One of my favorites. I feel it glides better than 3 and it has very nice torque resistance when thrown with the forehand.

I got this disc YESTERDAY from a play it again sports as like a "oh yeah i sold some discs let me buy one so I don't feel bad." kind of disc. Like a wall hanger cause you cant really find these online. The store I had been to had three, I drove home (30min) grabbed the rest of my discs I don't throw and traded them in so I could afford to get the other two they had. Today I almost aced my personal hole in backyard (300ft) twice and every time I throw it im like parked to tap in for a birdie. If you bag this and cant find a replacement the Blade by Gateway is the same thing but the gateways are board flat. They are labeled as star plastic but its definitely pro plastic at least the three that I have. It's very comparable to my TL3. So if you like TL3 then I would recommend this for a bit more overstability.

I found this disc in a pond with no one responding to my text attempts. I gave it a try today out on he course, and wow I really like this disc! I ended up parking 2 holes from the tee that I normally struggle to get near the basket on. It's not to say it gives me that much more distance, but it dos give me more control. It's a very workabel disc. It flies straight and has a reliable fade without fading too much.

Unfortunately, I lost my Gstar Firebird last week and this is a bit slower, but it's easily just as controlable of a disc, so it may just replace it for now. Me likey!

I have a max weight star FL in my bag right next to my flat top star Firebird. The FL is a good fairway driver. Throws a lot like the Thunderbird, but has a slightly smaller rim. My FL has a decent dome to it which makes it fly rather stable. I throw this disc forehand and backhand. Anytime I need a straighter flight and less fade than my beef Firebird I grab the FL. The Flight is straight with a slight fade at the end of the flight. Mine is beat in but good for tunnel fairway shots. All in all pretty close to the flight of the Thunderbird in fact the FL made my bag because I like star plastic and it replaced my the champ thunderbird I was using.

If I have to play a round with just one disc this is the one for me. In fact, I played in a local “Modelo open” and it was a three disc only non-PDGA tournament. I came in second with -11 using this as my driver. It’s good for both forehand and backhand.

Will always be a go-to disc for me. I can throw this on a straight hyzer almost as far as my high speed discs. Great for little flex flicks in the woods. Only in the windiest conditions will it turn a little on me. Has a super consistent straight flight with a very predictable medium fade and no turn.

The FL is a great option for newer players, or players with less power, as a overstable fairway wind fighter. If the Firebird is a little bit too much for you, this disc is what you are looking for to handle the same duties. This was also a great forehand disc for me. It was able to hold straight and finish strong, but not quite the meathook the Firebird is.

The FL is a pretty good disc, but just never found it's way into my bag. I occasionally used it up at high elevations, because it would have enough fade to handle downhill throws.

I would have kept using an FL but I found a bunch of soft Star Firebirds that replaced my FL for good. Nowadays, I am throwing a PD and Thunderbird, both of which I prefer a lot more than the FL.

It flies like a fast Teebird. The flight is great and consistent, and the FL could be the disc you are looking for if you can't get into the Thunderbird or PD.

I have a 170g Star FL and I absolutely love this disc. This disc is great for tight holes 300' to 350'. I typically have a hard time flicking lower speed distance drivers because I turn them over too easily, but when I really crank on the FL I can get it up to around 360' on a day with no wind with very minimal HST. Back hand I don't have as much power but can still get the FL out past 300' and it has a much more stable flight for me. It is really consistent with and without the wind and will always finish left. I've had mine for about 2 years and it has held up nicely. I would not play a round with out it.

Bought a 167g Star FL from Infinite Discs.  I really love it that Infinite Discs puts pictures of their discs for sale where we can see them:  I am very pleased with the asthetics of my FL disc, as it was just what the picture showed..

Having said that... what the TL is to the Teebird and the SL is to the Starfire... the FL is *NOT* to the Firebird, so sorry.  The FL has a low glide number, and rightly so, but it definitely has the advertised fade.  On a workout of all my speed-9 and above discs, the FL went the least distance, and that was over several throws.  A power player cranking down on it might get something out of it, but I'm not the one for that.

However, I've added the FL to my "windy weather" bag:  it holds up against the wind pretty well, so it's useful on days my Valkyrie would get kicked around.  So it does have value for me, and people who like the Viking or Firebird might want to get one of these before they sell out and are gone like the SL...

(Edited 6/8/15):  Just need to add that the FL is a great forehand flick disc, as is it's brother the Firebird.  As I learn how to throw the forehand flick, the FL is very consistent for me.  If you throw forehand, pick up an FL before they sell out and are gone...

I should add that I'm throwing a seasoned 179 gram pro plastic FL, so maybe a new star plastic FL would be closer to a Firebird.

The FL is one of the money makers in my bag. For those holes that I just can't reach with a fairway, I go to this disc. It will give me a very straight for about 2/3 of its flight and then a dependable fade. I have also found that it makes a great approach flick disc, allowing for par saves a plenty.
