    GStar Details

GStar is a fantastic ultra premium plastic blend by Innova. The plastic offers a unique metallic shine that not only looks good, but it is also incredibly grippy and flexible (you can literally fold a GStar disc). This plastic blend is especially recommended for playing disc golf when it's cold outside.

To start off with I have an old star plastic one when they were made in Rancho. And that is an amazing disc for pretty much every type of throw. The g stars are close but not as laser straight. And not my favorite on a headwind. Overall decent disc just want the old verison back lol.

I really enjoy Aviar discs, and the driver is not an exception. The bead gives the disc some added stability. It throws like a fresh KC Aviar. The one thing that bothers me, and this is what keeps me from throwing this disc, Innova doesn't run this is DX plastic. There is nothing I want more than a DX Big Bead Aviar.

I have aN Aviar Driver in star plastic and it was the first disc I ever bought. Coincidentally it was also my first ace disc! I threw and putted it for many seasons before building a real bag. As a thrower the Aviar Driver is very straight. I can throw it soft and flat and get it to glide out without moving too far left or right. As a putting putter the Aviar Driver is also very straight. You can aim right at the chain from circles edge and in and let the disc carry itself to the basket. You aren't required to aim too far right or left of the target because the Aviar Driver will hold a nice straight spin putt. If you are fond of other beaded aviars like the KC Pro Aviar you will enjoy this disc. It's the same bead size as a KC Pro, but offered in a more durable plastic. In the hand the Aviar Driver is quite deep making it a little uncomfortable for a fan grip. I would recommend this disc to any beginners looking for a straight beaded putter.

This disc has earned a solid place in my bag over the last few weeks of owning it (probably a dozen rounds played with it so far). I tend to throw it as an approach disc and for dead straight drives up to about 240ish, and for slight hyzer or anhyzer drives. It's an extremely straight flying disc that is easy to control with pinpoint accuracy. The GStar plastic has been holding up extremely well so far. I have also thrown KC pro and JK pro Aviars and I think the GStar is slightly more overstable than either to start and breaks in much more slowly over time. I used to putt with either a DX Aviar PnA or a JK Pro Aviar, but lately I have been putting with the GStar Aviar Driver and my 30 foot hit percentage has actually gone up. I would highly recommend this disc as a driving and approach disc and even as a putter!

This disc has filled a gap in my bag very nicely. Ocasionally I use it for its stated purpose of driving on a short hole, but my favorite use for it is approach shots/putts from about 60-70 feet and to about 20 ft. Unless you throw it crazy hard for some reason, it will always flatten out and reliably turn left at the end even when thrown on an anhyzer line. I typically like to use the small S curve and go right at the basket. Great approach shot disc that can save you several strokes per round.

As my DX Aviars got beat up and quite understable, I've got this GStar Aviar Driver ('cause GStar lasts forever =)). More stable (although not as much as KCPro Aviar), no more fear of obstacles and disc destruction. Up to 220 feet and slight wind, no problem.
