The most dependable midrange I have. Will fly on any line that you put it on.

The most overstable "understable" disc I have ever thrown.

I don't know what a Manta usually looks like as the only one I have thrown is the one I just lost, but I don't like this disc. The one I received was super domey. I'm talking dome all the way to th emiddle of the disc, and it had sort of a two-tierd dome going for it where there was one dome angle from the rim in, then an even more drastic dome angle from there to the center. I'm wondering if that had a massive impact on the flight by slowing the disc down / killing the early flight (drag?). I liked the feel of the disc in my hand, and it looks cool, but that's where my enjoyment of the disc ends. I hated throwing it.

I tried throwing the disc several times, every single time, the disc hooked up and pulled hard to the left (RHBH) with a massive dump. There was no turn to it whatsoever. Throwing 50%, 80% and full power, didn't matter, pretty much the same flight. Out of the hand, it seemed to have okay speed, but quickly slammed on the brakes and hit the fade part of the flight WAY too soon (like 50 or 60 feet), where it seemed to have far more fade than advertised.

I threw several shots in an open field trying to figure it out, and could never get the disc to properly turn over to the right right. I decided to play the disc on the course just to see if I could get it to shape shots. Threw it on a hole next to the river (to my left). Aimed to the right to be safe, and let the disc rip. Sure enough, it hooked up and pulled hard left, directly into the drink. That's where it's staying. Hope the guy who fishes it out has better luck.

It sucks losing a disc you received in the mail that morning, but at the same time, if you cannot rely on the disc, it's a bitter-sweet farewell at best.

Initially, I did not use this disc too much. It wasn't something I loved right off the bat, but as I threw it more, it has become my go-to straight mid-range disc. I think it's less understable than its flight specs say, but if you put it on a harder anhyzer line, it will follow that very accurately.

This is a great beginner disc, especially as you get more into disc golf because it will help you see if you're throwing properly and improve your form.

This nice thing about this disc is that you can power down your shots on this disc and it will still fly a true line. Highly recommend this underrated disc!

This disc to me is a beaded stingray,s very similar mold.. the biggest difference is that this mold usually always S's back at the tail end.  This comes in handy, and the flight seems to be consistent. The other difference between this and a stingray is that it does not tend to roll when it hits the ground, also a bonus..  personal I star plastic in this mold more so than the dx. For fairly tight straight lines it works very well..

The Manta is a great mid range disc. Great for beginners and all skill levels. The v-rim allows the disc to hold any line when thrown. It will hold a hyzer with power, if thrown flat it'll stay flat and hyzer out at the end. If thrown with anny, low to medium power, it will flatten out and ride straight. An anny with power will glide on a nice gentle annhyzer. It's really hard to turn it over completely, even in a head wind.

The Manta appears to be a modified Stingray (the code on the back of the first run indicates that it was intended to be a V-Stingray). But I like it better than a Stingray and feel that it wasn't as understable as I expected. In fact, with a throw at moderate speed, the Manta flew surprisingly straight. It also acted wonderfully as a shot-shaping disc that could be thrown with different wrist angles to get it to fly in the direction that you want.

The Manta would work wonderfully as a disc for new players, but can also fit into the bag for intermediate players who want a flexible, short-distance driver or mid-range. It flies a bit slower with nice glide, but it reaches the mark. If thrown harder, it will pull to the understable side, and for many players who only throw backhand, it is nice to have a dependable understable mid-range.

I really like the Manta. On the bottom of this discs it's listed, VST, I'm guessing for V-Stingray, but I guess they'd play off of the Stingray name and go with Manta Ray?

Anyways, this discs has a feel very different any other midrange I've played with. It's rather domey, but super thin near the edges of the disc, and has a very narrow rim depth, which I really liked for controlled midrange and approach shots. I think that most people will either like, or hate the feel of the Manta because it is pretty unique. If you like it, there is a good chance this will stay in your bag and potentially provide you with more control and confidence than you'll get with other discs with similar flight paths.

The Manta I played with was brand new, and I was actually counting on it being more understable than it is. According to the flight chart it will turn right quite a bit, and I thought flightwise it would be more like the Westside Tursas, potentially really flippy. For me, atleast brand new, it really wasn't, but what it is great for is laser straight throws. I parked several holes that needed to stay dead straight and did.

If you're looking for a straight flying mid with a unique feel, try the Manta.

The Manta is another great addition to the V-Tech family. I love the VCobra, which in rating seems to be a straighter version of this disc. The Manta's numbers suggest it's understable, but I would say it's not quite as understable as it suggests.

It will definitely fly on an anny out of the hand, but it ends up straightening out with a little bit. If given enough time, it'll have a little fade at the end. If you throw it with a little hyzer, it'll pop up and go straight a while! The big bead just makes it fly straight and have no harsh fades or turns.

Definitely a great, forgiving mid for beginners, or for those who need an understable mid slot. It's quite workable!
