I have a neon yellow F2 in champ plastic, 169g. Perfect woods disc. Predictable. Can't damage it. Flies like an S, and lands like a leaf. Easy to throw well forehand. Flight numbers are accurate for champ plastic. Great disc in general.

The Innova panther was one of the first discs I owned as a new player a few years ago because it's easy to throw and keeps whatever like you put it on.  As a more advanced player now I still bag this disc for those exact reasons.  I am predominantly a forehand player and when I need something to hold an anhyzer line with a lot of glide this is my go to, especially in the woods.  I definitely recommend this disc to all new players.

This disc flies true to what it is suppose to do. It will turn over if you throw it flat or fast enough. I have not seen that in a different mold I have used from Innova in the midrange category. I can't recall it, but I think it was the whale. Anyways, this disc is very domy and needs quite a bit of height to get the full flight characteristics of the flight. It will go very far on an hyzer flip up to flat. An interesting characteristic of this disc is I cannot get it to anhyzer easily. It needs to be thrown lower because if it gets too much height it will just stall out and hit dead straight. I can throw my putters on an anhyzer line and keep its line the whole way. But I don't see that happening this this disc.

Disc - 175 Innova Champion Panther

Feel - The panther is one of the most interesting discs in the Innova lineup. It is a small diameter midrange that has a bit of dome on it. It has no bead and a fairly shallow feel for a mid in my opinion.

Flight - This disc is one of the more interesting ones in the innova lineup. It flies very nicely as a fairly understable mid but the feels very differently than many other mids. If you prefer the smaller diameter discs the panther could be a great option for you but otherwise I feel that there are better options on the market.

Overall - The panther is a good mid but there is probably more options out there that would work better for most people.

Very good option for a first true midrange for a new player. I have bagged a 170 gram since I stated playing and it has moved around in my bag quite a bit, but I think it has fit very well as both straight beginner mid and as an understable disc for stronger or more advanced players.

The disc feels really good in the hand, with quite a bit of dome and probably more glide than the flight numbers give it credit for. Certainly a disc that is worth picking up, especially for beginners.

Bought this on a bit of a whim a month ago and it is exactly what I wanted out of the Mako3. It holds the line thrown pretty well and I don't have to worry about it flipping over like my Mako3 does, especially if there is a slight breeze. Kind of surprised I've played for this long and am just now finding out about it.

I love a good understable midrange and I love Innova, so I checked out the panther. When I first bought it, I threw it a few times and it always turned over for me. Very understable. I recently put it back in my bag to try it out again and I've gotten some great throws out of it, but the disc is very touchy. I've only used it at a pretty short course because I can't put too much power on it without it flipping. It is a great disc for beginners as it should give them easy distance and teach them about release angles, but I personally don't love it. The champion plastic is too gummy (which I'm normally ok with) and it is very domey for a mid. I prefer flatter mids. Overall, good disc, but not great disc.

I think it's a solid disc that anybody could use for straight midrange drives and approaches. My problem is that I said straight, as I was under the impression this could get some more turn out of it. I tend to see mine just go fairly straight, which my Mako3 takes care of. So I'm a bit disappointed personally, but maybe just because it didn't 100% fill the spot in the bag I want.

The Panther is an understable mid-range that I use mostly in wooded courses. This is a good disc to get around trees and brush. It is a bit domed on top but flies nicely.

This is my new favorite disc. It never flips all the way over. I throw it hard on a hyzer and get a solid 300' dead straight.  I use it forehand and backhand for many holes as a primary driver. Dependable birdie machine. I am very surprised this disc isn't more popular. The few people that I have seen try it fall in love. This disc deserves a try. It isn't as understable as Innova and infinite make it out to be.  It does pull right (rhbh) but it doesn't make for a reverse drive at all.  I wish it was more popular and I thoroughly enjoy using it. It only comes in special Champion plastic. The shape and feel are great. The chalky version of champion plastic they use for this disc in particular is amazing.

This disc is great for all throwers. Try one!

I picked this disc up for the first time at the same time that I tried my first KC roc, and I was floored by both discs. My 3rd time throwing this disc was a 240 foot uphill slight turnover and I landed this thing on top of the basket. All things considered I was really surprised with how stable the panther is. I would rate it with much less turn, but the 1 fade is on point. It holds great turnover lines, and is excellent for tunnel shots up to 275 feet. My favorite thing about it is that it has some glide, but you can put some power behind it knowing that it won't blow past the basket. When I bought this disc I was looking for a versatile midrange that could fill multiple needs so I could narrow down the number of mids in my bag, so I went with the roc, but this disc would have made my bag if I didn't have my rocs.

