The Caiman is a Gator with that massive bead shaved off the bottom, which makes it 1000% better. Not only does it feel infinitely better coming out of my hand, but it is also not quite as OS as a gator, making it a bit more workable while still being plenty OS. This is not an absurd beef cake mid, but an OS disc that still has good speed and glide, making it great for big hyzers, anny flex shots, and flat throws that need to turn the corner a ways down the fairway. It can make all these shots both backhand and forehand as well. Excellent mold.

I use this disc almost exclusively for forehand, and I found it to be consistent for high hyzer shots that I want to end to the right of a mando or obstacle. I have noticed that some strong headwinds will cause this disc to flip to flat or turn, but I don't find that to be a fault with the disc but rather just a reality of playing in a headwind. I am so glad to have this disc in my bag for short drives that I want to throw hyzer on forehand.

The Caiman has a very unique feel in the hand compared to other overstable mids I have thrown. It feels much more rounded and thin in the hand. It flies beautifully and can handle serious torque, and it's pretty comfortable as well, but it unfortunately did not make the bag. It was just too different than my other mids, and I would rather have something more comparable in hand feel to those molds.

I love over stable midranges, the Caiman just didn't meet my expectations. More stable than a Gator without a bead. I like the feel of the Gator3 better but have come to find that the Toro has taken that slot in the bag.

I bag 175G Champion Caimin and live above 5000' elevation in Wyoming.

Plastic:  Standard Champion plastic.  It was relatively slick when I first put it in the bag, however after a little bit of use it has decent grip.  Moderate flashing, but still felt good to throw out of the box

Flight:  Not as overstable as advertised.  It does qualify as overstable, low glide with a decent finish, but it doesn't have as much of a fade as expected.  I use this disc mostly for approaches in the wind and the occasional flex line.  I purchased this disc to be a forehand approach work horse and I don't really like the forehand feel.  As I said above, it still filled a hole in the bag as a low glide, windy approach disc.

Conclusion:  Overall not a bad disc, not as overstable as some other Innova molds but still reliable.  Here in Wyoming we get regular winds that exceed 50mph, so this disc comes in handy for shorter shots into stiff winds.  As for users, this disc is probably going to fly very overstable for newer players, but will be trust worthy in the wind.

If you are in search of a beadless overstable midrange, this is the one for you. It does not feel like other midranges but that is not necessarily a bad thing! It is great for longer approaches your Zone/Pig/Harp can't quite reach. They also can beat in to nice wind-fighters that don't dump quite as hard.

Very stable. Not a lot of glide. I was hoping this would be a more stable zone with a quicker speed. I found this was not the case.

While it is a very overstable midrange, it's not Zone reliable ridiculously overstable. Innova just doesn't quite have the ridiculously overstable midrange slot down. I threw it side by side comparing it with a Justice, Anchor, and Deflector, and the Caiman doesn't even compare. It's not in that utility approach shot that will always head towards the ground category. In fact, the Caimen I tested probably isn't even as overstable as the Innova Gator.  The rim of the Caimen is not as thick as the Justice and it has a very different feel.

When thrown backhand at a hyzer angle, the Caiman stays at the angle and handles as a low glide overstable midrange. The other problem I have with the Caimen is that it didn't work well at all for me for forehand throws. This disc I was throwing isn't completely flat on the top and has slight dome which for my forehand throws lead to me releasing a bit on an anhyzer angle. Unlike the Justice, Anchor and Deflector, this disc stayed on the anhyzer line and didn't flex out back to the right. Most people won't have this problem I'm sure, but with the way I release discs forehand, it was a big deal for me and did not perform well.

If you're an Innova fan and are looking for a really overstable mid with a little bit different feel than the Gator or Mortar, then try the Caiman out, but if you're looking for an ultra overstable utility approach disc, you'll probably be disappointed.

