The Star Alien features a smooth, durable feel with added stiffness that supports confident full-power throws. Offering the same straight, glide-heavy flight as the base mold, the Innova Star Alien excels at long, shaping approaches, flex lines, and touch forehands—while holding up to wear far longer than baseline options.

Based on the shape, I was thinking this would be a fun glidy disc like a Sonic or a Glitch, but it's not that at all. This just wants to drop to the ground without being particularly overstable. Maybe my expectations were to blame, but I low-key hate this mold. I guess for a short-range point and shoot it's ok. It was dead straight for backhand, but wobbly and flippy for forehand (I know this contradicts other reviews). I bag a Berg, which is a better fit in my short range ultra-neutral slot.

The alien is a great disc. I like to use it as a normal putter, I love the grip it offers. I also like to use it for forehand approach shots, it is nearly laser straight in this type of throw.

Love the feel and it holds a line like nobodies business. Genuinely really good mid, not just a gimmick

    Hilariously fun!

I have two Star Aliens, one in Pink (172g) and one in White (179.5g), and both fly the same: very straight, with little fade, and not a lot of glide. It feels like what it is: a midrange disc with a Frisbee-style top. The Rings of Headrick provide decent grip, but I'll be honest, this disc is pretty much bunko on backhand. It's difficult to range, its hard to get a consistent release, and it has very little glide.

For myself, the Alien shines the most when thrown forehand. Both two and one-finger forehand power grips feel great. The rings of Headrick give a good grip for the thumb. Best of all, the Alien flies dead straight with very little fade for my forehand. Forehand hyzer holds the line while forehand anhyzer never turns and burns as long as there is enough height.

A weird disc, and Innova really missed the boat by not releasing this first in glow green plastic, but it's fun. I bet you won't see too many Aliens in the Pros bags, but it is absolutely worth a try for the average player.

I've been bagging it since it was prereleased. I'm FH dominant and will say that it feels VERY comfortable in the hand. The top is obviously a sonic and the bottom feels like a Roc. I'd say that it's fairly OS right out of the box regardless of what angle you put it on. But after a couple weeks of throwing it I've noticed that when thrown flat or on baby hyzer with FH I'm getting it to flip up and/or turn (-1).
may the end of the day, I think the premium plastics will make great throwers especially on windier days and that base plastics like DX or maybe even R-Pro and Nexus plastics will make for a great putter - especially if you're into the Sonics grooved thumbtrac. 9/10
