The Reko X, from Kastaplast, is a flatter, more stable version of the classic Reko putter, tweaked to become an ideal approach putter that can be thrown with more power. It's also a great option for headwind putts or for confident spin-putters.

This is an under appreciated beaded approach putter with the perfect amount of overstability for a lot of players and shots. It sits between the beefy overstable approach discs that are so popular and that straight putter or mid you might also use for approaches.

When I got it for that in between slot, I thought I'd use it occasionally. I mostly wanted it for tee shots or long approaches, where I needed a little more glide than a Zone clone but still wanted a reliable finish. This slotted in perfectly. What I didn't expect was that I now find myself reaching for it more than any other approach disc as well.

It's just overstable and reliable enough that I trust it and the K1 plastic is among the best on the market. Grippy, durable, and good looking.

The only thing to understand going in is that the bead is substantial. While beefy approach discs with a big bead are out there, I haven't felt anything exactly like the Reko X. It's extremely comfortable for me but I expect it will be hit or miss in general. Coming from a more typical bead and shape on the regular Reko, it's worth noting that the difference in feel is not trivial.

As an in between disc, a lot of people won't bother to bag something like this. You can get by with a neutral throwing putter and an approach disc. But if you want a little more flexibility in your approach game, a dependable overstable putter with less bite than the beefy approach discs can be really useful. This is a great option for that slot.

The Reko X is my go to throwing putter. I can trust on turnover shots that it won't burn and roll, and it is stable enough to fight out of slight flex lines without being unworkable. It doesn't want to skip very much, so will stay close even when landing on steep hyzer angle. The Reko X feels less glidey than other popular throwing putters, making it reliable in wind and predictable on the ground.

In the hand, the shape is reminiscient of a midrange due to the rounded bottom, just with a blunter nose. For me, this means that it settles nicely in my hand, giving me a comfortable release every time.

I prefer the Reko-x to the Reko, I found the Reko to be a little too touchy and wind-sensitive to rely on as a throwing putter.  The bead on the Reko-x gives the disc more stability and torque resistance when compared to the Reko and I find it makes for a much better throwing putter.  It still has a fairly mild fade, I can throw this disc a little bit harder off the tee and not worry about it turning over or drifting off to the right when thrown backhand.  It also seems to fly a little faster than the Reko, I find I can get a bit more distance out of this disc when using it as a throwing putter.  If I wasn't already pleased with my usual putter (Penrose) I would consider using the Reko-x to putt with, it feels good in the hand and the K1 plastic feels great.  This disc is great for beginners too.

This is what I wanted the Luna to be and more. There has always been a debate about whether or not the Luna or Evny was better for a throwing putter. Well that has been put to rest because neither is the best throing putter. It is the Reko X. The additional stability for this disc allows a player to put a little extra umph on it and know that it is not going to flip over and burn. But thrown flat, this disc will push forward and then always have a reliable fade at the end. This is what I was looking for in a throwing putter, and I can get it in premium K1 plastic. Just amazing.

I normally love Kastaplast's molds, but the Reko X was not for me. I definitely wanted it to be though. It's a lot deeper in my hand than I thought it would be so I had trouble with clean releases. The flight plate was board flat and the overall shape of the disc was fine. It's definitely stable. It flew a lot like how my Jawbreaker Zone flies now that it's beat in. Straight then dumpy. I can see how some would love this just not for me.

Man I love these. I loved the Reko before this came out, but this shape feels even better and more secure in my hand. It kicked my beloved rekos out of the bag and I have been beating in some k3 reko x to putt with too.

Some of the videos on this disc made it sound crazy beefy, but it's not. It's reliably beefy and stable without being an "overstable" putter.  Think Envy or P2, not Zone. I didn't throw putters a ton before this disc came out, but something just clicked with me and this mold and I've been a putter guy lately.

    Love this disc.

As a BH thrower, amazing straight flight first but then serious fade. I feel like a lot of purported 2 fade discs don't really exhibit it, but this one truly does. Serious fade, but forward pushing all the while. Thrown with anny, will definitely fight out, at the least to flat, if not even back to hyzering some.

I tried it because it's Kasta, but was surprised to find it reminded me of my Yeti Aviars in shape...it's just a bit deeper/beefier Yeti Aviar to me, which I loveee.

Excited to try a K3 for putting, because the big bead (if you can call it a bead) feels super comfortable for my putting grip.

I have been putting and throwing the Reko and was instantly interested in the Reko X being slightly more stable. As soon as I got one in my hand, it was like I instantly recognized the feel. And it threw and putted absolutely amazing. And that was when I realized Kastaplast had just reincarnated the DD Marshal and said it's no wonder I love this disc, because the Marshal was my favorite putter of all before it was retired and I moved on to the Reko. Now I have an old favorite in the Kastaplast family now and can't wait for K3 Hard to come out