For starters I love this disc

Before I started to use the caiman I use to throw the gator a lot and I was never a bid fan of the big bead at the bottom but I need that big fade at the end I would only be able to throw the gator maybe 180 feet accurate but with the caiman I feel like I can hit any hook shot line without that big bead in the way I feel like it fly way faster than the number say I can throw this about 300 feet and play lawn dart with it just got to know how to control your power and angle that you release it on just know it as beefy as the gator or maybe even more

I needed an overstable utility disc for getting around corners and making more technical shots. This filled that hole in my bag better than I anticipated! Some have said that the disc has no glide and is too over stable. I have found that it will hold a line pretty well before fading reliably and it seems to me to glide more than the 2 rating would indicate. I wouldn't advise getting this if you are looking for something that will get you tons of distance, but I don't think that's what it was made for. It is a great disc to have and I am glad I got one. I use it way more than I thought I would. I would highly recommend you need an over stable mid range.

I don't get this disc. So overstable and seriously no glide. Very comparable to an Discmania MD5... which i also don't really care for. I cans ee some value for top level players with crazy arm speed, but for amateurs like myslef, i dont see much need for this disc unless it is used as an approach disc. Maybe instead of a Zone, Harp, Loki, Justice, Tactic, etc.

This has become my favorite disc for approach within 300' forehand and backhand. I have no idea why it's not more popular. It's fine in the wind. I've tried so many overstable putters as primary approach discs (Suspect--great, Roc--good, Pig--great, Pilot--fair, Wizard--good, Tactic--great, A3--amazeballs in 750 (can't find), Dart--too flippy for 300' for my lame touch, Cro--good, Banger--great for putting and Paige Pierce loves it for approach, etc etc.) . Champ Caiman Islands ftw!!! I see the distance is less than 300 and I think birdie--thanks Caiman!

I am not kidding. I trust this as much as my Buzzz... It is a killer mold and one that every strong thrower should at least test.

Why is this not a core disc?

I used to bag a Gator3, but have since moved to a Caiman. The Caiman feels better in my hand, while still absolutely dumping left on my backhand. I can get a decent bit of glide out of the disc with a strong consistent fade. Thrown relatively flat, I use the Caiman to get around tight corners with its large skip flare that it will normally always do. The Caiman won't always be in my bag, but for rounds where I know there will be tight corners, or strong headwind rounds it will surely be in there.

I have spent a lot of time looking for an over stable midrange that works well for both forehands and backhands. So far, this is the best disc I have found for the job however I am not completely satisfied. I really enjoy this disc on backhand throws as it does have reliable fade at the end of its flight. It still isn't quite as overstable as I would like an overstable midrange to be. I don't think it is as overstable as its flight numbers show. I also think that this disc has more glide than its numbers represent. When it comes to forehand throws I think this disc does ok but it is what I am least satisfied with. I love to throw a really overstable disc on forehands and this disc isn't overstable enough for my liking. Overall though I think this disc is good but I wish it was more overstable.

I have recently added the Champion Caiman to my bag to fill the slot of overstable midrange, and I feel like this disc delivers! The Champion plastic has a really nice feel in the hand, and for whatever reason has a little more grippy feel then some of the other Champion plastic molds I have. I have really enjoyed throwing the Caiman both backhand and forehand, and feel like it provides a really useful shot shape shape with its reliable hard finish.

The Caiman is a great younger sibling to something like the Firebird if you are looking for something with a little less distance and less skip action at the end of the flight.

I would recommend the Caiman to anyone looking for a midrange that can stand up to a stiff headwind, will have a reliable hard finish with some distance control.

my first opinion on the champion Caiman this is a over stable and better feeling disc than the Gator by Innova. I was at first very impressed overall about how this disc felt in the hand for forehands and backhands as well even with the micro bead this disc has. Throwing this disc in some field work sessions I was also impressed when the wind was down this disc overall flew like a further and slightly more over stable zone. When the wind picked up however I saw this disc turn very hard to the right on a RHBH Hyzer though the disc ended up fading back at the end of its flight I wasn't very impressed overall about how the disc handled moderate to strong headwinds. I would recommend this disc to anyone trying to find there first over stable mid range to complete there bag. I think with a slower arm speed this disc won't have much trouble dealing with wind but for the more faster arm speeds I would choose a Justice and or a Xtreme if you don't want the disc to have any turn in the flight and you need the disc to get left quickly.

