I've been hearing about the Innova Ace and how great it was for a long time from an old school disc golf friend. So, I thought I would finally give it a huck. I don't throw an understable putter, but I do throw an understable mid, the Kite. I wanted to see if I could use the Ace for some of the same turning shots I use the Kite for.

To start out, the rim on the Ace is a lot more shallow than most putters. If you prefer shallow-rimmed putters, you may want to give this a try. I have long fingers, so the ace is almost too shallow, but still workable. It is a beadless, so I'm used to that feel with my Dart. With my fan grip that I use for putting, the Ace felt really good in my hand. Although I don't have any plans for putting with the Ace, it does feel good as a putter.

Throwing the disc reveals that it's understability is greater than the -2 turn rated for the disc. It flips over quite easily, at max weight, and holds the turn for quite a while before finishing with an accurate 1.0 fade. The flight is reliable and consistent. I haven't thrown it in a stiff headwind yet, but I imagine needing to put a lot of hyzer on the disc to control the turn.

I'm looking forward to bagging the Ace for shorter anny shots, and possibly short turnover shots.