5 STARS!!! I didn’t get this disc until I was about a year into playing. When I started discing was immediately obsessed and have played at least once a week or more for the past year usually 36 holes every time I go. I throw my drives about 340’ to 360’ average drive and can max out around 380 to 400 on a crush with the right wind or if I’m on a wide open hole or practice field. I think that this is important to know for understanding how i judge this disc. It is my go to disc for any 250’ right turning hole. I throw this disc at about 75% power with a slight hyzer and it will flip and make a long reliable anhyzer turn for 90% of the flight. If you put a little height under it then it will flatten out and land that with little or a straight forward fade. Because it flattens reliably and will never turn into a cut roller (when thrown correctly)  it is the perfect 250’ turnover disc. You can throw it on a full hyzer and have it flip to flat but there are many discs that fly straight and some with more consistency.

This discs major key role is slight hyzer throws for beautiful 250’ turnover shots for incredible consistency and minimal skips. I have a 175 gram champion plastic bright yellow. Another cool feature for my disc is that it looks like it glows when sitting on snow. It doesnt look too crazy in normal light, but it GLOWS when sitting on snow. I love this disc. It will have a spot in my bag for a long time to come.

This is a great disc. It feels like a mid-range disc in the hand, but its glide will enable it to venture into the distance territory of a fairway driver. I can throw this as far as a Leopard or Teebird. I have a very old one (PFN - pre-flight numbers - no flight ratings printed on the disc) and a newer one I got used in good shape. My two panthers fly exactly the same.

At anything less than full power (say under 200' on flat terrain), this disc will do anything you ask of it. Because of its glide, you often won't need to crank hard on this thing. Thrown anny, it will hold the curve as long as it has any speed. Thrown straight, the panther is a laser beam. It's really amazing. It will hold a hyzer if you want, but I generally will pick a more stable disc if that's the goal.

Under full power, (i.e.: X-step drive, and I'd say I have a little better than average speed), it will flip a bit, but it's not too exaggerated. It will hold an anny, so if I really want to crush it, I have to be careful to keep it flat or slightly hyzer.

Regarding the fade, this disc has a really nice way of flattening out and coming down gracefully. A RHBH throw will come back a bit to the left, but not much. That said, if you anny this, it will hit the ground holding that curve. But anything less than that, including the slight anny flip it will do under power, will straighten out at the end and fall a bit left.

I use this disc on a hole at a local course that's about 250' (flat). There is a tight gap I have to hit at about 50' (with low branches) that really constrains the angles I can use, and then there's a tree right in the middle at about 125'. There's a road to the right that's OB and the basket is only about 15' from it, so I can't have a disc wandering off to the right. I drive at about 90% right at the tree. It drifts just a bit to the right to miss that tree, straightens out, and then fades back left just a bit. Every time. This disc is really predictable.

I wouldn't recommend it as a putter, but I use all my mids and putters in practice, and this performs reasonably well. Because it flies so straight at shorter distances, it is great when you need to run right at the basket.

The Panther is a very nice disc for controlled shots in tight fairways or wooded courses. The Panther has a smaller diameter then most mid range discs, making it feel more like a driver in hand. Its flight is very neutral, and reminds me of a Comet with less glide. This disc can really throw any line you're looking for just by adjusting your release angle. This would be a great beginner disc as its easy to throw and doesn't require a ton of power. I wish the DX version was still in production.

The Panther is one of the most underrated discs I've ever bagged. This shallow, beadless midrange has a small rim that is easy to grip and feels great in the hand. When throwing the Panther on a hyzer I can get it to flip and an coast very straight. It's great in the woods for hyzerflips and turnovers. Out in the open you can get some decent distance with the Panther too. I wouldn't say it's as flippy as the numbers suggest. A brand new Panther can be quite straight to stable. A very fun disc that I would recommend to any player especially beginners. The current run available which seems to be a little older is quite firm feeling in the champion plastic. If you like stiffer mid ranges and durable plastics I suggest checking this thing out!

This disc is not the same mold as when I first started playing and what you find today.  So this review may not be like your disc.  If the rim has the slight curvature you have an older mold if not it's the newer ones.  I have two that are of the old mold, and they fly a differently than the newer molds.  Rims look completely different.  It's almost like two different discs now so needless to say I am not about to throw it around water or hard into objects.  I have them in Champion plastic 168-167 grams.  I joke around and say my disc has a magnet in it because for a mid it typically always hits the pole.  Such an amazing mid range.  Now depending on how you use this disc will matter.  If you drive with it, the turn goes to -3 but will produce such an amazing hyzer flip flex shot.  If really beat-in possibly -4 turn.  It'll hold an Anny for me on 200 feet or less shots RHBH 9 o'clock wing angle it'll flatten out with like 30-45% power I would say.  I used to putt with this disc because I didn't like and still don't like the Aviar they give you in the Starter Pack.  It's the only disc I've ever seen to actually stick to the basket by the underside rim of the disc.  It's also the only disc I've been fortunate enough not to lose.  Not very popular golfers choice, but not sure why.  If I could have a signature disc, this would be it.  Then I could bring back the old school mold.