I would choose the Champion Caiman for my midrange on any day that is even slightly windy. The Caiman is super reliable with a flat flight with a reliably hard finish.

I had my first ace with a Champion Caiman so it has a special place on my wall. I prefer to choose the middle weights. Anywhere from 166 grams to 173 grams is what I prefer.

I also love the micro-bead on this disc. It really helps me control the disc release and keeps it smooth and clean.

I would recommend this disc to any player that need a super-reliable midrange. I believe that anyone can use this disc as long as they have good form and understand the flight path of this disc.

I have thrown both the champion and star plastics and slightly prefer the champion plastic.

I carry three Caimans in my bag at all times (with all different weights and age).

Great disc for any windy game or for any shots with a strong hyzer finish.

This is a disc that I tend to use when I really want something over stable and and I want it to push a little farther than my pig. I like how it doesnt have a bead like the gator and it's pretty similar to a hyzerbomb mortar. Good disc.

I love my Champion Caiman. This disc will go straight for me for a bit and then provide a nice left fade at the end. The Champion plastic is comfortable in my hand and also works well for this disc when forehanding it.

I LOVE this disc. I have never seen a disc tip-toe the line of being very overstable but not being a crazy meathook like this one does. When thrown on RHBH it wants to finsih left and will fight out of an anhyzer like a very overstable disc does. Yet, somehow, when thrown on hyzer it doesn't completely dump like a true meathook does, it will hold it all the way to the ground but it does it so gently. That specific shot has been very useful as I play on very wooded courses. The disc is super flat and feels so good in my hand.

Good disc, reasonably overstable and easy to use. I bought to fill the overstable mid hole in my bag. I would compare it to a Discraft Drone, or a faster Westside Harp.

The caiman performs beautifully in a tall wide shot, hzyer bomb, or a nice fast low line to save a bad drive lay.

The disc is a good introduction to overstable plastic for a beginner, easy to throw and low speed, while still giving a hard to turn over and reliable fading flight path.

Champion Caiman (175g) - I like this disc and the feel in hand. I would compare the feel somewhere between the Zone in diameter and the Mako3 in rim design. It is not a very deep disc and felt comfortable to throw forehand and backhand since it is beadless (or has a tiny unnoticeable microbead). I have two complaints about it, but I suppose that neither one is really a complaint depending on what you're looking for. First, it is not as stable as the flight numbers suggest. I think a 2 might be more accurate for fade. It flies pretty straight until it slows down and then dumps right in a predictable way. It was a pretty easy disc to figure out. But, I didn't find it super helpful because I already bag a Mako3 for my straight flying mid, and I didn't find the Caiman overstable enough in flight to replace my Zone as a utility upshot disc. So it was kind of inbetween the two. My second complaint is that without a bead it slides or skips more than you might think. Again, this isn't really a problem if you need something to move further in a low ceiling situation or if you need to slide something closer to pin to avoid wind or something else. I like beadless discs in the hand, but in Champion plastic they are a little slippery on the ground. Buying Star plastic would be an easy way to avoid that if you don't want something that moves across the ground so much.

The Champion Caiman is a great FH disc. It's speed & stability remind me of the Buzzz OS. With that comparison I'd say the Caiman is a touch more stable & more comfortable to grip. It didn't take me very long to learn this mold & realize how dependable it is. If you like really overstable mids for FH shots then check out the Caiman.

On paper this disc looks good but I didn't find it to be as advertised. IT's way less overstable than you'd think. I also found that it doesn't fit the upshot disc slot well because it has too much glide. On a positive note, it feels decent and is comfortable to grip. I don't see it being very zone like but rather more Buzzz like. Maybe the one I got was an outlier so it's hard to say.
