Flight numbers are definitely accurate, trowing a 175 Halo Star Sonic. When you first hold this you think, "Wow, this is like the free discs businesses give out at fairs". I'm finding it good for putts inside 50, though i'm not a great putter, I a good portion of the time hit the cage of the pole. The Glide is definitely noticeable at that range as I need a slight bit more height and juice to get it there. Another perk I found is the disc being wet did not play too much into effecting me throwing. compared to other discs, the sonic has a very thin lip on the bottom and the ribs on the top keeping it from really slipping as with other discs. It takes a good while to feel confident in the Sonic, but with practice and time I've found it to be my more trusted putter. I'm looking into trying out the galatic XT plastic as it has more grip for the chains than the halo star. The warehouse guy said it may be a tick less stable, which is probably good because it will hide some of my form issues. I would not recommend it for anying but putts and short approaches about 100ft. Otherwise the understability will work against you.

    Great Approach/Utility 1 Speed

I've been bagging a Sonic for a few years now, started with a Star and just started bagging a 2022 Halo Sonic. I use it primarily as a utility putter. Get out of trouble or when I need a dead straight short approach that needs to land flat with no ground play. Great for short patent pending shots when you need to bend one against the grain. They are fun to throw off the tee but when given any power, you really need to hyzerflip it. On some big throwdown shots, it's so fun to extreme hyzerflip it and watch it slowly flip all the way over and ride straight or keep on flipping to the right.

The Sonic is also great for playing catch and warming up with friends before a round, or whenever you want to play catch. Even at max weight they don't hurt to catch because they have such a lid style that the nose is flat like a wall. I know GG putts with his sometimes, but I don't think it's the best putting putter... I only use it in very specific scenarios where I need to have it hold a slight anhyzer around an obstacle and I can't hang my Penrose out to the left on a bigger anny line.

Sonics are fun and everyone should have one in the bag or in the backseat of your vehicle. Next to the Rollo, this is probably the most "fun" disc in the sport.

I know several people who love the Sonic and use every round; however, this disc just isn't for me.  The feel is awkward and I just couldn't get comfortable throwing it.  The flight was inconsistent and uncontrollable where it would either drop short or sail away from the target.  I know this isn't a popular opinion of the Sonic, but it will not be in my bag.

Hard to nail down exact numbers for this thing, you just gotta throw it. This disc is unlike anything I've thrown, great for high, floaty, arching putts on anhyzer the whole way. I can trust this thing out to 65' and it just won't fade at all great for scrambles.

My all time favorite catch-frisbee type disc. I first tried it in the dx plastic and immediately loved it, but the flight plate often cracks open when hitting trees with dx. So now that it has come out in the Halo plastic, cracking isn't a problem! It is extremely easy to manipulate, and it has the softest landing of any disc out there. Being a 1 speed understable disc, it requires the least amount of power to throw straight. It is excellent for upshots, throw ins, and putts. This is also an excellent disc to use for avoiding roll aways, working on touch with a slower disc, and playing catch

The halo star sonic has quickly become one of the favorite discs in my bag. Not just because it's pretty, but because it flies so well. That being said, the sonic is not a disc for everybody. This disc is not meant for distance, it is meant for touch. It was built for pitch and putt courses. Spin this thing out with height and hyzer and it will fly dead straight with no fade. Throw it high and flat and it will turn beautifully. It is very finicky though. If you overpower it, throw it with wobble, leave it low, or throw it on the wrong angle it will turn and burn on you. But if you treat it like a sonic it flies unlike any other disc. Although it is uncomfortable to hold, the sonic is great for learning touch.

The Sonic truly is one of the most beginner friendly discs for anyone coming from the background of ultimate or catch discs. Obviously very different than other putters or approach discs. It is very deep with a flat leading edge. There is the ridged thumb track on top very similar to an ultimate disc.

The Sonic is a VERY understable disc in light weights and base plastics. DX is a good choice for a very floaty US approach disc that absolutely refuses to fade. The star Gurthie runs from the last few years are slightly less US, at most getting back to flat if you give it enough air but still doesn't really fade. The Halo run is a lot closer to purely neutral, especially in the heavier weights.

The glide of the Sonic is definitely one of the defining features. You can focus on accuracy with very little power and let the disc float to the target. With added skill, touch, and practice, it is also a good disc for tight/technical flick shots.

Overall, the Sonic is a great disc to move from catch Frisbee to disc golf, but with a lot of practice and touch, can also be a very useful utility upshot disc. Star and Halo runs are the best to go for.

GG HALO SONIC!!! I've been wanting a Sonic for several years now. Specifically a Star or even better a Halo Star. I tried friends out who throws it quite often and even up to 350 (he can throw 500 legitimately so this disc can fly even at big power with good form).

I don't throw nearly as far, avg distance drive is about 375 but can occasionally get one out to 400 on flat ground. Under power with a fan grip the Halo Sonic will flip up slightly and just hold dead straight for me out to about 250-260. I've only had it for a few days now so more testing is needed but I just love the flight and feel of this disc.

I've been in need of a better touch upshot disc that flies straight at low power but I can also soft floaty run and stay within 15 feet. That's exactly what it does and it sits quickly too. Now I just need to find a few backups. Hopefully they make more.

I'm going to adjust the flight numbers just slightly. 1/3/-3/0 I think are closer. A bit more glide then 2 for sure and hard to call it -4 no doubt in the plastic.
