    It's Decent

I gotta say, I'm not in love with this disc. It's fine and all, but I think there's better stuff out there. After having it in my bag for a month or two, it got pulled out because I just have other discs that basically do the same thing. Definitely should try to hold and feel one for yourself before you buy one! I didn't, and to my surprise there's a very strange "track" sort of thing on the underside of the disc in the middle of the rim. Pretty hard to explain and describe, but it's unlike anything else I've felt before. Again, the disc flies just fine, but it's definitely not for everybody!

A good for all most skill levels driver. For those of you with slower arm speeds, don't let the speed 10 rating intimidate you - the understability of it will compensate. If your driving distance is somewhere between 150 and 200 feet, the Monarch can function as a fairly neutral/stable driver.and can even be something you can throw into a headwind, especially when the only other drivers you own are even lower speed and still understable discs.

A 225-275 foot drive is where I find that this disc truly excels. A nice gentle S-curve that should land in a fairly straight line with the angle of release.

Beyond that, yeah, you'll start turning it over real bad.. I'm not fond of hyzer-flipping discs and would recommend finding a more overstable disc, but it should still be a solid disc in your roller slot. The champion plastic is very sturdy and limited contact area on the edges leave it optimal.

I had a monarch for a while back when I first started playing disc golf before I promptly tossed it into a bush. It was a great disc for me.

Flight: very flippy. This disc is quite understable. It will snap to roller angle after a full power shot from flat. In order to get any type of other throw out of this disc, you're gonna have to put some hyzer on it.

Feel: I'm gonna be honest. The feel of this disc is weird as heck. It has a thin rim, with a little divit that goes around the rim. I don't know what that is for, or what it accomplishes, but it feels quite strange.

Comparisons: In terms of feel, the only disc that comes close is the groove, becasue of its groove on the bottom. In terms of flight, I would say a Witness is pretty similar, lots of glide, very flippy, goes pretty far.

A lot of people don't seem to like the Monarch, but I thinks it's actually a really good disc. If you are someone who throws a Wraith, you should pick up a Monarch as an understable complement. They fit in your hand very similarly with an identical rim width and you can have the turning flight you sometimes need without having to beat a Wraith in first. Powers down really well too, with a half power thrown it cruises neutrally with an average fade out. Pick one up in Champion if you want it a little less flippy than -4.
