The GStar Dominator offers a slightly gummier feel with excellent grip in all weather. This blend provides a touch more high-speed turn and a straighter finish compared to Champion, making it a workable max-distance driver for a variety of lines.

    GStar Details

GStar is a fantastic ultra premium plastic blend by Innova. The plastic offers a unique metallic shine that not only looks good, but it is also incredibly grippy and flexible (you can literally fold a GStar disc). This plastic blend is especially recommended for playing disc golf when it's cold outside.

I purchased this disc used at a pro shop. I was actually looking for a Gstar Firebird to purcahse to replace the one that I had lost. This was the only Gstar disc they had in stock and it felt somewhat similar, just had a wider rim. However, to my surprise, it really doesn't fly much like the Firebird I had at all.

This disc is very overstable! What I loved about my Gstar Firebird was the straight flight I got out of it with a reliable and consisten fade at the end. This disc just wants to start fading almost immediately. I have other discs that do that already, so just not what I was looking for.

If you have a 425' or more arm speed, then I am sure you can make good use out of this disc for distance. I am just not there. (I have thrown for over 420, but just not consistantly)

This is going to sound unconventional but the dominator is my favorite approach disc in the game. I love the consistent flight path of this disc, it has a small amount of turn and an equal amount of fade in my opinion which makes for a very straight overall flightpath.

The speed of the disc is why I end up using it so often as a approach disc. I will heavily lean on this disc whenever I have a low ceiling approach. The skips with this guy are awesome!

I love the dominator and have convinced many of my friends to get one for themselves.

I find that the dominator was a really weird disc for me that I cannot find a good use for to take a slot in my bag. I found a pretty understable wide rim driver that can flex for great distance on a slight hyzer, but the fade always cut the flight a lot shorter than I always wanted. I did not find the disc was super glider for a distance driver that was understable and this meant that the fade just took over and cut the flight a good 20-30 feet shorter than I expect every time. This could be a perfect distance driver for someone that is just getting into throwin 13 speed drivers, but it just was not for me. This disc seemed a lot like my Z Crank SS but with more fade and less glide. If you are looking for a stable to more understable distance driver I would give the dominator a try and you might fall in love with this disc. You will be able to get good distance with this disc quite easy, I just think there are better options that will give you more glide and even more distance with the same amount of touch that is needed to throw this thing great. I do love the gstar feel, the plastic is really nice and durable and grippy. It holds up well to tree kicks or anything and the plastic handles being wet very well.

I had this disc in Gstar and it works great as an open bomber or a disc you can pipe down a narrow fairway for good distance. I had 2 of them over the years but the only part I did not care for was how quickly it beat in and lost its flight numbers. Other than that I loved it straight out of the bag.

The Dominator is a wide rimmed distance driver that is not quite as stable as the more popular Destroyer or Boss. Its flight was as advertised in the less stable bit for me. It has some decent turn, but fades back at the end of the flight really well. I was less than impressed with the glide of this disc. It didn't seem to have the carry that many discs like it do. It could just be the one that I had, but not really something that I would throw.

I have a 171 gram GStar Dominator, flat on the top.  It does not fly any straighter than my
171 gram GStar Bass (which has a dome).  The Dominator has less glide, goes hard left at about 2/3rds of the way through the flight.  The depth of the rim is slightly more shallow than the Boss, making it hard to hold onto when throwing.  FYI, I throw about 300-325 feet. Get a Tern or the new Shryke instead.  If you throw more than 350' then just get a Boss instead.

designed to give the best of control and long line shaping for higher power players. Similar to the Katana, with more high speed stability, the Dominator has the glide to maximize distance with a predicable turn. Lower power players will be able to use the Dominator in weights down to the mid 130s in Blizzard Champion plastic. Dominator tests show [13|5|-1|2] as the potential flight numbers.

    Warning: Prior Experience Required.

I've been playing disc golf for about a year, and this was my list of my "go-to" drivers I have upgraded from the beginning until now:

    1. Innova DX Archangel
    2. Innova DX Beast
    3. Innova Gstar Tern
    4. Innova Gstar Daedulus
    5. Innova Gstar Dominator

As you can see, if you're a beginner; don't go out and just buy the Dominator. If you've been playing for a while and you've been getting your form down, and your "go-to" driver is becoming more and more understable, that's a sign that your technique, power and experience want you to upgrade to a more stable and/or heavier disc.

    Enter the Gstar Dominator.

I am categorized on PDGA as an AM Intermediate, meaning I can consisently throw 250ft-350ft. I throw (RHBH), and my Gstar Dominator is 175g and I have slowly develooped the throw power and technique to throw it over 300ft now almost every drive.

I fell in love with the Gstar plastic, as you can see above. I was able to throw farther and learn the proper way to launch the disc off the pad by choosing a more understable disc (plus Gstar is really grippy).

I've finally weened my way into a stable long distance driver with the Dominator, and can't wait till I can excel even more this year!

*Gstar plastic is my preference right now, it helped me learn to throw hard and long with a good grip. Champion plastic is my #2 fav*

    Overview:

Not everyone likes Gstar, but I would def. recommend trying it out on an understable disc if you're new.

I got this disc in gstar at 171 and I have to say the gstar plastic is nice but not my favorite. I like to think I have a pretty decent sized arm, throwing 400+ regularly. Contrary to other reviews, I find this disc to less stable than advertised. So I only use it for tailwind drives or when I need a long over under stable shot. But when thrown with a smooth 80-90 percent this disc will bomb. I recommend this disc for people just starting to get into the high speed drivers as a max D OS driver.