I got this disc in the Innova starter pack when i first started playing. It took me a while to lfigure it out, it'd always over turn, and end up rolling, or end up way off course. There was a while where i didn't even bag it, and only used my Buzzz for mid shots. As I got better, i started figuring it out. It's a GREAT hyzer flip disc, outperforming my Leopard on some drives. I can also get it to break the hyzer and turn over just a little before a nice easy fade. It's definitely replaced the Buzzz as my go-to mid.

Apparently being the botanist of the group isn't a bad thing- hanging out in trees, bushes, shrubbery and OB's is my forte. For this reason, I almost always opt for forehand recovery shots. The Panther is an unusual disc I bag for occasions like this.

It's quite understable for me, as it has been pretty broken in. It's no longer adequate for driving at medium-fast speed like it used to, but I can forehand anhyzer and it'll retain it's line and flatten out just like a backhand. So when I'm in the thicket of Mother Nature's depths I can rely on this disc for anhyzer flex recovery for moderate distance.

I found my disc on the roof of middle school building and loved it for about a couple of months. Mine acted alot like a roc for some reason which is odd for its ratings but randomly all at once it became understable which was actually disappointing because I liked it over stable. I find I don't use it much often and opt for the zombee instead.

This was my first mid range disc! I have always loved this disc and didn't want to throw any other mid ranges for the first few months I owned it. This disc flies very stright, with a slight turn to the right before it finishes left. The champion plastic and mold feels great in my hand, and I really like using this disc for mid range drives. I can use this disc in the woods or in the field. I would suggest that beginners grab this disc and add it to their bag! Love this disc!

I got this in a champion beginner's pack. Turns out its the best beginner midrange innova sells.  If you throw with bad form this disc will let you know.  Perfect for hyzer flips, turnovers or flap s line drives 250-300ft with a little fade at the end.  This is the disc you should be learning to drive with after a putter.  Once you're past that this thing is a go to in the woods.

    I personally don't think it's a -2 1 I more feel it's -1 1 but anyway it could just be the shots I throw it on.

This is a good disc to throw if you don't want to disc that fades hard.  It will finish left if you throw it flat but it won't skip or bounch unless it hits a root or a rock.  Good disc but I personally prefer a Roc 3 or Buzz most of the time.

Found a 166 gram blue Champion Panther in a river. Brand new, no name, stll had the price tag on it. What a find, and what a gem of a disc! It flys very true to the ratings for me (throwing RHBH.) I can really crank this thing and actually had to tone it down a bit because I was overshooting a few pins. It really is great for wooded holes. I love having the choice between pulling out a 173g GStar Roc3, a 180g Star Stingray, or the Panther depending on the circumstances of the shot. The Panther has a very good balance of turn that leads up to a very straight shot, with a graceful touch of fade to cap it all off. I've also noticed the rim tends to grip the ground well on impact if it lands flat and flush, so there is minimal ground slide and virtually no skip to be seen, especially on dirt and gravelly terrain. In circumstances where I DON'T need much skip, slide, or bounce, I'll go with the Panther. Keep it level and it follows the flight ratings perfectly. Highly recommended for beginngers and up.

I acquired a 168g PINK Panther (I am old enough to remember the original movie and the old cartoons) and I am shocked (shocked!) to learn just how good this disc is on tightly wooded/technical courses!  It flies very straight with a bit of fade at the end, but I can shape both hyzer and anhyer shots around trees, skip shots to park reliably under the basket, and even float/glide it through the foliage to a soft landing if I need to.  In the clear (on open holes) a firm throw is getting good distance, as much as my Mako3, and over 200 feet (good for noodle-armed me).  The Champion plastic is holding up against the trees (my disc is as flexible as any GStar disc, which is one reason the trees aren't damaging it).

The Foxbat and Wombat are good understable discs, but cannot be thrown hard lest they crash and burn.  I can throw my Pink Panther with firmness and even some power and it will fly downrange very reliably.  All in all, a great all-around midrange for my bag to compliment the Roc3.

The most underrated Mid out there. Excellent for performing control shots through tightly wooded fairways. I was first introduced to a DX Panther back when Innova still considered this disc to be a long range driver. It helped me learn how to control anhyzer shots as a beginner. I recently reintroduced it to my bag for understable midrange hurls. It proved to be a tricky disc to relearn because I wasn't used to powering down my throws, but I’m glad that I stuck with it. I use my 168 Champ Panther for straight wooded tunnel shots, anhyzer shots over/around obstacles, and occasionally as a roller. It’s not as flashy as other discs; however, it’s very versatile and controllable. It compliments my heavier Z Buzzz nicely. Keep it out of the wind and the Panther will perform great.

I initially got this disc in pink in champion plastic just so I could say I have a Pink Panther. I was still new to playing disc golf so I had no idea what this disc could do. This disc was easy to learn and helped me throw straighter with more control. This is my priority disc to use on wooded courses. Another great beginner friendly disc by Innova.
