beetle is a catch-and-throw disc, first and foremost. Yes, it is PDGA approved, and it is sized closer to the diameter of a disc golf disc rather than the typical "frisbee" (definitely smaller than an Ultimate disc), but it isn't really the kind of disc you'd put in your bag for regular use on the course. If you do, you might just lose one of your drivers, as it vanishes into the deep bottom bowl of the Beetle.

You can use the Beetle for slow-motion, short approaches with some accuracy, though with any power at all, it will pull to the understable side and not fade back. It only takes a little flick-of-the-wrist to launch this disc with control for a straight shot. You won't be able to power this one into the basket, but you could putt with it if you like to throw very light, finesse shots. I'd probably get a chuckle if I saw somebody using the Beetle as their primary putter, but only because it would say something about the unique style of the player.

Honestly, my strong recommendation for the Beetle would be to give it to a young child who wants to go disc golfing with you. It's perfect for them! They can actually throw it, and probably get it to fly as straight as an arrow. Then, once they're tired of playing disc golf, they can play catch with it. At least nobody will get hurt, because the Beetle doesn't fly fast enough to even merit a minor bruise.

The "Spill" plastic is just a renamed version of Latitude 64's "Recycled" or "Reprocessed" plastic. It is like a slightly gummy version of Gold Line. I like the feel of the plastic.
